Macaque’s ‘deal’ with the Python Demon may very well be as consensual as Wukong’s ‘deal’ with the Tang monk when he had the headband forced onto him. The Nine-Headed demon could be misunderstanding Macaque’s initiation into servitude to the Python just as much as the brotherhood thought that Wukong willingly betrayed them to serve the monk (with Macaque interestingly enough being the only one to suggest otherwise, like maybe he remembered something similar happening to him👀). Wukong eventually did join heaven’s side, but it wasn’t willing in the beginning.
Macaque could have been bitten by the Python Demon, making their ‘deal’ an unwilling poisoning, and he doesn’t remember because it is the nature of the venom. Or maybe he does remember but was confused by the situation being called a ‘deal’ instead of a ‘curse’ or ‘venom’. Like he was injected with shadows and poisoned with the ability to control them because the power now unwillingly runs through his blood. But now he calls the powers his own.
The brotherhood all had reasons to fight heaven for their freedom, and maybe Macaque consciously/unconsciously sought out freedom too because his body remembers that he is bound to another demon and wants out? He feels trapped and doesn’t know why and doesn’t understand why Wukong’s talk about sitting in peaceful paradise is so appealing.
And then there’s the interesting bit of Wukong being a THIRD demon (after Python but before LBD) that Macaque doesn’t free from imprisonment, instead choosing to run away from them. The monkey has a bad habit of leaving his ‘heroes’ in cages. Macaque’s servitude to the lady bone demon and Wukong as their warriors was completely consensual, and he ran from them both. Maybe he ran from his first ‘deal’ too, and now that first deal’s cage has finally been opened by a third party just as LBD’s tomb was eventually opened and just as Wukong was eventually freed from the mountain. Mac had to start being a shadow with someone, and the Python could have been the first before he shifted to Wukong and then LBD…and now MK. Though, MK would be the first ‘hero’ that Macaque didn’t run from, since he stopped the kid from jumping into the pillar. Maybe he woke up his chaos powers because he finally added to the chaos of the story by taking independent, free action? Maybe, if he is cursed/poisoned/etc, he is finding the cure on his own? Maybe taking MK’s powers in their first meeting was a cure to the Python’s influence (light power to cure dark influence) just as the Samādhi Fire was a cure for LBD’s chains (fire power to cure cold influence)? (Or maybe Macaque is looking externally for the cure to self-hatred and needs some therapy?)
Or maybe the show runners are going to use the Python and its deal to make Macaque a symbolic Eve who ate the apple from the Tree of Knowledge, making him the Six-Earred Macaque - the one who understands and knows all thing past, present, and future? Maybe the gang is going to fight Satan next season, who knows

My theory is that Macaque made two deals. He made one with LBD to escape the Underworld and another to gain shadow powers.

    • @delilah1096

That can't be right. Lady Bone Demon wanted macaque because of his powers. He is the most useful because of his abilities, and it was made clear he had it before the LED'S deal. We don't really see it in the brotherhood, but the brotherhood make it clear He had those powers before

@MahiMahi-yu5jo which would make sense if what the story suggests is true. The story suggests macaque wanted nothing more than to fight with monkey king after watching him protect the troops (group monkies) for years. But his future past present bearing wasn't enough in his eyes so he made a deal to get stronger. People suggest macaque had white fur at one point, and a side effect of the shadow powers was hus for turning black

Also I think that Macaque might be incapable of dying. In JTTW Wukong didn’t just cross off his name from the book of life and death, but the names of all monkeys on earth. He wasn’t just afraid of dying, but was afraid of people he’d cared about dying before him. And since Macaque was friends with Wukong in the show, then he too should be unable to die as well. Otherwise the Underworld Kings would have captured him by now.

@@gracekim1998in the introduction of swk in jttw, swk rebelled against heaven and did more nefarious pranks which included crossing out his name. This is another incredible theory I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s completely accurate.
But if I could give my two cents about Macaque’s powers it’s possible that he didn’t make a deal to get his powers specifically, but to become stronger, since he like Wukong came into existence randomly, because of the excess energy (chaos) that needed a place to go so he was born with his powers and later made a deal to become stronger to keep up with Wukong.

One thing I realised while watching clips is that in the peach eating scene (the one in the scroll and special) is that his red masky-mark thing is less vibrant and more natural looking and it’s not the lighting because modern macaque is being hit by the same lighting and shading but his mask doesn’t change.
And even in the argument scene and brotherhood scene (from episode 2) his mask is still a different shade and less vibrant.
And it’s never due to shading or lighting because it’s ether the same shade as the peach eating scene (which is obviously different) or because modern macaque is there and his mask is different, even by only a little.
I’m not that great on theories but I do notice stuff so great?

