Right. There are so many stories within the halo universe they could tell or build up to be a side story game. I guess we’ll see if the new management at 343 is as incompetent as its original team. Just glad Bonnie and frank are gone holy fuck they were both some awful diversity hires… frank o Connor should be sued lmfao for swapping the Easter eggs and making one of himself and axing the original credits on mcc. Dudes a cuck and a criminal
Do not associate fanfiction with the TV show, there are actually numerous decent and good pieces of fanfiction, they don't deserve to be lumped with thing we got as a show.
I think a battlefield type game set during the human covenant war would be a huge success. You could pick from different classes of marines, like battlefield, but you could also get the options of playing as an odst or spartan if you played well enough, like battlefront.
This would work very well with map design, imagine you are the UNSC team and your objective would be to destroy the enemy AA plasma guns, that would be awesome, the maps are almost built for this because they are very open tbh
Let's honestly be real here: No matter how hard we scream for all of this, none of this is going to happen because of a very simple fact: Microsoft and 343 DO NOT CARE. If both parties cared, we'd be seeing new and exciting material on a regular basis but their current mindset of hesitancy and laziness has convinced them to continue making numbered entries only. Spin offs arent possible with MS current status as a gaming company. With all the nonsense and lies they pulled with the closure of Tango and a bunch of others, especially when one of those studios had a breakout success of a game...Do you really expect them to want to take risks? I think we both know the answer to that. With CoD being owned by MS, that's all they will care about going forward whilst all their mainline original IPs are left to die either because of bad design or bombing because of Day One Gamepass. I absolutely understand your passion and alot of others but we do need to face the reality of things. The best thing for those who actually care, is to focus on getting people to play more of MCC because that is where Halo can flourish as an IP slowly turning into a niche. That's the best shot for the IP under MS and 343s absolute mess of handling this franchise.
You really hit the nail on the head here. Getting a mainline game every 5 years only for it to release unfinished just isn’t doing it anymore. Halo’s community is so incredibly alive, especially considering it’s survived through MASSIVE droughts and disappointments. So getting these smaller projects in-between is such a natural fit for this community, seeing as we’re always grasping for more Halo content, whatever it may be. And Halo getting its own Andor would go so unbelievably hard😭
*"I burn my life, to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see."* Andor is deadass the best thing to come out of the Star Wars franchise (asides from Season 7 of the Clone Wars) since the Disney acquisition. Playing as Chief or a Spartan often feels like the battles are being glamorised, if that makes sense? You rock up, blow up the bad guys in a few minutes, save the day and then ride off into the sunset. Whereas, I want a Halo story that has you in the trenches, seeing everything up close, battles are long, gruelling and often lead to a loss. There's no Master Chief coming to save the day - but there's still an inkling of hope. I want to see how the normal citizens of humanity live, knowing that at any random day, a fleet of ships could jump out of slipspace and destroy everything and everyone you've ever known and loved.
I just don't think spin offs or this expansion of Halo's universe will happen the way we would like it as long as microsoft continues to be in charge and 343 continues to remain incompetent. Halo Infinite and the Halo tv show are clear signs no one knows what they're doing with Halo and hearing that a Halo CE remaster or remake just makes me even more skeptical. I mean whose to say it wont just be another "reaching of the broader audience" type game with battle passes, shops and the sweaty sprint/slide mechanics that put people off from Halo Infinite in the first place? Whose to say it wont butcher the story or rather just be more retconning of Bungie's Halo in an attempt to replace it with 343's own incomprehensible stories that nobody has liked ever since Halo 4 and beyond? Of course... then there's Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard along with other studios that just tell me they're not interested in expanding on Halo or rather fixing the damage that's been done... they would rather focus on pushing things like Call of Duty for game pass... trust me, I want Halo to be good again but history has made me extremely skeptical about any new Halo content coming out. I cannot relate to other Halo youtubers expressing joy or excitement at a Halo CE remake or remaster along with the "future of Halo". I'm just waiting for 343/Microsoft to prove me wrong (which I want them to do).
Well said, if halo were to succeed from here on out it would be via intervention from the fans We as a fan base need to pull our resources and skills together to make some form of content to raise money and buy the halo iep and then make the games and other content we want The the best way to get this mindset going and organized (that I can think of) is to have a collective of TH-camrs and thier community’s come together and look into what we would need
If Halo Wars 3 counts, then I'm all for it We still have MCC, so the proven Halo games are there. And the Rated-T-E-Sports-Infinite is still around too. I've been disappointed so much for so long that I don't trust that Halo 6 will inspire me
I mean...Halo Wars 2 is IMO the best 343-era Halo (and I'm giving that to Creative Assembly), so that tracks. But realistically, I think Halo's future is just the dumpster at this point.
I want to see other developers make games based off the Halo IP from Indie devs to guys like either Grasshopper Manufacture/Platinum Games or Microsoft's other 800 studios like ID Software. Unfortunately it's so damn unlikely.
