Hello! Is your sound still broken? I found a fix! Go to settings, go to advanced then to the bottom! Click restore settings to their default, this will remove extentions, but passwords will be saved, or you can use other search sites, hope this helps!
What worked for me is 1. Press start or search thing on your pc or laptop 2. search sound settings 3. Scroll down till u see advanced sound options and press on App volume and device performance 4. scroll down and press reset And your done hope this helps! :)

chrome doesn't appear there or the volume mixer, Okay just restart chrome a few times and it will probably appear and set the default to the speakers you use and that's the fix
I have a problem that I don’t think somebody have. When I open TH-cam in chrome I can hear the first video, but when I open the second video there’s no sound. I don’t see something muted. I tried to uninstall chrome but it didn’t help. So if someone here knows what’s the problem plz help me.
Jaroslav Letiagin I had this problem and uninstalled my realtek speaker driver. TH-cam works fine now and everything else seems fine without the driver intstalled! Hope this helps

Thank you!! I hadn't had any audio on TH-cam for 6 months. My problem was the bottom right hand bottom corner speaker icon. I opened it up and sure enough Chrome had the red circle, so I clicked on that and went back to TH-cam and now I have audio again!!

Thanks for the video. I did all of these but none worked for me but still appreciate it. If anyone else is seeing this and none of the solutions worked for you, I have another solution! I recommend downloading CC cleaner, it's free, then doing a registry scan, fixing all bad registry then clicking clean, which will remove all cookies and site data, my problem was Google's cookies somehow became corrupt and disabled sound. After I ran a CC clean scan and registry scan my sound was back for Chrome. Like this so others can see.

Thank you for the video I have Windows 11 on an ASUS ZenBook My speakers are working well with all applications instead of Chrome! A few weeks ago, Chrome stopped playing sound through speakers but only through headphones. Edge play with both speakers or headphones. I did all you recommended. I read in Microsoft and did it, I watched many videos on the subject “Chrome stop sound....” etc. I updated the driver of Realtek Realtek recognise when I plug in or out the headphones and thats all. Chrome appear in the System > Sound > Volume mixer in both cases as well I reinstalled Chrome. Unfortunately, I still do not have sound on speakers from Chrome just through headphones. Before a few weeks, all worked well and I do not remember doing any strange install/uninstalls on my laptop. Can you advise me please what more I can try to fix this issue?

All of your audio files listed in the JavaScript code MUST be named as HTTPS, not HTTP. And obviously, that means the website(s) you are linking to (including yours) must be secure. That is, you need to have your security certificate, and make sure it is activated. It's a security issue with Chrome. I hope that helps. God bless.

Someone out there will need the below. Every video i hit up looking for a fix gave me the fix in the video which didn't work for me personally. However, if you just type Volume mixer into your start bar it will bring up app volume device preferences. Here you may find that the chrome app is showing as muted. I unmuted this and got a mechanical sound, but there was sound. Simply restart Chrome from here and hopefully you are up and running.

At the top of Chrome in the little tab there is a volume icon that should allow muting an individual window. It doesn't work in Chrome on my new or old imac. It did work in Firefox on my old imac? Man every fix is a huge process? On my old imac I thought my OS was just so out of date stuff was not working but I can't deal with stuff not working on the new imac after spending all this $$$!

Hi, I tried to do FB Live and then share the screen using pc. I played videos from fb, twitter and youtube but when I checked the fb live later, I realized that it has no sound. Though I can clearly hear myself talking. Please help me fix the problem. I use headphone as my audio source and then I tried to use a speaker but still the results are the same. I also check the sound settings as you suggested but still No Sound.
Probably all that happened in most cases when there's no sound for a video in Chrome is the user simply right clicked on a Chrome browser tab and selected Mute Site. If the user has multiple tabs open to, say, TH-cam, they all get muted. That's because the option is not Mute Tab, but Mute Site. Anyway, if one leaves the browser open day after day, it's easy to forget one has muted a site.

@britec09 my sound is fading away in chrome. So if there is no louder sounds, just background noice in the video the audio slowly fades away. Then when something more loud is playing, lets say someone in the video starts talking. Then the audio turns up again. I have tried to reinstall and it wont work. In different browser the sound is working normaly. Any ideas?

So I got to the end and the Volume mixer for google was not muted but there is still no sound. What now lol?

google text-to-speech settings is not working on chrome pc .On the search bar of Google Chrome when I do text to speech it is not typing my words i've looked into the settings and it still won't work it was working yesterday but it's not doing anything today I need help.
yea just had this problem but im on microsoft edge it will play music on my DAW system but wouldnt play sound on youtube, it just randomly stopped working then randomly started working again