      @@RVSketch sharing my own/old theory
I originally assumed that her “little people” were the current guardians because there were 5 of them, but it makes sense that it could possibly be different past guardians.
It's obvious there was another cycle before MK's because it’s known that Nuwa mended the pillar with the stones once, which implies a cycle being ended or broken. I personally believe that is when MK's cycle started, so Nuwa had time to make the harbinger or a new harbinger 👀 after the old one broke the cycle (as Nine is related to the being in Nuwa’s myth who broke the sky).
It would make sense for Nuwa to make a new harbinger because she’s trapped in that space between the chaos and the world (I can’t remember what they called it) after she sacrificed herself. And it was the start of the cycle because all the celestials from then remember it, including the (new?) guardians who would have been put in place around that time. The Vermilion Bird said, “Can you do as she did?” So, Nuwa sacrificed herself within that cycle. The cycle that broke is canon because it stopped repeating like Mks cycle had been, allowing the world to continue past it with a set past like Mks cycle broke. Nuwa created the cycle in order to protect her people from the chaos, so instead of the eventual end of the world, Nuwa made MK so that when the world ends, it is able to be reset back to when she first created that cycle. So, MK is made over and over to be born at the end of the world and reset the cycle.
My idea is that it makes sense that the reason Nine is so against control and Nuwa is that he could have been the past harbinger. It also aligns with the line he said, “There's no other way, or else I would have tried it,” or something similar, implying he’d tried everything MK had done but nothing worked to free himself and the world from the cycle. So, he resorted to letting the chaos in and aided or caused the collapse of the primordial cycle. This could have been done by him making a deal with a chaos being, as he assumed Macaque made a deal with someone-meaning he’s had experience with chaos deals. Either that means he made a deal or makes deals is up to interpretation. Or maybe both.
Which brings me to my next plot point: Nine unlocked or gave MK chaos powers because Nine had pushed them to the edge of and back into the world by launching MK away with his power in a single touch, his chaos powers were around MK and we see in the last scene of the show, MK’s staff crackles with the same energy, implying the power either messed with MK's staff or MK himself.
Which would be interesting, as Nine has already stated MK is related to chaos: “MK and the stone he was born from was created from a remnant of the chaos beyond,” or something similar. Meaning MK might have already had the powers within him and Nine only unlocked them. This also might be one of the reasons Nine is so interested in MK and was encouraging him to stop pushing away “pushing away the chaos, when the chaos makes them who they are.”
As you can tell I don’t really remember the exact words.
(Or I thought Nine could have been a past harbinger/sacrifice, which is why he’s so focused on Mk and holds a grudge against Nuwa. As Mk probably does now. Nine also said he was tired of being a hero 👀 history repeats man 🤷‍♀️)

@@RVSketch yeah! Something I noticed that might just be me looking to much into it. Is Wukongs staffs magic color used to be orange but over time its changed to yellow. And when mk and wukong were fighting. Wukong’s power was orange and Mk was yellow. So i was thinking maybe the staff changes with its wielder? I think if the chaos is just effecting the staff it would act more like a cursed item, corrupting the user. But I over analyze A LOT. It might effect wukong too which would be super interesting. Or it might be that Mk was effected and its effecting the staff too? Kind of like how Mei still has the samadhi fire but she channels it through her sword now.

I think the villain may actually be "Hundun" which is basically the only being I found that relates to the realms of chaos in Chinese Mythology.
Hundun is known as a primordial beast of chaos, having a featureless face which is important because since Hundun was basically all that exists in it's primordial state, nothing else could exist because nothing could be perceived (a featureless face meant nothing to perceive what was around them). The most common myths of Hundun I found are it's death and how it formed everything, the light parts to ascended and formed heaven while anything heavy fell and became Earth.
Granted I'm not super researched in this topic so I may have been wrong about multiple things but my bet is Hundun will be the next villain of LMK.

