This used to baffle me how Bernard got this sound when I started playing back when this song came out..'78. Thanks so much for teaching us this technique and with so much patience !!!
Hi,Dan! I am always grateful for your wonderful lessons. I couldn't hear Bernard's great bass play during his alive, but his great play still heats many Japanese! I will continue to respect your knowledge and skills for analyzing his wonderful techniques.
What a classic and am 100% behind reviving the 'Chucking' awesome breakdown of this nugget of Disco Gold... of course this is one of those techniques that hurts to get right.
I realy enjoy your vidéos. I learn a lot . Tu es un bon prof. J'aimerai savoir si on peut jouer une chanson entièrement avec la pentatonique. Ou bien la pentatonique c'est juste pour improviser
Thanks Dan for your great lessons. I have a request: would you make a video on how to practice with a looper? I have one in my Zoom pedal and I never know how to use it well.

Thanks for your lovely words, Moto! I would love to have seen him play live too.
Thanks Dan for another great video. Bernard Edwards is my favourite bass player. I really love learning more on his great playing technique.
He's one of mine too. Great player!
Way 2 go Dan !!!!!!
Thanks!

Let's bring the technique back! It does take a while to get it down but it's achievable with a bit of consistent practice.
Mr. John Taylor heard this in B'nard Edwards and put what he learnt to work. Funny how many songs can be made instantly funky with this line.
Hey Dan , great lesson again !
Thanks, my private bass teacher...👍

Many bass lines use the pentatonic - it’s not just for solos: th-cam.com/video/Nvx2RBBPJEk/w-d-xo.html
Great lesson. Please do a tutorial on Lee Ritenour - Mr Briefcase (David Hungate bassline)
Great song! Might be a bit long and involved but I'll put it on the list...

You're welcome! Thanks for the suggestion - this is actually on the list.
Great lesson thank you! May I ask if that is an active or passive Ray you are playing there?
Thanks! I believe all StingRays are active basses. Certainly these old ones anyway.
