It is because of the ancient adversarial issue between the two, I suppose! Isnt it?
We, Iranians, love Greek stuff very much though!
We think, ancient Greeks took the philosophy (Philosophy = love of Wisdom) from the concept of Ahura Mazda (Lord of Wisdon, can you see how close they are to each other), the god of Zarathustra, and developed it further. Not to mention the music, art and architecture! ;)

Zoroastrians are tolerant thus they never receive any hate in India because of the respect they pay to the Indian culture but Muslims and Christians on other hand doesn't like other faiths so they are build intolerant since childhood, there are riots all the time across India between the Hindus and Muslims this is because the Hindus have noticed that Muslims doesn't respect the Indian culture and try to force Islamic traditions in Indian society. Hindus accept people of all sorts but expects them to respect the indigenous culture of the country too.

Let's not also forget Isrealites descended from the Cannanites and the Jewish El is the same Cananite El Elyon. This decent is also why Hebrew is considered a Cannanite language. Old Hebrew is also indistinguishable from the ancient language of Cannan.

    • @stevenmike1878

both influenced each other. yahwah can mean "i am what i am" "i is what is" "it is what it is" "i exist what exists" you can also replace the word "what with that" so "i am that i am" "i is that is" "i exist that exists" yahway is also elohim " El mean the top, best, greatest," the "im" at the end of the word elohim is a suffix added at the end of the word to represent everything that can ever fit in that catagory. "yahweh represents the greatest it is what it is the that that can possibly exist in all categories that is in reality" thus no one cay truly see yahweh say yahwehs name because he is infinite transcendent mystery of the truth, that is infinatly discovered and built on but can never fully be understood. people can only understand aspect of Yahweh. old hebrew is expressed concepts and symbolism with each symbol having a concept so the limited scrolls written can pack more wisdom. then the jews got sent into exile into babylon, this is when zoraastura mythology got attached to yahweh. this is when you get the Book of Job and Jonah and now yahweh has a mythology when he didn't really before. before then yahweh was the writing on the wall. the invisible truth that was obvious, the reality of the situation. during the exile that is when kabbalah sect of jews started this is when you start getting mythology, magic, demonology, angelology and additions to the old hebrew books. now soloman was a powerful wizard who had to trap the king of demons to find a glowing sandworm to carve his temple. adam had lilith as his first wife who created demons. and stories of magic users and such. and then yahwey became like the other gods when he was different, in concept in the first place. in proverbs Solomon worshiped the older traditional version of yahweh.

@@stevenmike1878 I think you are a bit mistaken. Israel is an ethnic group that splintered off of the larger Canaanite peoples. This is why Hebrew is a part of the Canaanite language group and old Hebrew is indistinguishable from a Canaanite dialect. The god called El Elyon in the bible is the same El Elyon of the older Canaanite Pantheon. The Elohim are the "Children of El". They are the other gods in the Canaanite Pantheon and the offspring of El and his wife Asherah. When the Babylonians enslaved Israel they were still polytheistic and worshiped El and his Elohim. But inspired by the Zoroastrians, they stopped worshiping the larger pantheon and started to worship El exclusively. Later, El who started as a storm/sky god got merged/syncretized with the Edomite/Midianite storm/sky god Yahweh.
This is why their are two traditions in the bible the older Elohist tradition and the later Yahwist Tradition. Also names in the bible transitioned from ending in El like Daniel to ending in Jah, like Elijah. Zoroastrian mythology didn't have to influence Israel much because their religions were similar already. Canaanite deities had wings and the Elohim became the angels in Judaism to mimic the angel like beings in Zoroastrianism. In older middle eastern mythology some Gods fathered their mythological heroes like Gilgamesh. These heroes "or men of great renown" aka "giants" became the Nephilim in the bible and it is said they are the children of fallen angels. aka the Elohim. Some Elohim like Baal Hadad were the patron gods of Israel's enemies, so they were later demonized as a fallen angel. Baal Hadad became Beelzebub for instance.

Perhaps They worshipped the Asuras (as in Hindu Mythology) called that as Ahra and their God as Ahura Mazda, while Hindus worshipped Devas and their God as Maha-Deva. Just as mentions in Hindu Purana, Teacher of Ahuras is "Sukra". They follow the traditions close to Rig Veda. Thanks for posting this. This religion of Ahuras existed for many thousand years before Zarathustra who came to regulate and systematize their practice, very much like Vyasa or Adi Sankara for Hindu Religion.

