I've been looking for a solution to streaming live on IG and be able to have guests. Can it be done with OBS? Is there another tool that has figured it out?

Today I tried few apps to go live on instagram, but in every case I had audio and video problems. I'm a piano player and I want to take piano sound from my DAW so I tried to go live from PC. Basicly I had huuuge video and sound latency. Do you know what can be the cause? I already have streamed to tik tok via tik tok live studio and everything is ok. In case of ig I've tried to use OBS, Restream and Streamlabs and I got the same result everytime, so I came to obvious conclusion the problem is in the browser or instagram itself. I obviously can go live from phone, but this way I will loose Spotify sound quality. Could you please give me a hand with this? 🙂

Hey, Im facing a weird issue where my stream works great for about 30 mins or so, and then ends by itself I'm doing a live dj set so I have to open up another apps while I stream at the same time but my network is strong and stable. Do you have any idea how to fix this issue?
Had that same issue on Facebook the other day when I started streaming for the first time. For 10-30 min it would just stop randomly in the middle of my set idk why? Maybe because of the music? And that was on my phone!
Is there a way to just have a specific scene set to these settings rather than changing the global OBS resolution, fps, etc settings, I'd like to use OBS to stream to different platforms and don't want to have to fiddle with the settings when I stream elsewhere?
Hey thanks for the video. I tried everything and am pretty sure I got all the steps correct including video and audio settings. But I still get nothing in the Instagram preview screen. The only thing I can think of is my only video encoder option within OBS is “software (x264).” Not sure if this is the same has “H264” that other commentators have mentioned. I’m able to stream to TH-cam/Twitch and other platforms with this setup btw. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Can we stream normal to TH-cam and use the Aitum plugin that does the vertical stream (i live stream vertical on TH-cam already) and have that vertical content sent to IG?

RTMP Streams are always delayed. That's how they work. The Audio loop probably comes from your OBS picking up your own stream when previewing it with audio on.
I have one problem. it doesn't work for me and it is asking me to go live on Facebook when I click on find stream key even though I have the same URL as Instagram.
This doesn't really have to do anything with the content of this video. - If you need to be able to pause and resume a local recording, you can switch to the advanced output settings.

When I log into my Instagram account the only thing I see under Create is "Drag From My Computer." There is no "Live Video" option. Do I have to turn that on in my Instagram settings somewhere? (Running macOS Ventura, using Brave browser (Chrome-based).

It depends what your goal is and the produced content is. For smooth operation of OBS a basic entry gaming computer with dedicated graphics card is fine. For your audio an inexpensive USB microphone can be enough or if you move around a lot a wireless lav mic might be the right choice For the camera anything from a inexpensive USB webcam all the way up to the more expensive vertical camera with 20x optical zoom I used can work. You technically could even hook an entire TV mixing setup up to this. It really depends on what you want to do. On my channel there are some Videos about equipment maybe you get an idea of what you want there.

There is a big issue with using OBS. You can not accept guests on your instagram feed. But great video. I really appreciated it.

What about if we are creating music? How would the output from the speakers interfere with the mic?
Terribly. Make sure you have a mic setup that can not pick up the audio form your speakers.

Yes in the sense that your OBS needs to have access to the internet in order to reach the Instagram servers.

You can also use the FREE vertical plugin for OBS and stream to both TH-cam (horizontally) and IG (vertically).

What's your stream set to because it's telling me that recordings cannot be paused if recording quality is set to "Same as stream".

Either the feature is not available in your region or you are required to have a professional account.

I am not sure if this supports duos yet, there is a good chance it does not. You might have to test this with someone first.

If OBS indicated Stereo in the mixer this must be a Instagram issue. To make sure double-check the audio portion of the OBS settings menue.

Not really, you can try to take away any processing work on Instagram's end by getting as close to their recommended settings as possible.