I think I rather make an original sci-fi shooter without aliens or make them rare but the real enemy is terminators but not make them all silver and grey, I’ll do it someday with my company
I have been yelling for years now since halo 3 odst, I want to see a halo flood horror game where you play as an odst. You got limited ammo and you gotta find health packs to regain health and gonna replace the filters on your helmet or something. It can start as fighting the covenant but just like in 3 the flood just show up. Now it’s a fight to extract from the overrun city. The multiplayer can be similar to left 4 dead campaign.
Thanks for showing RingWorld: Alpha and crediting it in the video. We are working hard to create an authentic Halo experience built by fans for fans. Love the video, keep up the good work!
Halo Wars 3 ODST 2 (obviously not with Rookie) Flood Survival Horror Stealth focused Elite game 3rd person hack and slash/shooter Elite game Kilo 5 focused games These are just a few ideas. Halo is so RICH with content to explore and expand. Also, I think different devs might alleviate some of those rigid expectations of a Halo game for it to ONLY follow Chief and stay with the relatively same gameplay model.
An open world adventure in the vein of Fallout that takes place on a ring. A VR game, even if semi on rails that includes piloting/driving/turret gunning and some on foot defense missions. Headhunters game. Insert, work your way to the HVT, kill and move to extraction.
I want halo games that also adapt the novels/media(exception the recent TV show) into a game as well. They should take that opportunity but I doubt it that will be very unlikely but who knows. Its also can be very good starting point for newer fans introduction to halo
@@megaman37456343 management has been notoriously awful. Can’t say as for their new management but I mean hiring indie devs as private contractors to save money and only giving them 6 months a piece to work on a 6 year project… how incompetent can you be? A chimp with a machine gun would know that’s a bad idea
I know it will never happen, but I would love to see a game centered around the storyline of our favorite, cigar chompingest sergeant, A. J. Johnson. I imagine it starting with flashback missions during his time as a marine, onto his ONI black ops days. Maybe some Orion stuff sprinkled in, with the climax of the game being his actions on Harvest. Could bridge the gap between those who want something new, and those who want the familiar.
I think it might have been you who said this in a previous video, but I would love to see a covert ops/ wave shooter headhunter game. Almost like how payday you can go in quiet or loud, I want to see one where you can go solo, or duo (with a bot or other player) to do missions and by playing you can unlock cosmetics for your spartan or better gear to bring in for the next mission. I think this could be lots of fun
I would like to see a Hell Let Loose style PVE game with Helldivers attributes. 40-60 players as Marines. Classes with corresponding loadouts and limited seats for each squad such as machine gunners, demo, medics, etc. Unlockable content for weapons/gear but also customization. Squad leaders have command chat for coordination, and there's points the squad accrues still maybe. Except, each squad has a combat controller who calls in Helldiver-type strategems like airstrikes, barrages, resupplies, and so on. Campaigns and operations would be dynamically unfolding, like Helldivers. Multiple fronts in different biomes for map diversity. Different difficulties with varying enemies, vehicles, etc. Maybe you've got 4 Scarabs on the field tearing house. Are you using your resources smartly? Air power, tankers, and so on. You could spawn from an Elephant or 2 in the rear. Or mass respawns from Pelicans. Not sure on all that, but im open to ideas. All vehicles are operated in the FPP. You're not demigod Spartans anymore, you're just regular dudes. Gotta move guys, supplies, or equipment to strategic locations? Load up the Razorback! You could probly still do some ODST shit, but it's just 4 guys who drop in behind enemy lines with a special goal in mind. Taking out AA guns or assassinating a commander, and it'll impact the mission for the Marine players. I could go on and on but this is running long 😅
“Miranda winks at you. Do you: A.) wink back under your helmet B.) tell her “you have your mother’s eyes” Or C.) Send her straight to Valhalla for interfering with the mission”
I genuinely do not want any more spartan games for awhile. Marine or ODST, being the underdog, that's the moneymaker. Tone down the scale and focus on a fleshed out aesthetic and tone, have the spartans feel badass and unique again with only one or two being made present. Halo Unto Dawn was an underrated movie that I wish the games did more of. If that was a game, and we had a unique relationship system with our squad, having to fight by them until they live or die, that'd be a great tone shift. More unexplored Spartan 2s with only brief cameos of recognizable characters, Chief doesn't need to be in EVERYTHING. He's one supersoldier, and a legend. Make his appearances more of an occasion. There's so much wrong with Microsoft's Halo philosophy. They need more Halo dedicated studios, and less oversight from studio executives.
I would pay a lot of money for an Ace Combat styled arcade flight game with a campaign, vehicles, multiplayer, etc. Including: The Longsword family The Baselard The Nandao Some Pelican gunship types The Broadsword The Sabre Shortsword bomber Hornet/Falcon/Wasp (maybe?) And covenant air/space craft like Banshees, Phantoms, Seraphs, etc.
