ProV1x left dash was a game changer for me. I was an AVX player but hated the lack of green side spin it was missing. The ProV1x left dash gave me even more distance and accuracy than AVX, AND, it gave me back green side spin. Hope Titleist keeps this ball available for years to come.
Interestingly, I conducted my own tests on GC2 with the 2019 -ProV1x, ProV1x, and ProV1 and got very different results. It makes me curious as to what about my delivery caused this. I tested a full 7 iron and a partial 56 degree at 50-60 yds on a Fiberbuilt mat, and here're the spin rates I saw: 7 Iron (Callaway X Forged 18) - -ProV1x: 7200 - ProV1x: 6800 - ProV1: 7800 Partial 56 Wedge (Mizuno T20) - -ProV1x: 7400 - ProV1x: 8200 - ProV1: 7200 I was quite surprised by the results so I hit a bunch of shots of each (15-20), and removed outliers and bad strikes and the results were very consistent. With my tendency to overspin mid irons combined with the harder feel of the -ProV1x, meant that the ProV1x was the obvious winner for me.
Thanks for the review. Awesome information. I'm one of those high ball, high spin off the driver guys and I've seen some benefit from this ball. I'm definitely interested in the comparison to the new 2020 AVX.
From the Titleist website under golf ball fitting FAQs, also accompanied by a helpful graphic... “Pro V1, Pro V1x, and AVX are differentiated based upon flight, spin, and feel. Compared to Pro V1, Pro V1x flies higher, spins more, and feels firmer. Compared to Pro V1, AVX flies lower, spins less, and feels softer.” Left dash, as seen in the video, has a similar flight to Pro V1x (slightly lower), but feels firmer and spins less.
So glad I found this video. I have been an pro v1x player my whole career and noticed a change in the ball last year. I lost some distance and was spinning more. Then I heard about the left dash x and wasn’t sure. But this video has helped me make the switch to the left dash. Thank you for doing this video cause it was very helpful for players like me 👍
Still really want to see the Snell MTB range compared to the big guys on this channel... I've seen some data from other sources, but I trust you guys more :)
Rewatching this as been playing the Left Dash for the last year. It’s defiantly longer with Driver and probably mid irons. Seems fine on full wedge shots but do notice firmness and less spin on shorter part shots. Certainly more noticeable on current firm and fast UK courses this year.
I switched to these year ago… and my game especially my driver has benefited so much….went from 250avg to 270 …. My driver Callaway Epic max 9/ GD HD6s combo with this ball has me hitting WAY MORE fairways… took a few rounds to get use to the harder feeling ball…. But well worth it…. I highly recommend this ball… TXG as always thanks for the great videos
I just picked up the last two sleeves at PGA Tour Superstore in Palm Desert. Played the standard V1X for the first 13 holes…. Dispersion and distance was standard to my play. Hit a small draw biased drive - getting total distance of 290-310 depending on wind and quality of contact. Switched to the -V1X on 14 and continued to play with it. Absolutely amazed. Hit well over 300 yds on all three remaining drives. Ball flight was slightly higher, but the left to right dispersion was gone! Straightest drives I could have hit. Maybe I just dialed in, but I was happy with the results and will test them out again. Try them.
Great video guys! I really appreciate you testing this golf ball. I’m someone who has high swing speed and I’m trying to find a golf ball that will lower the spin throughout the bag. This seems like the perfect fit. I can’t wait to hit these with my 6° Taylor made Sim. As always you guys put out fantastic content please keep the videos coming!
Is there a chance you could post the numbers of all the ball testing you completed in one place? Maybe screen shots of the data? That would help in comparing data versus rewatch all the videos.
I’ve been playing this ball since it came out and I’m loving it. I’ve always been a high spin player and played the original prov1x before they swapped places. After playing this ball for a while, I was telling people I really could keep the spin up pretty well around the greens without ripping them back like I did with the regular x. They fly high and spin enough for them to spin with the kid irons and are monsters off the tee. I think the only downside is they can get a little squirrelly out of the rough.
As mentioned I'd like to see a comparison with the TP5X as I went from the ProV1x to the TP5x when it was released a few years ago and have been really happy with the way it performs with all shots. I feel the TP is longer off the tee but could a Titleist ball find it's way back in my bag.. Hmm
Wow. These are exactly what I hoped that were, they’re the re-incarnation of the 2015 ProV1x from before they changed from high flight, low spin to high flight, high spin. Now we just need them to be available in the UK before I finish the last of my stock of 2015 ProV1x I have in the garage!!