Did you mean that Judeo-Christian theology was influenced by Zoroastrianism and its ideas incorporated by the latter? The other thing i was confused by was what you said about Moses. I highly doubt that any jew would rank Moses in the same tier as Jesus Christ and Mohammed.

I was a bit strapped for time but about Judaism and Zoroastrianism, I was trying to say how Jewish texts (i.e: Isaiah and Ester) had Zoroastrianism symbolism and structure. Isaiah in particular, which I didn’t cover, shares a lot with the Zoroastrian doomsday/rapture in how it talks about reckoning and ultimate prosperity for the Jews. There is also much more to go on about similarities between Jewish and Zoroastrian eschatology and angelology that I couldn’t get into.
As for Moses, well being a Jew I would have to say that Moses is very much the pillar of Jews as a people than as a family (descendants of the patriarchs). From Moshe we gain the Torah and Zion, which are cornerstones of Judaism.
Lastly I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Seems like many people didn’t know much or anything about Zoroastrianism, so it’s good to give light to an unknown topic for most. However I think I’ll be sticking more with history topics than theology as it does get very tricky and controversial.

Islam teaches that God sent prophets to every nation and that over 100,000 prophets were sent to the people's of the earth though only 25 are mentioned by name. There is a very high likelihood that Zoroaster was a prophet of God considering that he shunned the pagan ways of his time and dedicated himself to monotheism. @Abidjanaise Theologically it is forbidden to depict any of the prophets, but practically speaking there are many Muslims that don't seem to mind using depictions of Jesus or Moses.
That is at least my experience.
Additionally, Muslims are usually only outraged by depictions of Muhammad, and not by depictions of other prophets.
There are plenty of mocking depictions of Jesus, and even of God himself (both primarily by atheists), and yet outrage seems to only happen when it is Mubammad that is being depicted or mocked.
I agree with you that Islam teaches not to depict any of the prophets, but it does seem that most Muslims don't take it very seriously unless it is about Muhammad or specifically the Muslim understanding of God.

3:45 "state religion"? Mazdaism (zoroasterianism) was NOT a state religion during Achaemenids. Their empire was somewhat an equal to modern day Secular states. So I think it is wrong to say that: their legitimacy did not come from any "Secular acknowledgement 4:25". I think the correct one is to say that: their legitimacy did not come from any "Democratic acknowledgement".

@@nomesa7374 It could be. On the other hand, there could some difference. Maybe a religion that's only an official religion of the *court* differs from a state religion in that only the upper class follows it and might not try to get the general population to follow it. Modern monotheism and Jewish monotheism are very different. The work of Michael Heiser explains that difference very well for a Christian....
So there's absolutely no connection to zoroastrianism in that regard as zoroastrianism appears to be monotheistic from the modern standpoint only.. The difference is like night and day...

My view is toward the newer date for his lifetime. Agreeing with Scholars like Moses Gaster and James Darmesteter, James Orr says:
Zoroaster's prince Vishtaspa (in Greek Hustaspes) bears the same name as the father of Darius I, and was probably the same person. Vishtaspa's queen Hutaosa, who also protected and favored Zoroaster, bears the same name (in Greek Atossa) as Cambyses' sister who afterward married Darius, and probably belonged to the same family. Zoroastrianism comes to the fore under Darius, whereas Cyrus in his inscriptions speaks as a decided polytheist. Hence, we conclude that the earliest part of the Avesta belongs to circa 550 BC.
    ...
Herodotus makes no mention of Zoroaster, but speaks of the Magi (whom he calls a Median tribe (i.101)) as already performing priestly functions. His description of their repetition of charms and theological compositions (i.132) would agree very well with recitation of the Gathas and Yasna. Mention of controversies with Gautama, Buddha's disciples (Yasht XIII, 16) who probably reached Persia in the 2nd century BC, is another indication of date. The fact that in both the Yasna and the Vendidad heretics (zanda) are mentioned who preferred the commentary (zand) on the Avesta to the Avesta itself, is a sign of late date.