I had an idea for a flood outbreak game where you can play as UNSC or covenant, pretty simple, you are put on a pretty big map and the flood are spreading, you and your team have to stop the spread, there are also Covanent and UNSC bots that can be infected, you can build defenses and explore and complete objectives to stop them from spreading, you could also maybe control squads of AI, if the flood spreads to much then you lose, this could explore how the flood develops and evolves, a smaller game where you are in some facility and you have to survive would be kinda fun but it would be harder to show how the flood works and evolves so it would be cooler if it was a more open sandbox with horror elements.
Honestly we are in this major crossroads situation with so many franchises right now, I feel that there will be detailed documentaries about all of this... entertainment chaos? 20 years from now. I don't know how to describe it, since it's something so widespread that not one thing is to blame or point the finger at. It's multiple people and companies responsible.
This franchise has been on dire need of another developer since Bungie left. I'm not even saying to drop 343 (though at this point, is hard to argue why they shouldn't be) just have another studio also working on games a la Infinity Ward and Treyarch for Call of Duty. Sadly i'm not sure if we are too late to see anything like that. I will be surprised if Halo holds anywhere the same level of priority for Microsoft at this point with so many studios and more popular IPs on their hands.
Man i wished they could do a Halo Lengends 2. Its been a decade and theyre a whole new generation of artists that can add theyre flavor to halos expansive universe.
I think a Dragon Age: Origins-style RPG where you can play as a variety of different species/factions could be pretty interesting. Between the UNSC, shattered remnants of the Covenant, the Banished, the Sangheili, and human insurrectionists, there's a lot of potential for different sorts backstories and questlines. Get some great writers to bulk-up the worldbuilding and characterization, and we could get some fascinatingly diverse story arcs. On the gameplay end of it, different species/faction origins could counterbalance your character's stats/gear (Kig-yar: Increased accuracy, lower health, bargaining/theft buffs, etc), as well as affect their relationships with other characters and factions throughout the game.
L4D-esque Halo Game against the flood. You can play of 5 classes; Elite, Jackal, Brute, Grunt, Marine. You must survive the treacherous flood together with unique abilities tailored to each class. Jackal could have a speciality with rifle type weapons and snipers, also having an ability to spot "special infected" flood types. Brute is your heavy hitter, more melee focused and has a special ability of beserking. Elite is your more jack of all trades type of class, good in almost everything (don't know what special he could have though, any suggestions?). Grunt... He's small, hardly noticable. A sneaky type class able to squeeze passed places others can't, speciality could be something like a sneak ability or he could have a retreat ability where he runs away when activated (this character will have a heavier equipment load then the rest, can carry mutiple weapons and items for players). And the Marine class... I have know idea, this is just my stupid idea haven't really thought that far ahead 😅
This is a great video man I'm happy to have found you a few months ago you are a great voice and Halo Community without being a complete annoyance. You actually put up a competent discussion not an argument. I have the same thoughts about Halo games for years. I've made multiple friends watch Halo Legends that don't even play the main Halo games that have only played one or two matches and they have watched Halo Legends multiple times now
I’d love to see a game expanding on the team elements in halo 5 campaign sorta like republic commando but you play as some Spartan 3 fireteam in SPI armor or the odst squad etc etc
I would love an “Xcom” style halo game where you oversee a strike team of Spartan 3s during the height of human covenant war. Complete with spartan customization and adding new Spartans to replace your “missing in action” ones.
I really believe the community is single-handidly carrying Halo rn. You along side it. I love all of your videos, man! Each one is very fun to watch and listen to!
Great video as always man 👍 I've desperately wanted a game focused on the Blooding years and the Elites rebuilding after the Schism. That or a game version of the book Envoy. That was a kiskass story that understood the basics of the Halo story.
Haven't started the video yet but just from your title and thumbnail I can also say that I believed Mass Effect had a future in spinoffs after the third game. I thought Mass Effect was going to be like Star Wars before the sequels. Countless events happening years before the reaper invasion while playing other characters beside or totally seperated from the mainline games.
Agreed... I still say it is almost criminal we never had a Kig Yar Space Pirate game in the mold of Mass Effect 2/ Extraction Shooters. Imagine looting worlds involved in massive firefights before they get glassed using whatever race/unit you managed to recruit, trying to escape flood infested Asteroids, raid planets like Reach or Harvest, orbital stations, or ships. Alternatively UNSC vs the Separatist faction could be as reinvigorating as the WW2 CoD games were for that series.
Shooting humans in halo sounds great but only shooting humans would be kind of boring for halo game imo, part of what makes the games so good is the variety of things to shoot at. A space pirate game however, that does sound very cool.
@@gavinrobinson8925 true, which is why I suspect any UNSC/Separatist game would involve space combat as well as a different UI for either a more puzzle based game, an X-com like TBS/RTS, or something else to justify the mechanics like a "zombies" mode. Likely the weapons loadout would be dumbed down as well with various melee weapons and weaker weapons in general to start with.
