    Just acquired my first pinion bike (Co-Motion Divide)...knocked out the first 3-day tour over the July 4th weekend. Absolutely amazed at the performance. Thank you Pinion--no more derailleur for me!

    the technology is impressive, one day I would love to have one of these, but to be honest I think that at least in Latin American countries the price is very excessive and with what it costs you could easily buy a motorcycle or another vehicle, it will be a long time before you can be accessible to normal people

    Pinion. Please take this time to spend extra time developing a higher engagement point/ contact after back pedal. Maybe a sprag clutch design? I love you, I love my pinion, but improvements can be made. Please Please please!

      I test rode a Zerode Taniwha a few years ago. Loved the mass centralisation and the reduced unsprung mass. The reason a didn't buy that bike was because of the pickup. It felt like only 12 POE and caused problems trying to clock the cranks while climbing on technical trails.

      Just my opinion but I don't care about POE, durability is more important and less POE means bigger ratchet teeth and pawls ie stronger. Most Shimano cup&cone MTB hubs have 15 POE and most users were happy with this for over 20 years. I guess if you made a high performance version with more POE you might sell more units but I also think you might have more damaged boxes coming back to the factory when the smaller ratchet elements inevitably fail sooner.

    I m very curious how the Pinion will be, it is my first gearbox after 34 years old school shimano shifting. Hopefully within two weeks my Pilot Scram Pinion, with c.1.12will be delivered.....

      Super happy with my new bike, the Pilot Scram Pinion, yes, with Pinion c1-12 box and cinq shifters. The shifting is very easy, precisely and secure. In comparison with my old shimano derailleur the pinion is also very quiet. The only little things are that i have to get used to the somewhat bigger intervals between the gears than my former shimano and i feel difference in the resistance of my shifters shifting between some gears, and with my gravelracebike i think i will never use the first 2 gears, thy are so light.....but already after 3 weeks experience with pinion i can say that i don’t want back to the old school shifting of shimano, campa, or sram....

    Super. Ich suche zur Zeit das richtige Rad zu eurer Pinion Schaltung. Meine Rohloff ist auch super, macht das Rad aber extrem träge durch das hohe Gewicht des Hinterrades. Ich sehe in der Kombination Pinion/ Zahnriemen/SON Dynamo die Basis für ein perfektes Fahhrad!

      Schau dir mal das Tout Terrain Silkroad Xplore II 27,5 an
      Stahlrahmen, Pinion C1.12, SON Dynamo (optional), Dynamo-USB-Lader (auch optional), Gates CDX Riemen, integrierter robuster Gepäckträger (Edelstahl).
      Ich werde mir dieses Fahrrad definitiv zulegen

    I will try it. Nice video. If you change them please try to make them backward compatible so that at worst, I can just buy a new gearbox, but use the same frame.

      Hi Mark, the mounting on the frame is identical throughout all Pinion Gearboxes. So, if you want to change just your gearbox, it is not a problem.

      ​@@markmoreno7295It is unlikley that the mounting system of the gearboxes will change. Since it is a standard for all Pinion gearboxes and for all Pinion bike frames.

    I have tested a bike fitted with the P1.18 - amazing! However, I'd love to view comparisons between hub and center motor e-bikes fitted with Pinion gearboxes - particularly for long distance travelling and with EU specs, i.e. 250W/25Kph. Is that available? And what about combining the Pinion gearbox with a Bosch or Brose mid-drive/center motor?

    Toronto is the biggest city in Canada with 2+million population. I visited many bike shops (pre-covid) and the sales/technicians had never heard of pinion gearbox. In the Toronto Bicycle show there was one elderly couple (70+ years) in the back booth with pinion gearbox and flyers from Co-Motion. 10 years Pinion and no one is interested here. Not able to buy gearbox in Canada. Contacted Pinion and they gave me address of some shop in California where you have to buy the whole bike with the gearbox. Those of us who want custom bike have no chance.

    Sind die verschiedenen Getriebe der c-line unterschiedlich groß? Oder könnte ich meine c1.6 auf eine C1.12 upgraden?

      Die Gehäuse sind identisch und nur die Anzahl der Zahnräder im Inneren sind unterschiedlich. Du kannst gerne über deinen Fachhändler ein C1.12 Getriebe beziehen und es von ihm tauschen lassen. Bitte bedenke, dass dabei auch die Blende am DS2 Schaltgriff getauscht werden muss, da ansonsten eine falsche Skala angezeigt wird.

    Hallo liebes Pinion-Team,
    da ich die Drehgriff-Schaltung nicht nur hasse, sondern damit auch nicht klar komme, warte ich schon lange auf diese Möglichkeit.
    Allerdings musste ich feststellen dass die elektronische Schaltung offensichtlich 😢nur im Stromer, das leider auch nur als “S” E-Bike erhältlich ist, verbaut wird.
    In diesem Video wird gesagt, dass diese Schaltung auch in weiteren E-Bikes erhältlich wäre, nun möchte ich gerne wissen, bei welchem Hersteller ich ein solches E-Bike bekommen würde???

      Hallo wile45, ich glaube du hast das falsche Video kommentiert. Wir arbeiten gerade mit mehreren Herstellern daran Smart.Shift in weiteren E-Bikes erhältlich zu machen, allerdings haben wir als einzelner Komponentenhersteller keinen Einfluss darauf, wann die E-Bikes vom Hersteller veröffentlicht werden können. Wenn du weitere E-Bikes mit Smart.Shift suchst, dann bitte ich dich noch etwas um Geduld. Wir informieren auf unserer Website, Social Media und in unserem Newsletter, wenn weitere E-Bikes mit unserem Smart.Shift auf den Markt kommen.

      Pinion is available worldwide. Of course in some countries there are no specific dealers or bike manufacturers. But nowadays you can order bikes anywhere and let it ship to you.