Interesting theory, though it does feel a bit messy that the snake demon would be just another of the five unless they're planning to explore each of the five for a season. I suspect though that whoever the "he" the 9 headed demon mentioned as 'winning' is the one that brought Macaque back to life, and did so without Macaque knowing who they were. And I have a feeling it'll end up being Pangu. He has the name recognition and is tied to the very start of creation (and in turn chaos). And in some myths, he also strongly linked to monkeys.
I do think you're right though that the sets likely tell us important information based on what's in the set, vs what actually happens in the show. And in that regard, I think it's rather interesting that one figure has appeared twice in sets, yet hasn't shown up in the show, outside of flashbacks, even though they're supposed to be incredibly important to JTTW. And that is Erlang Shen, the one human that was stronger than Wukong, and that Wukong feared.
There's a whole rabbit hole that you can go down with him as the guy has a huge amount of legends associated with him, but what is important here is that JTTW, through Wukong and Erlang serves as a passing of the torch and redefining of order vs chaos, primarily through water. Again, big rabbit hole, but long story short, floods in China are associated with chaos, and those that cause floods are often seen as creatures of chaos. This primarily goes back to Yu the Great, who helped stopped the great flooding/sleighed the great water dragon, and helped stabilise heaven by making a staff, the exact same one that Wukong use and MK use. He also fought a demon called Wuzhiqi, who is very important as they are the basis of Wukong conceptually. The original Wukong in a way. You might even say that that was the first cycle, one before the JTTW cycle. Wuzhiqi is also heavily associated with water, and thus chaos, and are sealed away under a mountain as part of the plan to stop the great flood, hence why many depictions of wukong also tie him to chaos and possibly what they're using as the basis for MK's connection to chaos. It also happens that the final big obstacle in JTTW to overcome is a giant water dragon.
As for Erlang, he's known as the 'other' flood guy in chinese history. The original Erlang helped stop another flood and then after that whenever someone stopped another major flood, they were believed to be a reincarnation of Erlang (likely the reason they didn't call them a reincarnation of Yu was because Yu became emperor and to say that you're the reincarnation of an emperor can cause quite a bit of trouble, which wasn't present with Erlang). Erlang thus became the guy most associated with protecting against chaos and so it was natural that when Wukong, a demon tied to water and chaos showed up, that Erlang was the one that countered him, and help seal him away based on his reputation for controlling floods.
Apologies for the rambling, though there's plenty more to delve into on the topic.

    • @RVSketch
      @RVSketch  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The "he" could also be Hun Dun 👀
Thanks for the info on Erlang Shen - that's really interesting! I do hope he appears in the show - and his dog 🐕

    • @Cakatarn1
      @Cakatarn1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@RVSketch Yeah, Huh Dun is another strong possibility, though I feel like if they did him, they'd connect him to other figures like they did with the 9 headed demon, since Hun Dun doesn't have too much much name regonition on his own. Maybe connect him to qilin, since they didn't appear like they were supposed to? Or I suppose Wuzhiqi is another possibility, though I do still prefer the idea that they were Wukong/MK equivalent in the cycle before the JTTW one. But maybe the idea the way they are intended to 'fix' things is by throwing the sacrifice into the chaos.
As for Erlang, well considering one of the two known sets for next year is called Erlang's Mech, it feels like there's a good chance he will show up. Rather than just being a character on the side of another set that the story writers might find too hard to fit in (like what happened last time Erlang was in a set, though I suppose he did get two frames in the show), I doubt they'd ignore a character that gets a mech. So I do think looking more into Erlang could be useful, though there's so much to his lore, and they might just go in a new direction anyway. It will definitely be interesting to see how they do him, since Nezha has kinda taken his role, and considering he wasn't around last season where you'd think he should be given the situation, I do fear they might make him the villain of the season.

This is part of the comment i made in one previous video:
Sun Wukong - Pride: This sin feats him, since in the past he was so prideful and that led him being trapped under the mountain.
Azure Lion - Wrath: He was mad about the fact, that the Celestials only cared for themselves. Also, we see him getting furious many times in the show. His wrath blinded him from seeing the Jade Emperor's real power.
Demon Bull King - Greed: I believe this sin feats him well, considering the fact he wanted to conquer Megapolis and perhaps all the realms. Basically, he wanted everything.
Six Eared Macaque - Lust: According to Wikipedia "Lust is a psychological force producing intense desire for something, or circumstance while already having a significant amount of the desired object". Macaque is equally powerfull to Sun Wukong, but still had the desire to be like him or even better than him.
Peng - Envy: I believe the reason why Peng were so mean to Macaque, was because they were jealous of his relationship with Wukong. Or they were jealous of his powers and to feel superior they kept saying mean things to Macaque to diminish him. So envy describes them pretty well.
Yellowtusk - Sloth: I had a hard time with the two last sins. However, after giving it to much thought, i realized that Yellowtusk didn't have a significant role in the series. Only operating the pilgrims' weapons and using them to sustain Azure Lion's new powers. Basically, he almost did nothing. That is why i connect him with the Sloth Sin.
Mysterious Member - Gluttony: As a sin basically is that you want something so bad, with the cost of not considering that someone else needs it more. So the last member, if they are the true villain of season 5, want to rule the Celestial realm or all the realms and they will use any method in order to achieve it. In this case, they manipulated Azure Lion into thinking, that by dethroning the Jade Emperor will help him end the Mortal Realm's suffering. However, he almost destroyed the universe.
I hope you like my analysis of the Brotherhood and the seven sins.