@@michaellane5381 Ok, now I'm just confused. Do you want a puzzle game, an RTS or a fps with a firefight/zombies mode? And why a zombies mode for a separatist game? Wouldn't that make way more sense for a flood spin-off?
@@gavinrobinson8925 my answer is yes, I would want any of the above(one at a time obviously, not all in one game), as for zombies, because of the limited toolkit, if your weapons suck and the zombies have a lower ceiling it completely changes the game from a zombie centric game where we play as Spartans, infection forms and pure forms become much scarier while the normal combat forms seem less scary holding weaker weapons, which allows for better scaling diversity.
Folks have been asking for a Helldivers/Battle Royale ODST 2 for the longest time. I for one wanted Halo to try different camera angles like over the shoulder 3rd Person Shooter Style or an XCOM Halo Tactics Game. What Halo really needs right now is to just have us make our own character again.
Not super analytical or anything, but here's my (mostly rambling) thoughts (very large comment btw). While I agree that 343 is at fault for a lot of decisions, and there are some creative liberties that I think shouldn't have ever been taken, I think it's not entirely 343's fault. Microsoft is in my opinion, equally if not more responsible for the state of halo compared to 343. Forcing games to come out when they're not ready, the overreliance on contract work and the recent layoffs have done nothing but hinder the studio. Another thing that I feel has contributed, if indirectly, is the community. The halo series at every turn has been dogpiled by a very loud part and very resentful part of the community. I certainly don't think it's entirely unwarranted, but the sheer amount of hate and vitriol that 343 receives, and the extreme overreaction made by the community to every little thing can't be good for anyone (especially with the community's habit of digging up old drama just for the sake of it as of late). While I agree that there is potential in halo spin-offs, I fear that such a venture will keep following the spiral that each game has been going through. Pierre Heinz is certainly a big change that may just be the big shake up that halo needed, but it could also just as well not be the case. To elaborate, having a change in leadership is bound to bring some form of change to halo (especially is the UE5 rumours are true), however, it's clear that something needs to happen with the publisher that allows the development for halo to become easier. Contract work for example, is a relatively inexpensive way to create manpower behind the creation of a game, but obviously the drawbacks are in trying to then make up for the lost talent once contracts expire. Additionally, Microsoft needs to pull a helldivers 2 and just give 343 the time that they need to complete the game to a standard that both they and we feel comfortable with (we really don't need another repeat of MCC). To address a singular point in the video, first, I'll discuss what I agree with. "These Innovations cemented what a mainline Halo game should be, a feature rich experience with lots of replayability and a variety of modes that fans expect" Individual halo players will all have a unique preference for their ideal experience. A game should absolutely be able to cover the bases and provide basics such as forge, btb and a mix of core arena modes at launch, which then allows more specialised modes to then be added later if they aren't already in the game (for instance, warzone or griffball, which are niche adaptations of some base game-mode), plus a mode that operates as the 'big one' similar to warzone from 5 or invasion from reach. Now what I disagree with, "Does this mean that fans have overly high expectations? No I don't think that they do I think it's perfectly acceptable to expect a feature in a new title that was included at launch in a game from over a decade ago on Hardware that was far more limiting than what we have now" While I stated that halo games should absolutely release with all the core experiences to facilitate the general halo population, I absolutely think that the [loud side of the] halo community have an 'all or nothing' mindset. It's perfectly reasonable to expect a mode at launch, but too many people all want every single thing to be in the next halo. There is a certain expectation within the halo community that every game has to be the next smash ultimate of the series, while also sticking to extremely short active dev cycles (because lets face it, there's no way that infinite took 6 years of dev work without any form of project cuts, missteps or delays), while also expecting every halo to innovate to some degree with completely new and never before seen content. In addition to that, while the tools for developing games have become more and more accessible and much easier to use, with hardware that is more capable of handling larger and larger projects, the general amount of effort that goes into making a game and the general expectations of games has only risen. Every generation of games is expected to be some big leap in fidelity, resolution, poly counts, etc. which leads to a large slowdown in the overall speed per task (which is mitigated somewhat due to the concept of multitasking). To both bridge off the talking point of the community and to bring it all back to the context of the potential of a spin-off, I feel that whatever 343 puts out, no matter how good, will always have that specific group of very loud and extremely persistent players who make post-launch living hell, whether it's due to overreporting minor issues or overstating the good, stirring up drama and harassing developers and general non-constructive activity that disrupts developer-community interactions and reduces the overall cohesion within the community. How can we meaningfully give feedback that can both give valid and constructive views on the next spin-off or the current release when it is constantly buried by absurd requests, constant conflict and polarisation within the community itself. While it certainly doesn't excuse 343 overcompensating for specific feedback, it's a miracle that 343 gathers any data at all. Anyway, those are just my rambling thoughts that could probably be synthesised better, but I started this a while ago and I just can't be bothered (I started this at 2am and am finishing it close to 4:30am). Yes, I'm sure that a lot of what I've written absolutely won't be interpreted by some people the way I intended it to be interpreted (This is supposed to be neutral for a majority of it, I'm not going to hide the fact that I have done and still do sympathise with 343 outside of the old leadership and the poor decisions made by people under their leadership) and there are absolutely points I will have forgotten to express or will not have thought about until much later. Anyway, if you've read this far, then I've at least piqued your interest or have at least invoked some kind of response from you that you had the forethought to let yourself read all the way through to make the most of your reply to this. Either way, thanks for reading through my sleep deprived ramblings. I think I've gone on for long enough, but I'll part with some interesting links that discuss some of the topics that I present in much greater detail, or just explore the tangent/concept. i cant wait for part 2! loved this first half. i personally would love to dive into the more darker and grittier aspects aswell, between the ruthlessness and ferocity of the banished, or the nightmarish horrors that are the flood, halo needs to feel terrifying again. id definetly love to see more insurrection battles too, especially mainly playing as an odst/marine, but save a few moments for spartans to really highlight how much more powerful they are. overall, loved the video and the ideas my man!
