I've been watching more of your videos since subscribing, and I just wanted to thank you so much for all the lightbulb moments you've given me.
1. I don't have to knit jumpers and cardigans.
2. It's ok to love acrylic yarn.
3. The word "selfish" must be banned when speaking about crafting.
4. Knitting doesn't need to be an expensive hobby.
5. I can do what I like with my knitting. It's MY knitting.

First congratulations. Second. Love the Van Gogh! Ok I came across your TH-cam and absolutely it resonated with me. I’m not a garment knitter. I try and I try and get frustrated. I love knitting socks. I love knitting hats. I don’t love knitting mittens. But I know what I enjoy and it brings me pleasure so that’s what I’m doing. I thought I could be a shawl knitter but I’m not. I don’t even wear the couple I knit and I gave them away! I frog so many projects and call it practice or a learning lesson. My friend and I are going to Ireland (from northern Canada) in the fall on a knitting tour and she is under strict instructions to remind me I’m not a sweater knitter lol least I try to be one of the crowd. My work life has been extremely stressful the last couple of years and I’ve pretty much only been knitting stockinette socks and hats. You can tell when I’ve had a rest as I’ll whip out a textured hat but for the most part only stockinette for me and I’m ok with that.

Congratulations on your engagement. Loved the Van Gogh doll. Made me laugh out loud that you took him all the way there and left him in the locker. That is something I’d do.
I do knit and sew clothing but I keep it super simple. I find if I use interesting yarns or fabrics people love the clothes I make even though they are the most basic designs.
That’s a great idea, using simple patterns but lovely yarn!

Ahh, knitting slumps. Yup, no fun. Usually I don’t think/worry about, because in a day or two, I’m back to creating. Other times, it’s usually because I decide on pattern, yarn, gauge…. by the time I’m ready to cast on/knit, I’ve lost interest…wha…?!?! Sometimes a slump hits when it seems every project has a problem (yarn knotSss, gauge issues, etc) and I just want to give up. My solution: I crochet some totes, dish (or bath) cloths (using alllll those little bits), and by the time I’ve tired of those, back to knitting! Sometimes just a Very Different project works.
Which means a LOT of WIPs, but that’s okay! I’ll get to them. eventually. My own little “Project Store”! grin grin

Yay ! You're back 👏👏 Big Congratulations ❤🎉🎉🎉 , I'm slowly coming out of my knitting slump by making amigurumi toys and the odd knitted toy oh yeah I made 2 baby jackets for my daughter's work colleague, ummm I wasn't happy with them ,never mind I guess my heart wasn't in it heyho, buuuut I have purchased some yarn to knit socks for hubby , the colours remind me our handsome German Shepherd who sadly passed sooooo knitting here I come 😍 , I definitely agree with you, good advice to follow ❤ Congratulations again 🥂 xx

I was in a knitting slump so I started crocheting. Loved your suggestions, I fell into the knitting rabbit hole by trying to do a celebrity yearly KAL which were months ago, the whole knitting community is finished(I'm not) I've invested to much money and time to frog it, so it's hanging over my head till I finish it. You are so right knit what you enjoy, if you want to learn something new fine if not that's fine also. So now its simple what I really will enjoy and finish in a timely manner😊. Thank you. Oh that sounds lovely! I'm SO excited, it's weird... I didn't think I would be this excited, hehe. The swan doorstop is from the Knitter's Annual book by Louise Walker, it's one on my favourite knits for a long time!
Congratulations. I never knit garments. I knit and crochet what makes me happy like hats socks blankets and I knit for baby charities. I don't use expensive yarn either. Do what's good for you. Your crafting should be enjoyable not stressful. I like to sew but I never make garments either lol

I really appreciate this knitting yarn. You help me with I keep feeling low mood and depression and menopause problems..I started knitting myself new pattern dishcloth shawl pattern 😊

@NaomisNeedles when I start knitting for myself I look at what I can easy knit I beginners knitter. I started knitting shawl then I keep froging it back off....I have been knitting vintage cotton dishcloths for local cafe. But I only going to knit for myself and family

One thing you missed- if you’re in a slump… go out and buy yarn that inspires you! maybe it’s a new fiber, the color, or the texture! Sometimes when I’m in a slump I just need something fresh and pretty… a new texture in my hands to refresh and excite the senses! (And I’m also looking for any excuse to buy more yarn lol.)
