Is it save to sail in between the backwind and blanket zone?
    is there clear air?

Thank you. I was unaware of the extent of the backwind area or that it can provide a lift when sailing through on the opposite tack.

A well done video. Kudos. An old flight instructor after aerodynamics courses always said that if I can help you with this course to see the wind and recognize how alive it is then I’ve done my job.

Never heard of the backwind zone before "and the other things too" (JFK Ref;), I 'm learning a lot with you. Never been a racer, more of a blue waters sailor though. From The Glénan Sailing School , France, thanks for sharing the knowledge.

I had no idea that I would be affected by another boat if I was to windward of them! Really helpful, thanks

What techniques are available to you break persistant 'Close Cover' ?
Had a situation where another competitor was continuously tacking on me and pushing us both down.

That font is SO small. When listing boats say “yellow” or “blue” instead of coloring boats AND also numbering them then calling for the number. Way too hard to see and follow along. Thx.

I can understand "rising air"ahead, but what evidence is there of "falling" air?