I use the -ProV1 and they are a game changer. My swing speed is 123mph and had issues with keeping driver spin under 2800. I moved to the SIM with the Ventura 7x Black and paired with the -ProV1 is a super low spin killer combo. Love watching everything you two put together!! Keep them coming!!!
Ok I admit I'm a little slow (same as my swing speed ) but I'm confused! The old ProV1x is now the new -ProV1x but you have to order it, the new ProV1 is more like the old ProV1x and the ProV1 is kinda like the old AVX but hold on.......the new AVX is different soooooooo I'll buy Bridgestone! Think I got it.....🙄
With 7 iron or wedge, when does low spin become too low? What values would be the threshold? Can you compensate a lower spin by a higher launch angle (which this new ball seems to offer) and use the descent angle as a ball stopping factor on greens?
The trend seems to be less spin because they hold up in the wind better and pros have enough speed that they're often trying to take spin off vs add more. I rarely see guys sucking balls back a ton with wedges these days. Control = one hop and bite/stop. Pros are using the combo of ball selection and club tweaking to try to get every club to behave that way. Under 6k on a 7-iron is low. Under 5k is dangerously low. Keep in mind that spin also creates descent angle. But it's a total tech story - today's clubs and today's balls work together. Tungsten in the bottom of most irons now, even the SM8 wedges.
Been waiting for this one !!! Watching as I type.... I saw a couple of guys at Riviera (Genesis Open who were playing it. My 7 year old son just missed getting an autographed one from Max Homa though he did get his Titleist hat autographed by him!
My current 7 iron nearly gets into the 8000s with the pro v1x. I’m thinking the left dash might be a winner. Only issue is my driver is so optimized at about 1800-1900 that it might drop that too low.
Bradley Phelps me too. I think the ball speed loss is balanced out by longer roll-out. Ended up going to Chrome soft because the AVX didn't spin enough around the greens but I'm liking the new 2019 Pro V1. Will try the new Chrome Soft/X when they comes out. The X is totally new (old CS X was garbage). Everyone rips on them because of their ridiculous marketing but it's looking more and more like TaylorMade is the tech leader right now & the other guys are trying to make their balls more like the TP5/X. I say this as someone who's never hit either TM ball.
Holy smokes the -left dash off the driver was crazy... the left dash sounds different but not bad... would be a great 2 man or 4 ball tournament ball where you can change balls
I found DB George comment very interesting. After seeing the -ProVIx test, I was asking myself: why people would keep paying big money to play these balls, when we used to pick the ProVI's for their spin, particularly around the green!!? Confusing. Instead of picking this new ball, why not pick another very good premium ball that has less spin?
I would really be interested in a test of the titleist exp-01 ball, which seems to be softer (and higher launching) than pro v1 but from what I hear doesn't lose much if any distance...
Gents, All the ball tests out there have wedge, iron and driver but is there any way to test with a putter? I typically pick a ball based upon how I putt with it.
You guys do an awesome job!! I love this golf ball. I've already accumulated 4 dz and 1 dz of the I believe it's 2017 version. Don't get these of Ebay. I've seen people charge double. I get really good numbers of my skytrak. Love the channel you guys are awesome!!
For ball fitting is it still best to match the ball to the required purpose and launch conditions for the irons and wedges then fit the driver to the ball and not the other way around? One can modify driver setting to dial in but one cannot easily modify the irons or ball to behave differently (assuming most people won’t bend lofts) Seen a lot of content lately about choosing ball based on driver alone
Hi Ian and Matt, great if you could test the short game spin as well. The AVX is too low spin for chips and short pitches for a some of us, is this Left Dash Por V1x similar to AVX around the greens and half pitches (ie very low spin) or they have enough spin like the pro V1x ? thx a lot
Awesome review, definitely a golf ball I need to try. 122mph swing that can't get my driver spin below 2,700rpm. Looking forward to your AVX review though because I need the spin reduction but hate the firm feel...