Thank you! I'm right there with you. Halo has always struck a fine line between cartoony while also being a gritty, military sci-fi. I wish it would swing back towards the darker tones that games like Reach and Halo 4 had.
I think it would be nice to see a halo game get made from EA with a bf2 to bf4 styled campaign where we play as a marine or an odst with the battlefield multi-player
ive always thought that a battlefield war stories like halo game would be really cool not one main campaign but 3-4 smaller mini campaigns each telling new and different story
I would like to see a Halo in game style of Helldivers - and a game that mixes FPS with RTS like Silica. I would also like a Halo game similar to Alien Isolation. The potential is endless, I don't understand why 343 have been so bad with this. ArmA like Halo game? Yeah!
Fantastic video! Completely agree! The release of hell divers 2 and the leak that 343 had rejected the idea of an ODST sequel shows they aren't interested in making spin offs. They are wrong but they aren't interested. Personally I think they should have done an ODST sequel as well as a Jerome/Isabel spin off game because the core lime of games have a set expectation and narrative. As an original fan, I feel 343's games have been poor compared to what Bungie gave us. I'd like to see the IP taken over by a different studio, but that won't happen.
After Infinite’s great campaign and the cry from fans for a new game or dlc it’s clear a mainline title is the direction to go in. But spin-offs would be amazing. Whether it’s from 343 directly or another studio with their oversight. The only problem is that it feels like 343 is backed into a corner as the fanbase is so divided and when they do anything it feels like some portion isn’t happy. Idk I am hoping for the best because I love this series.
Very based take, Halo was at its best when it didn't orbit the Master Chief, he just happened to be one of the best spartans and in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately from a Microsoft marketing perspective, MC is essentially an advertiser's wet dream, an iconic character that will sell copies no matter what "just because". It's a safe bet, but it kills creative originality. It's an industry-wide issue - hell, even music, cinema and TV are suffering the same curse of measuring everything in terms of "sellability", seen through the eyes of business schoolers who've never even played the games in question. Corporate consolidation under late capitalism, in this case of the gaming industry, inherently brings these issues to the fore, ironically due to a lack of competition, the very thing the free market is supposed to provide. As we trend towards monopolisation, so too will we see the rise of the "undead" franchise, that's kept on life support but never allowed to die nor evolve, because any risk would look bad to shareholders. The ebb and flow of the artistic medium has become dictated by a managerial class of people who know the price of everything, and the value of nothing... But to end on a more hopeful note, gimme Halo Reach 2 (just another game with Spartan IIIs doing crazy dangerous stuff), or XCOM 3: Halo edition, or Helldivers: ODST (what it should always have been)... Halo CE, but from the parallel story of the marines/ODST at Alpha Base's perspective... Or how about freaking Dark Souls: Trials of the Arbiter where we go to the Elites' planet in their medieval pre-spaceflight era, with MGSV/Assassin's Creed type gameplay, the Halo 2 artstyle, and a massive, lore-rich story with soft role-playing elements. It can end with the Prophets landing, marking the start of the Covenant...
I want a Halo TV series that is is called “Spartans.” Each episode shows a spartan or spartan team doing a mission. Each episode is its own little arc with the main overall arc progressing. Like imagine the Mando show but one episode is Linda sneaking on a covenant cruiser to plant a bomb, next episode could be a spartan 3 team extracting a government official. I miss episodic shows that each episode had its own enclosed arc not knowing what you might get next week. The format would allow to explore the lore and characters in a more engaging way than what the heretic paramount created.
I mean it woudnt be crazy for the mainline games to only have the multiplayer stuff. And you have all of it at launch (all matchmaking modes, forge, theatre, progression system, file share exc) Another camp makes just campaigns. This could include campaign expansions (such as for infinite) or side games such as ODST
343 should've left Chief and Cortana in the split Forward Unto Dawn for a book, animation, or a GOOD TV series to finish that plotline. I would've loved games set during the Forerunner-Flood war and see the Halo Array under construction. Or a game featuring Thel 'Vadam on Madrigal. Anything other whatever Halo 4 started.
