Great analogy re the fine wine :-). I have the V6 W211 E350 AvantGarde, nearly 20 years old and it’s always such a joy to drive-due to the design care, advanced refinement, convenience functions and loads of inbuilt safety, like the 10 air bags, etc.-plus it remains a great blend of classic and modern styling and still looks superb. When new in Australia 🇦🇺 in 2006 it cost about $140,000Au (very expensive) yet today it still drives and looks like new, yet the market value is now around $14,000, or a tenth the original price. The key to having it still drive like new is being prepared to spend, not scrimp, on regular maintenance every 6 to 12 months.
I’ve owned a W211 2005 E350 AvantGarde since 2015. It remains in superb condition at nearly 20 years of age and brings tremendous driving refinement and pleasure, 10 air bags and excellent crash test results. The superb condition is due to willingly spending on maintenance. Like your car and review very much :-) BTW, the trim is not “wood” it’s timber. Timber has been seasoned for up to 8 years and will not warp or crack. The “cracking” on your door is likely in the lacquer-someone possibly shoved the door hard directly over the timber strip. On your car, the panel with the locking control doesn’t seem to rise upward automatically to reveal a six-CD stacker. One problem to watch out for is exterior rubber weather strip deterioration.
@@Spartansrule118 fairly reliable so far in 10 years of ownership and always enjoyable. I have it serviced 6 monthly but can now drop back to yearly. It’s had well known problems like exterior rubber deterioration, the intake manifold tumble flap, the 7-G Tronic speed sensor/ conductor plate, the thermostat and catalytic converters. It’s only done 100,000 km (60K miles) and I ‘m hoping that the dreaded balance shaft drive sprocket won’t happen at any time. I understand that this major issue doesn’t affect every M272 V6-some say up to 20%… but if it does happen I have a great mechanic, experienced in that repair-I’d rather pay up for it, even though the car is nearing 20 years old and the repair will equal the car’s value-the car is in such nice condition now that it’s cheaper for me to stay with it rather than buy something else. Before the E350 I owned a very pleasant W124 300E which I reluctantly parted with when she was age 28 years. PS: just remembered two or three issues fixed with various front end upward/ downward facing links.
@@Michael.Chapman After reading your comment I searched online and read about the balance shaft issue. The entire car needs to be dismantled, sweet jesus. Would you rather recommend some other engine, like the version in E320? Or is E350 still the better choice?
@cookies7531 Hi! My dad owns a 2006 E350 Elegance and has had it for over 7 years now. It has driven over 210.000 km, and we've never experienced any major issues. We make sure it gets great service/maintenance. The only things that break are small stuff like tire pressure sensor, wash fluid sensor or a fog light. It has went on a tow truck once, but that was due to a flat tire. No major reliability concerns at all! Would definitely recommend. Note: it's a 2006 *facelift*, the pre-facelift tends to have more and bigger issues, at least, that's what we have read online.
There were 2 AMG packages i just found out, because I just picked one up for a daily driver, there's the appearance package and the Sport package or you can get both, mine cam with a stage one Eurocharged Performance ECU flash, so it has 268 HP at 5500, 278HP at 6000, and at 6200RPM 302 HP, with the charge 323 HP, because the sport package includes AMG exhaust .
I have the same car and AMG trim package, the same color. Except mine is not 4matic. I've received many compliments about the car from older and younger people. The only issue I've had with the car was the seat module going bad and draining the battery.
They are a lot of reviews about this car, but not a single review of you guys actually driving or have a driving footage of the car. If this car is still available, can you please make a driving footage?
The best review I’ve seen on the e350.
Best E Class Mercedes ever made.
This car aged like wine. it looks beautiful I'm surprised how cheap you can get them for!

Nice!
Any big reliability concerns that you had to have done?
Did it ever have to go on a tow truck?
Thanks

Nice!
I’d like to find one of those with low mileage and that color. It would match my SL500. Those are great cars. Nice video
I saw a green 2008 around 50K miles for $8,000 but someone snatched it up quickly
I have one same the same except mine is black interior and only 35k on the clock , cannot see me ever parting with it, huge car for small money
