There is 1 moment in ALL Gethsemane covers that makes or breaks it for me. That high note when Jesus screams "why.." You nailed it. Well played sir...well played.
@@ShawnODonnellMusic I grew up watching JC Superstar, Ted Neeley's take is iconic and is who I measure all covers by so take that for what it's worth 👍👍
Went to see JC Superstar at the Kennedy Center Opera House sat. night. Found this video after the performance. I have loved all forms music my entire life (55 years) and play guitar. I have never seen a better performance- anywhere, anytime and I have seen a hell of a lot. Words can not do this justice. Incredible.
Awesome job sir. Not only is it a great cover, but you managed to reflect the very complex and shifting emotions that JCS displays. Music was spot on, too. Keep it up!
OMG this is so great! I'm a rock/metal fan and the first time I heard this song in the movie I KNEW it needed a rock version cause the lyrics and Ted Neeley's voice is perfect for it! Thank yo so much for this!
My friend this is abolutely wonderfully done! I am a GIANT Ian Gillian fan and ....WOW did you nail and enhance it within your own version. My Daughter sent this to me. I am amazed!
Listening to and finding this version on the Wednesday before Holy Thursday was so inspirational. What a great rendering of a very traumatic time in the passion of Christ
Since the first time I saw the movie 30 years ago I knew one day somebody would do this...bring a JCSS song from the rock to the metal era. And you hit it spot on!
This might be my favorite performance of this song that I've ever seen. It always seemed too passive, but you made it confrontational, emotional, and just absolutely amazing! This deserves SO MANY more views!
This version is one of the best I have ever seen since Ian Gilan. I am a big Jesus Christ Superstar fan and I give credit where credit is due. This version is in my top 4 greatest version of Gethsemane of all time. 1. Ian Gilan 2. Sean Matthew Whiteford 3. Shawn O'Donnel 4. Ted Neeley Yes, Ted Neeley is at number 4. He used falsetto while Gilan, Whiteford, and O'Donnel used headtone/throat voice.
Absolutely brilliant! Even though I like Gillan's tones more at certain points, overall your intensity and tightness is just so much better! Thank you, it is a really great contribution for the classic to live forever!
Just wow! And many high notes too! A great song. I’ve heard all the covers and in fact my buddy sings it at karaoke but can’t hit the high notes (I can) so I’ll giver her a try! Great job man!
this is so perfect sorry i can't curse here if I was able I would show you how mich of an masterpiece golden sound it was for my ears. thank you. thank you. thank you.
Bravo. The voice surpassed my expectations. And I’m not easy to be impressed after hearing Ian Gillian’s version. In fact would love to hear Gillian’s voice on this metal version.
Holy shit dude. Not only hit the high note but go above! Awesome arrangement of the solos and more technical playing without losing the integrity of the original. Great stuff! Is this available for download/purchase anywhere?!?
I loved it so much that I went to click "like", saw that I already like it, switched to my other TH-cam channel to like it there, and saw I already like it there too :D This is so good! Keep up
Hey man i´m from Portugal and always loved this song. Me myself did cover of this, but honestly this one it´s the best version i heard. Its very very good! Congratulations bro. Peace
Yesssss! great version! I love the metal take on it. During the "I have to know, I have to know my lord"-part, you do a eighth note break in any iteration. After that break, I would use harmonics / Flageolets every second time to make the guitar scream more. The bass plays the normal line, so nothing is missing, but it would give even more depth maybe. just an idea, try if you like it.
Gotta echo what Nolan said. It's a make or break: that high C. And whilst I wasn't as down with the metal elements in the middle ... you hit the note, and I like what you did with the arrangement. Kudos.

He *nailed* it.
❣️❤️😭💔💕
Up until today, Ian's has been the only other version that brings sorrowful tears of complete Joy to my heart!
What a voice!
Same for me!, plus the final “nail me to the cross” and dude absolute kills both of them.
The whole show needs a metal version. JCSS is designed to be reimagined into different rock styles but we never got a metal one!
In fact, there is a metal version of JCS. Just search "Jesus Christ Supernova".
Holly shit! Thank you!@@LarimarUniverse-ny5ox
Yeeeeah... But it wasn't the best execution of it
That’s how it should be done. That is off-the-chain man. Absolutely brilliant. Top contender with the best versions of Ian Gillian and Ted Neeley. 👏🏻
dude wtf this was actually a world class cover, outstanding work
ace88bf thanks so much!

Great job.
Just great. A lot better than many of the theater versions who go on road show. Also a very good metalization. Love your work guys.
Thanks you Amirali!!
Extremely underrated, the cover is too wholesome for most of the people, I guess :p
GREAT!
That was incredibly enjoyable! I so hope some ensemble of artists will turn the whole of JCS into a metal opera.