Imagine an MMO kind of like destiny where you could be like a spartan, brute, or elite. that shit would go so fucking hard, complete customization of your character!! I would die for a game like this
Im gonna be a dementia-ridden great grandparent by the time we get some good fucking food from this studio. And worse, i’ll probably just mistake it for bungie work and that im back in the 2000s
343 made an actually good character like Master Chief I can only assume by accident and aren't capitalizing on him Jerome. I would love to see a spin off or something where you play as Jerome in first person or something give him his own thing
To this day is still mind blowing how badly 343 managed Halo. Not only were they unable to make a single good game to save their lives but they also failed to expand the franchise in any meaningful way
Co-op shooter where you play as them Grunt spec ops would be hilarious. A Grand Strategy game would be awesome too, where you can take place in battles like in Bannerlord or take control like Total War. Thing is, AAA is so messed right now. We're asking behemoths to move on a dime.
This might be a hot take for many people here, but I gotta say... returning to Destiny 2 after not playing for at least 5 years made me feel a lot better. Feels a lot better than modern Halo does right now, at the least. 343i is so exhausting. Despite what many may claim, Bungie still has a soul... and it has the passion to drive it. Just returning this past month to the game, I can confidently say I recommend the latest campaign from “The Final Shape” expansion. All the positive reception for it is well-warranted.
There is honestly an infinite number of spin-offs Microsoft can do with Halo. Why they don't totally franchise the IP is beyond me. Warhammer is an amazing example of doing it right. They have RTS games, top-down games, third person games, and first person horde survival games. Why doesnt Microsoft do the same with Halo? There could be realism-focused games that focus on the Insurrection period with tactical gameplay as marines/army and old spartans, there could be survival horror games with the flood, more ODST games... hell, even a full VR tank simulator in the Scorpion lol.
hear me out hear me out.... a forerunner flood game. Id love to see a game dive into the "old testiment" of Halo, and i think the forerunners would allow 343 to get the bullshit out of their system as well as give us a new look into the lore. The books are very good, but imagine living through a few missions as bornstellar, finding the didact, and seeing Chakas before he was 343 guilty spark. Absolutely insane, and i think there could be potential. the forerunner "classes" and mutations could play a very cool role, especially if they go with another open world game.
It pisses me off when all I see is people asking for more ODST games, or realistic marines FPS (which would be a very un-Halo and generic FPS). Halo is so rich, yet we don't have any starship battle games ? We have very few stories from the POV of the aliens. Microsoft really mismanaged Halo by just making a truckoad of novels, a shitty series but not giving us more video games besides the FPS and Wars.
@@wiktorb6846 XCOM 2 but Halo is a RADICAL idea, I'm all for it and the lattermost is also cool, could do one set in the pre-spaceflight days of the Elites, show their society and conflicts, the training and battles of the ancient arbiters, and it could end with the first Prophets arriving... Halo absolutely should not go anywhere near the ultrakill style, I feel very strongly that is the antithesis to everything Halo, combat, aesthetic, story, the lot
a "realistic" game or TV show about starship combat would be amazing. Ship combat is one of my favorite things from the books, and it's so different than in any other franchise I know of
I think the desire for a Flood Horror spin-off and many of the other spin-off ideas i've heard are quite misguided, I think if Halo CE proved anything, it's that the mainline Halo formula is broad enough in it's sandbox design to facilitate those kinds of experiences. I'm not arguing against spin-offs, but I don't want to see a spin-off that only offers an experience that could otherwise be achieved in a regular Halo game; Flood-Horror fits quite squarely in that "already do-able" category.
I'm not turning out for any Halo project with 343's stamp on it. Been here since CE, fell off after Halo 4, came back to see Infinite and I'm beyond disappointed with myself for circling back to see how Halo was doing.
Agreed, the entire focus doesn't need to be on MC, I'm not saying toss him aside MC is Halo afterall but definitely put some effort in new stories, characters etc Even Star Wars is slowly starting to break the whole everything revolving around Skywalkers trend but Halo is stuck Everyone posted what kinda games they want so I might as well do that too, a Battlefield/Battlefront type of massive multiplayer all out war game would fucking rock so much, afterwards maybe a horror game.
