Good question! There was definitely a disconnect with 12 and 13 getting on their heels. Perhaps 13 could have stayed a bit closer to his inside man to force the wide play and, therefore, the opportunity to push across. Also, once the linebreak happened, there was a bit of an overchase from #11, with his hips facing the sideline, making him vulnerable to the step, which happened. What are your thoughts?
Newport's 13 overstimated his inside teammate and didn't work to cover the first threatening option (inside looped ball) Should have stayed with number 12 and let his outside defender cover the threat out wide. Also the last defender (is it 11?) has a bad body position so he gets bypassed without even the ability to tackle. They should have gotten a tackle somehow, probably the defensive play should be catching all the inside attackers and looping runners and leave the space out wide for the 14 and 15 (the widest one marking 2 players in zone) and then after getting that tackle the number 9 has to run like a madman to re-position himself on the first line, me thinks
1) keep making this kind of thing. 2) who's the Dragons player left marking the 10 instead of Adams? And is he to 'blame' here or is there something else Dragons could have done? This looks almost undefendable the way it's presented...
Thanks! I am glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for taking the time to watch. The disconnect between Dragons 12 and 13 is where the trouble happened. The 12 was biting in and the 13 was starting to go wide and that made the gap even bigger. Maybe a tighter connection between 12 and 13 with a view of pushing the attack wide could have helped the Dragons here. Another aspect is that 10,12 and 13 all went on to their heels (not a dynamic movement/tackling position) so that added to the issues. I am sure the 'D' coach will not be happy looking back at this one.
If the Dragons 13 had stayed connected though, would Cardiff have used the 10 running wide instead and had a 3v2 wider out? Or was the ball always going to Adams do you think?
Great analysis of this try, it's fantastic to have a fit and firing Josh Adams back. 💙🖤
Thank for taking a look! I agree- good signs for Wales. He's a top player!
What would be your opinion of the defensive mistakes that was almost as interesting?

Beautiful try!
Remember when Wales were good at rugby?
Thanks for taking a look- it was fun to break down! A lot of pressure on Wales this coming 6N!
Anyone else seeing 13 being in front of the final pass and obstructing one of the defensive line?

Love that! Thanks for sharing and taking a look at the video!
God that's such a deceptive line.
Thanks for taking a look 👀

So Wales have one decent player 🤔
He’s top class! I like Wainwright, too!