Love this test. I got 3 dozen left dash last year and I enjoy them and have wondered how much difference there was. I think I’m between left dash and TP5X this year. I think those are some of the lower spinning options amongst premium balls and I am a little steep with 125-130mph club speed on the driver so I generate a lot of spin with every club. Any idea which of those 2 would be lower spin and higher ball speed based on your testing so far?
It's a great ball when playing into the wind for me!!! It flys into the wind like no other in my opinion. It was a bit quicker off the putter great for slow greens where you dont want to change your putting stroke to pop the ball harder. It really rolls out on the same effort of strike.
Jay McGillicuddy No. I played the EXP-01 for a round in December. It's a totally different cover formulation. It was pretty good but a little too AVX-like for my taste. The thing that bothered me the most was the cover/paint. It made the Titleist script thick like on the cheapo balls instead of that tight, sharp script you get on the Pro Vs. Durability was also shaky.
Have you seen the new - same day as this Mark Crossfield vid on AVX Vs Callaway . Veeeeryey similar start - Matt are you guys doing the editing / graphics for them now ..?
I have a buddy who plays the AVX because he spins the ball so much - driver swing speed is close to Matty. I would be curious to see -ProV1x compared to the AVX to see the spin difference because I think my buddy he should try the -ProV1x.
I think its interesting that Tigers ball spins less that the ProV1X on wedge and mid-iron shots... considering all the jazz about him playing the spinniest ball on tour!
When AVX was launched as a soft, low-spinning ball, I first wondered why you wouldn't just get some cheap marshmallow like a Srixon Soft Feel if you want low compression and low spin. Now this, a firm compression with low spin- why not a Hot Dot, Spalding or some other hard crappy ball? The difference, supposedly, is still achieving premium greenside spin with offerings like AVX and Left Dash. Could you guys do a comparison video to prove that? It would put to bed a lot of queries like mine about the necessity of premium 'low spin' balls.
Can you PLEEEEEASE compare the left dash to the tp5x? The tp5x is may gamer, i feel like its pretty close to the left dash. Seems like the left dash may be even more low spin.
I'm a fan of ProV1x, but not the newer version. I liked the low spin / high launch / firm feel of the older ball but the newer version isn't as low spin. I'm a bit disappointed as the old ball was great (for me). Perhaps I'll need to go back to the newer ProV1?
How does a 1800 rpm drive vs a 2100 rpm for Matt play in the real world? At what point is the ball falling out of the sky RPM wise and does GC Quad take these real world conditions into account?
Okay but like.... when are you gonna go on tour?? I know you're only showing us the better shots but I have watched a bunch of videos and I don't see why not lol
AVX vs Pro V1x- is going to be very interesting! Can’t wait
Left dash versus Tp5x versus Zstar XV please!!!
(Also left dash video for pitch shots and around the green would be great)
Took it up a notch in production value. 👍🏼 like the overlayed music and swing sequence better than in the past. Keep it up!
Drove me nuts, unfortunately.
Fantastic information, I'm in the know and this confused me till now. Best channel on golf webwide
ProV1x left dash was a game changer for me. I was an AVX player but hated the lack of green side spin it was missing. The ProV1x left dash gave me even more distance and accuracy than AVX, AND, it gave me back green side spin. Hope Titleist keeps this ball available for years to come.
Just get better around the greens lol, just joking, both balls are wonderful! Also just switched to left days yesterday, and shot my lowest round!!
Interestingly, I conducted my own tests on GC2 with the 2019 -ProV1x, ProV1x, and ProV1 and got very different results. It makes me curious as to what about my delivery caused this. I tested a full 7 iron and a partial 56 degree at 50-60 yds on a Fiberbuilt mat, and here're the spin rates I saw:
7 Iron (Callaway X Forged 18)
- -ProV1x: 7200
- ProV1x: 6800
- ProV1: 7800

- -ProV1x: 7400
- ProV1x: 8200

I think they did one with just the MTBx vs the Chromesoft x. Not sure though
BloisBot strikes again! Hey this is a cool test, wasn't sure how this left dash really fit in the matrix but now I do. Thanks.
Love the golf dialogue between you fellas, looking forward to the AVX comparison!

Looking forward to the AVX review.
Guys thanks. Every video highlights a new aspect and keeps us poor plebs informed .KEEP IT UP!
I picked up a dozen of them at my golf store this week played it today loved it.