The real reason that spinoffs could be good is if they give 1/10the of the budget and then let the teams experiment Part of the problem with AAAA games like infinite is that they put so much money in, and expand the team to be so large that they then need so many more people managing things, at which point it becomes counter productive and all vision and direction gets drowned out
Apparently, 343 have done a number of "hack-a-thons" where the devs mess around in Halo's engine and try to pull together a new game idea in a short amount of time. Asides from the salary of the devs working during that time, it costs virtually $0 to do that and to see what they come up with (that's how we got the rumoured Halo Starfighter game). If ODST can be made in 18 months on H3's engine, then surely 343 could cook something up on Slipspace or Unreal Engine 5 based on one of those hack-a-thon ideas.
i have always wanted spin off games but we will probably never get them as it will probably wont generate enough retinue because a store is easier to add to a game and get money rather than making a halo game that we would love and do well
4:56 Our biggest problem as a community is that the people with voices aka content creators…HAVENT BEEN CRITICAL ENOUGH we can’t keep letting 343 n microsoft get away with this
I wouldn’t mind a long gap between games so much if the games we got at the end of them were actually solid. Instead they’re just sort of meh, and it makes the long wait seem wasted
The future of Halo is the past alpha of destiny a server based deformable orb that as becomes war-torn pieces of the orb can be converted into energy that can be converted into armor and the arenas are built by war as is evidenced by the lore and destiny and the shape of the environments since the first campaign.
Hear me out new halo game idea. ODST like fps game from the forerunner’s perspective. You play as the didactic or a frontline soldier of some kind in the forerunner military. Your objective is to hold back the flood by any means necessary whether it’s physically defending a planet, finding allies or searching for a cure. It starts at the battle of the greater arc and shows the collapse of the forerunner empire. The flood consumes world after world as the forerunner leadership can only send wave after wave of troops to their demise in a war they cannot win. The game ends with the didactic and the last of the forerunner empire falling back to the lesser arc fighting against impossible odds to buy time for the halo array to be activated. The plot should show the forerunners belief in their own superiority be shattered as each world or installation falls. It all leads up to the forerunners making the unthinkable decisions to destroy every living thing so other species can have a fighting chance. In their final moments as a society the forerunners understand the why ancient humanity bombed their worlds to stop the infection. The players last act is to activate the halo array killing the flood and starting the reseeding of the galaxy. Or just make halo wars 3 for Christ sake.
I want a deadspace type halo game where you play as a Marine with storying telling and a setting like the motion comic "The Mona Lisa".
Right. There are so many stories within the halo universe they could tell or build up to be a side story game. I guess we’ll see if the new management at 343 is as incompetent as its original team. Let's honestly be real here:
No matter how hard we scream for all of this, none of this is going to happen because of a very simple fact:
Microsoft and 343 DO NOT CARE.
Microsoft and 343 are one and the same, people need to get that through their heads.
Microsoft keeps interjecting it's greed whenever one of their developers starts cooking

When 343 gets hate so often it’s no wonder they’re afraid to be more proactive.
@@mastersith3523 They gotta prove they can do better first
You really hit the nail on the head here.
Well said, if halo were to succeed from here on out it would be via intervention from the fans
We as a fan base need to pull our resources and skills together to make some form of content to raise money and buy the halo iep and then make the games and other content we want
The the best way to get this mindset going and organized (that I can think of) is to have a collective of TH-camrs and thier community’s come together and look into what we would need
If Halo Wars 3 counts, then I'm all for it
We still have MCC, so the proven Halo games are there. And the Rated-T-E-Sports-Infinite is still around too.
I've been disappointed so much for so long that I don't trust that Halo 6 will inspire me
Halo Infinite IS Halo 6.
I mean...Halo Wars 2 is IMO the best 343-era Halo (and I'm giving that to Creative Assembly), so that tracks.
But realistically, I think Halo's future is just the dumpster at this point.
Correction: 343 have the time money and resources. They are just incompetent in literally every other way.

Including:
The Longsword family
The Baselard
The Nandao
Some Pelican gunship types
The Broadsword
The Sabre

Hornet/Falcon/Wasp (maybe?)
And covenant air/space craft like Banshees, Phantoms, Seraphs, etc.

@@michaellane5381 I still don't see how that has anything to do with insurrectionists.
They should start adaptating the novels into games. The lore is so deep the possibilities are endless
"These Innovations cemented what a mainline Halo game should be, a feature rich experience with lots of replayability and a variety of modes that fans expect"
Individual halo players will all have a unique preference for their ideal experience.
Now what I disagree with,
"Does this mean that fans have overly high expectations? No I don't think that they do I think it's perfectly acceptable to expect a feature in a new title that was included at launch in a game from over a decade ago on Hardware that was far more limiting than what we have now"
While I stated that halo games should absolutely release with all the core experiences to facilitate the general halo population, I absolutely think that the [loud side of the] halo community have an 'all or nothing' mindset.

God, your channel is such a fucking banger. Keep on keeping on, mate
I think having an open world human covenant war game or swords of Sangheilios vs banished game would be fun
I would like to see a Halo in game style of Helldivers - and a game that mixes FPS with RTS like Silica. I would also like a Halo game similar to Alien Isolation. The potential is endless, I don't understand why 343 have been so bad with this. ArmA like Halo game? Yeah!
The mobile game puke scene killed me. The fuckin accuracy 😂
The production quality, scripting and content on this channel is 👌
Fantastic video!