This is really interesting theories!! God it’s been almost four months since season 5 came out. And I’m still craving for more!! I want answers!!
And I want Wukong and Macaque full past!! And confrontation!!
Love your theory but I think I would like Macaque to be born with that power, like we all assuming, because then it will mean that his power has depth that even he doesn’t know about!!
Macaque was always literally in Wukong’s Shadow right? Did everything Wukong wanted him to do, so what if that stopped him from finding his true potential?
There is a lot that we don’t know about Macaque, What did he do before he met Wukong? Where did he get his lantern from? And on and on
And if he was born with a power that’s related to Chaos that might lead us to knowing HOW exactly he was born, we know the monkey king born from a stone, with golden powers that’s seems to be divine, so how was the six eard Macaque with the powers of darkness and shadows and apparently also chaos was born?
Also what if his powers being related to chaos made him lose control in that fateful fight, remember how he was Laughing so manically in the brief flashback?

I definitely like the idea that Macaque's chaos powers made him go crazy!
And I hope we find more about him and Sun Wukong's past in season 6 - so far the writers have just been giving us crumbs 😫
My personal theory for Macaque's origin is that he is/was a hair clone of Sun Wukong (and maybe the reason he made a deal in the first place was so he could become permanent/unpoofable).
I have already made a video on this theory, but I'm planning on remaking it sometime.

@@RVSketch you know I have a similar theory, though it might be unlikely, I still thinks it’s pretty cool.
My theory is that Wukong growing lonely in the mountains when there is no one like him, started to talk to his own shadow year after year the shadow start to manifest his own consciousness.

Idk if it changes anything in this theory but the Nine-Headed Demon's story is a strong reference to the Plato's cave, a philosophical concept coined in ancient Greece and if you haven't heard of it, pls search it up because I don't think I could explain it very well. I even read on Monkie Kid wiki that the mandarin dub used the name Plato's cave but I can't confirm that last part

Yeah, I did hear about that! I don't think it really affects my theory, but it is super interesting! I love all the references the writers and crew put into the show.

I think this theory has a 50/50 chance of being cannon and i think that mk and Macque might get possed by the Python because if macaque did make a deal with the python demon and doesn't remember it the reason why mk might get poessed is because in the episode macaque he puts his power into mk through touching him on his back and i think mks been subconsciously fighting off the python demon since the episode macaque and i think now that the choas is released i think mk and macaque will get possed and i do think Tang Pigzy and Sandy are the original pilgrims and ao lea is still out there somewhere without out his memories and i think the concept art and the red shadowclones where foreshadowing but who knows well have to see in season six but lemme know what you think in the comments

YOUUU’RE A GENIUS I’VE NEVER CONNECTED NÜWA SNAKE THEME WITH NHD!!💕💕 Although I would be interested what you think the very last scene of the season meant - chaos powers flickering upon the staff. It could show that the chaos is bleeding into the world but I’m curious if you think there might be another reason for that. There’s smth… intentional about it being the staff and not anything else but I could be reading to much into it :D

As I rewatched your video again. I had a thought going on in my mind. If NHD really is a guardian then wouldn't he already been gone by now?
think about it, we saw in season 5 ep 3 that Nüwa used the stones and herself to fix the pillar so wouldn't the guardians already been fated away because the time running out? It just got stuck in my mind as I thought it makes sense that way. The guardians now were also fating away because their time was up and had to give the gang the stones so wouldn't NHD fated away and give the stone to Nüwa to fix the pillar herself before fating away just like the guardians give the stones to Mk to fix the pillar too?
It also would make sense why the guardians trusted Mk the most because it was his destiny to began with just like the past guardians would give the stone to Nüwa because she was the creator of them all and Mk being connected to her as well so it makes EVEN more sense considering why the guardians would give Mk the stones and not other members of the Monkie Kid gang. Mk is connected to the Nüwa and I bet guardians know that very well of it because Mk was meant to be a sacrifies from the beginning but NHD wanted more for him then just Nüwa's new creation to sacrifies to the pillar of itself to fix it.

    • @RVSketch

The NHD said he went into the Chaos, but then came back and got stuck. Maybe the reason he didn't fade previously was because he was in the Chaos at the time 👀

I'm guessing there's like a TON of demons in JTTW that LMK has free range to pick from right? since I believe there was a companion story as well about the monkey king too. so there's a ton of material to work with still...plus the other mystical monkys from JTTW...I don't know if they'll be in this or if MK (Monkey Kid) replaces them both with his presence... and yeah speculating is fun :) (also happy you know about Ninjago too)

    • @RVSketch
      @RVSketch  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yeah, they really have _so_ much material to work with, as JTTW is in the public domain. There really is an absolute ton of demons in JTTW, and there's also a bunch of old unofficial JTTW spin-offs that are also in the public domain.
But I really hope they use the other two Spiritual Primates! We need more monkey people!

If he did die, I feel like it'd probably be that he was killed by a villain somehow.