Excellent review as always! I picked up a few sleeves of these to try out! It sounds like the new bomber scramble ball!
Left dash vs tp5x vs MTBX snell! PLEASE
“... it’s not really for the masses.”
That’s all I needed to hear.
Signed,
One of the masses
I just picked up the last two sleeves at PGA Tour Superstore in Palm Desert.

Awesome video. I’ve played AVX for last 18 months. Left dash is definitely intriguing.

how do you attach your simulator screens to the wall
I loved the old Pro V1x...this does sound a lot like a TP5x...could you guys do a comparison..
Agreed.
Tp5 is trash
I use the -ProV1 and they are a game changer. My swing speed is 123mph and had issues with keeping driver spin under 2800. I moved to the SIM with the Ventura 7x Black and paired with the -ProV1 is a super low spin killer combo. Love watching everything you two put together!! Keep them coming!!!

DB George No. the -pro v1x is another available version of the x. Yes, the current versions have switched characteristics.

Every time Matt hits a drive, it sounds like a whip cracking!
Now I’m more confused than ever for what ball to play!
Been waiting for this one !!!
Watching as I type....
I saw a couple of guys at Riviera (Genesis Open who were playing it.
My 7 year old son just missed getting an autographed one from Max Homa though he did get his Titleist hat autographed by him!
Wow, that's so cool, I bet your son is really pleased with the autograph!
Bandit Baker we had a blast. He got 9 autogrpahs and 2 balls. One from Max Homa and one from JJ Spaun.
Highlight autographs:
Jordan Speith
Jim Furyk
Max Homa
@@richardsdiaz1 That's great 👍
My current 7 iron nearly gets into the 8000s with the pro v1x. I’m thinking the left dash might be a winner. Only issue is my driver is so optimized at about 1800-1900 that it might drop that too low.
was there a difference in swing speed with the driver?
So how does this -Pro v1x compare to the previous Pro V1? 🤔
Would love to see the comparison between the left dash and the AVX.
I like the subtle changes to the "TXG" song.
Can't wait to find some of those in the woods at my course!
I tried the AVX against my ProV1 last year. The driver was the same, but I was 10 yards longer with my irons. I went to the Srixon XV for this year.
Would really like to see a Titleist Pro V1x left dash vs TM TP5x comparison
Been playing this ball all summer. I think it's the rebirth of the ProV1 Star (*) if anyone remembers that ball
I haven't looked at numbers but this ball reminds me of how TP5X performs for me. I bomb that ball but I've yet to back one up on the green.
Wow! Great vid guys. Thanks!
Would be curious to see the differences in putting using these two, as well as others.
I would really be interested in a test of the titleist exp-01 ball, which seems to be softer (and higher launching) than pro v1 but from what I hear doesn't lose much if any distance...
can you guys please do an AVX 2020 versus ProV1 x 2020
Do you think they will come out with a yellow version of left dash pro v 1x?
Gents, All the ball tests out there have wedge, iron and driver but is there any way to test with a putter? I typically pick a ball based upon how I putt with it.
You guys do an awesome job!! I love this golf ball. I've already accumulated 4 dz and 1 dz of the I believe it's 2017 version. Don't get these of Ebay. I've seen people charge double. I get really good numbers of my skytrak. Love the channel you guys are awesome!!
Think we need a video comparing the whole Titleist ball range
For ball fitting is it still best to match the ball to the required purpose and launch conditions for the irons and wedges then fit the driver to the ball and not the other way around? One can modify driver setting to dial in but one cannot easily modify the irons or ball to behave differently (assuming most people won’t bend lofts)
Seen a lot of content lately about choosing ball based on driver alone
Mark Arbuthnot Always best to fit golf balls from the green back.
Left dash just become available and found on special so a couple of boxes coming my way for some testing. TP5 Pix the current gamer.
Hi Ian and Matt, great if you could test the short game spin as well. The AVX is too low spin for chips and short pitches for a some of us, is this Left Dash Por V1x similar to AVX around the greens and half pitches (ie very low spin) or they have enough spin like the pro V1x ? thx a lot
what's the highest spinning ball for irons? I hit my 7i around 174yds.. 124 ball speed 16-18d of launch 4800 spin
Bridgestone BXS, Mizuno RB Tour X
is the dash x just a hard avx because some tour players dont like the soft feel of the avx? dash x vs avx please :)
Awesome review, definitely a golf ball I need to try. 122mph swing that can't get my driver spin below 2,700rpm. Looking forward to your AVX review though because I need the spin reduction but hate the firm feel...