I'd like to see the IP taken over by a different studio, but that won't happen.
this editing is inspiring
I do mis it when halo was more of a gritty story the vibe hasn't been the same after reach
Just like Gears of war
Good video! Sound quality was a bit off in my headphones. Your voice sounded staticy here and there
I think a Halo: Contact Harvest game would be sick! Make it more on the horror side.. AND WE COULD PLAY AS SGT. JOHNSON!!!
Solid idea. Sounds an awful lot like what Spartan Ops should've been in Halo 4.
Wasn't there a game jam for Halo with a possible Ace Combat style game? Fuck me why don't we have that
I mean it woudnt be crazy for the mainline games to only have the multiplayer stuff. And you have all of it at launch (all matchmaking modes, forge, theatre, progression system, file share exc)
Another camp makes just campaigns. This could include campaign expansions (such as for infinite) or side games such as ODST
A game about the interplanetary wars or the attack on harvest playing as a marine would be pretty good
I still can’t believe they cut support for MCC with it in the state that it’s in
343 should've left Chief and Cortana in the split Forward Unto Dawn for a book, animation, or a GOOD TV series to finish that plotline.
I would die for a game like this
Another great video worth the 2 month wait, what’s not worth the long wait is waiting for some good news about Halo. Halo fans deserve better 😔
Couldn't agree more.
1:08 Brooooooo... how have I not noticed that they have used the exact same poses with them 3 times
Halo is gone, 343 made sure of that
Here’s an easy idea. A game where we play as RED TEAM. Main character is Jerome! And instead of Cortana we use Isabelle!!!!!
Im gonna be a dementia-ridden great grandparent by the time we get some good fucking food from this studio. And worse, i’ll probably just mistake it for bungie work and that im back in the 2000s
I want a game where you play as a marine trying to survive on earth with your squad whilst being hunted by a group of camp elites.
343 made an actually good character like Master Chief I can only assume by accident and aren't capitalizing on him Jerome. I would love to see a spin off or something where you play as Jerome in first person or something give him his own thing
This. Same for Fallout, if the IP handlers had any sense.
They don't have to pay me to think of stuff: Sony shat the bed with Helldivers. Give me ODST2 PvE. Halo Wars 2 on Steam. Halo Infinite Expansion.
What is the music that plays in the other spartan teams chapter?
Pretty sure that's either Overture or Winter Contingency from Reach's soundtrack.
@@LaperLarden It's overtune
Exactly dude couldnt have said it better. Imagine a forerunner base/city builder during the flood escape? Or an Arbiter ultrakill/soulslike game
@@wiktorb6846 XCOM 2 but Halo is a RADICAL idea, I'm all for it
and the lattermost is also cool, could do one set in the pre-spaceflight days of the Elites, show their society and conflicts, the training and battles of the ancient arbiters, and it could end with the first Prophets arriving...
Halo absolutely should not go anywhere near the ultrakill style, I feel very strongly that is the antithesis to everything Halo, combat, aesthetic, story, the lot
a "realistic" game or TV show about starship combat would be amazing. Ship combat is one of my favorite things from the books, and it's so different than in any other franchise I know of
Why does that piss you off? Halo has always been an FPS with an RTS spinoff here and there. Of course people are going to ask for FPS games.
"It pisses me off when people have a different opinion / idea to me 😭😭"
Honestly i think if we got a short demo but the setting would be the grunt rebellion
Agreed, the entire focus doesn't need to be on MC, I'm not saying toss him aside MC is Halo afterall but definitely put some effort in new stories, characters etc
Even Star Wars is slowly starting to break the whole everything revolving around Skywalkers trend but Halo is stuck
Everyone posted what kinda games they want so I might as well do that too, a Battlefield/Battlefront type of massive multiplayer all out war game would fucking rock so much, afterwards maybe a horror game.
The real reason that spinoffs could be good is if they give 1/10the of the budget and then let the teams experiment
Part of the problem with AAAA games like infinite is that they put so much money in, and expand the team to be so large that they then need so many more people managing things, at which point it becomes counter productive and all vision and direction gets drowned out
Apparently, 343 have done a number of "hack-a-thons" where the devs mess around in Halo's engine and try to pull together a new game idea in a short amount of time.
We need a free to play multiplayer halo that will last for 10 years. Then we need campaign only games every two years
i have always wanted spin off games but we will probably never get them as it will probably wont generate enough retinue because a store is easier to add to a game and get money rather than making a halo game that we would love and do well
4:56 Our biggest problem as a community is that the people with voices aka content creators…HAVENT BEEN CRITICAL ENOUGH we can’t keep letting 343 n microsoft get away with this
I wouldn’t mind a long gap between games so much if the games we got at the end of them were actually solid.
Doesn't matter what they put out. With 343 it's bound to be a massive failure
I want some halo games about the covenant
I remember being excited for MCC even more than 5 when they were announced. What an absolute clown I was
Hear me out new halo game idea.
