For the last few hours I've been picking my way through your videos. I heard you first earlier today and can't stop listening! You seem to sing every one of my favorites, including this one! Your song choices are perfection and your performances are spot on! You are the real deal! You are the Songman!
In Shop Doorways, under bridges,in all our towns and cities. You can glimpse the makeshift bedding from the corner of your eye.Remember what you are seeing barely hides a human being. We're all in this together.Brother, sister, you and i.
so very good man, your guitar playing is so clean and your voice so soft and clear. Makes me wonder why I even try to play. keep it up look foward to all your uploads.
i've been a folk and country music fan for the better part of my life and Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Neil Diamond, Roger McGuinn and Peter,Paul &Mary and Liam Clancy and Eric Bogle and Tom Paxton... the list is endless.. are no strangers to my ears. but only this week have i discovered you, and enjoyed immensely. you are indeed one amazing singer and guitarist. can you also do more of the Liam Clancy and Mike Reilly and Eric Bogle stuff? Many Thanks!!!
Bought the album on I tunes a few days ago and haven't stopped playing it . I'd give my right arm to own a covers album from Mike S ... God bless you Mr Sinatra for making my life feel much better 😍
Sad songs are allways my prefered melodies. This ralph mc Tell song wakes up in me so beautiful memories from summers at the end of 70th years in France. Great sound, emotive voice and picking is so fluid.A fabulous moment to ear you, I go new step, to ear your interpretation of James Taylor songs, one of my favorite singer on the other face of the Atlantic (i'm french, sorry for my poor english). Thank's to my friend Lydia who move me towards these beautiful guitar cover
This song is really in your soul! Cheerful tune with sad lyrics. When I lived in England I heard Tom Paxton for the first time on record....you remind me of him, though it´s not a Tom Paxton song originally...just a blend of my own memories; your voice and the tune....
I recently did this same song IN MY BATHROOM (lol - the video of it is on my humble channel). I’ve been playing and singing it since I was about 16 (I’m an old boy of 63 now), but goddamn it young Mike, as I don’t have a fraction of your talent my effort isn’t a bloomin’ patch on this one of yours!! So very well done matey. This was a great rendition of a beautiful old classic song and I loved it. Thanks for letting me listen.
@@songmansinatra120 Damnit even MORE then cos you LOOK a darn sight younger than me too!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Take care Mike and keep your music coming please my friend.
Hi, Mike: This was truly amazing, as usual. I have to say, though, for all I thought I knew about music, I don't think I'd ever heard this song. So, thanks for introducing it to me.
Mike: Forgot to mention of another Ralph McTell song that I like very much and maybe you might enjoy it, (if you don't already know it). It is a song of his called, "Barges." There are two versions on TH-cam by Ralph. One from his early album called, Not Till Tomorrow" and another updated version from his album called "Silver Annivesary." There is one line in the song that is very sad, "Thinking of Mama, sometimes in my dreams." Linda
+Richard Kneller This and "Leonard Cohen - Hallelluja" are the songs i can't stop my tears. Many emotions attached to the songs. Great! And this is a very good cover too.
Thanks for sharing all of your beautiful songs, Mike. You not only have a beautiful voice, you sing with good technique. And you make guitar playing look so easy. I have a special request, when you have time, would you please try to sing "nobody's child"? THANKS.