10:38 “original low spinning , high compression Pro V1x -
Which years models are best for this : 2011 you mentioned ? Ta
Helpful on longer wedge shots for. I’m so high spin on a full or even 3/4 gap wedges it was very hard to control. It made pro v1x unplayable
It's a great ball when playing into the wind for me!!! It flys into the wind like no other in my opinion. It was a bit quicker off the putter great for slow greens where you dont want to change your putting stroke to pop the ball harder. It really rolls out on the same effort of strike.
Firm and low spin... how do these compare with performance two piece? Titleist tour soft or others like that
Will you revisit this experiment in 2023 with the new ball series from Pro V1x?
Can we see left dash v1x against the current (2019) tp5x....thanks!
I need this ball!
Please test Inesis Tour 900 golf ball
I wonder if the Exp-01 is the same as the -ProV1x from last fall.
Great video! Can you guys do a comparison between -pro 1vx and tp5x
How much less spin is it than the normal Pro V? That is what should have been compared because the normal ProV is closer in spin.
Hello guys, Is there any chances to test and review for Pro V1 Star vs Pro V1 ?
Have you seen the new - same day as this Mark Crossfield vid on AVX Vs Callaway . Veeeeryey similar start - Matt are you guys doing the editing / graphics for them now ..?
Interesting, but it seems to have to AVX performance? Is it replacing the AVX?
I believe I saw these at Golftown Queensway Saturday
Just bought the new bridgestone. Sounds like its the best on the market now.
I have a buddy who plays the AVX because he spins the ball so much - driver swing speed is close to Matty. I would be curious to see -ProV1x compared to the AVX to see the spin difference because I think my buddy he should try the -ProV1x.
More golf ball comparisons please!
Vs Snell please..... thank you
Has anyone done a PROV1 or TP5 vs the TM projectA?? This would be interesting
How does the left dash compare to the TP5x?
Txg is becoming the golf encyclopedia
I think its interesting that Tigers ball spins less that the ProV1X on wedge and mid-iron shots... considering all the jazz about him playing the spinniest ball on tour!
When AVX was launched as a soft, low-spinning ball, I first wondered why you wouldn't just get some cheap marshmallow like a Srixon Soft Feel if you want low compression and low spin. My proshop doesn't carry the normal one; (
Did the draw on the shot add to the distance as well , along with the spin reduction ?
Can you PLEEEEEASE compare the left dash to the tp5x? The tp5x is may gamer, i feel like its pretty close to the left dash. Seems like the left dash may be even more low spin.
I'm a fan of ProV1x, but not the newer version. I liked the low spin / high launch / firm feel of the older ball but the newer version isn't as low spin. I'm a bit disappointed as the old ball was great (for me). Perhaps I'll need to go back to the newer ProV1?
is this the ball that they released into the market that was in the white box that said EXP?
That's what I was wondering as well. I found it a little firmer than the ProV1x I usually play.
No. Different ball entirely. The EXP has a cheap ball feel to it. The cover of the Dash feels move like the V1 and V1x
why don't y'all test the ProV1 dot and the ProV1 +
Difference between the yellow provs and white balls?
T-rav29 Different colour core and casing layer to make the yellow ball more vivid. But no difference in performance.
Ryan Andrews i love the yellow but I feel it has less spin with wedges. But don’t have the luxury of a launch monitor to prove it
How does a 1800 rpm drive vs a 2100 rpm for Matt play in the real world? At what point is the ball falling out of the sky RPM wise and does GC Quad take these real world conditions into account?
anything below 2000rpm starts to get really unstable, not a ball flight I would want on the golf course
Okay but like.... when are you gonna go on tour?? I know you're only showing us the better shots but I have watched a bunch of videos and I don't see why not lol
So Matty is considering Bridgestone your b x and left dash prov1x?
likely B-XS, B-X, or regular ProV1x (looking for a bit more spin this year)
Ok so am I going from AVX to ----???? I’m 95-100mph and come down on driver with lots of spin???
