if I'm using a canon camera as my webcam how do I set the view to portrait from gallery? is it through camera settings or restream settings?
When working with the Restream Live Studio you can only stream in Landscape orientation. For Portrait orientation you need software like OBS to Livestream.

Instagram unfortunately is a special case yes. That's also why it's not directly supported by Restream and needs to be streamed through a third party service like Promovgram as shown in the video.
Speaking of promovgram tho.
If you use promovgram (Restream to Promovgram to Instagram) using the "RTMP Pro" feature you can rotate the entire stream by 90° which means people watching on Instagram have to turn thier phone in order to see the image in the right orientation.

Hello thank you for your tutorial, one question is it possible to have an instagram live with another person (added in the live) and stream it then via OBS? So basically included the Instagram live requested stream some how?
Using the Instagram feature is not possible however if you also watch the video about guests on Restream there is a simple way to bring guests in using the Restream feature instead.

You can also use the Restream Live Studio which is built into their website, to not have to use OBS.

Can you use two different camera sources for Restream? For example, be vertical for Instagram and Facebook using your camera and then be horizontal for TH-cam using your laptop camera or a second camera?
No, you would need two Restream accounts.
What about the problem of size and dimensions for those of us who want to have our actual size of our Facebook and TH-cam streams on instagram. Is the only way to pay for encoding hours on restream??? Or we are going to be cut off on the sides otherwise or have to get another stream set up

You can do two Livestreams with two devices however you will also need two Restream accounts as one can only accept 1 incoming stream at the time.

Promovgram allows to rotate the stream 90. So it is technically possible however your viewers then have to rotate thier phone when watching the stream on Instagram.

I recently used your tutorial to stream to Facebook and Instagram using Restream. It worked perfect! Thank you. The only issue I ran into is that the video that was streamed to Instagram was very zoomed in preventing the Instagram audience from seeing the whole screen. Facebook worked perfectly. Do you have any idea what could have caused this?
Yes. This was caused because you streamed a 16:9 stream to Instagram, a 9:16 service. If you used yellow duck it does a crop in order to fit the hight of the stream to instagram. If you used promovgram i also did a video about you have the option to rotate the video by 90° in order to fit the screen.

Great video. I just had a conversation with Restream but they are telling me I can't do this live from my phone because of yellow duck has to be done from a desktop. IS the program you are using allowing us to do all of this from one phone if you wanted?

I do pay for Restream on the first tier at $19 a month so I can stream to the Musitude official Facebook page but as I stream in Landscape mode can I assume I wouldn't be able to add Instagram to my stream as that would require me to stream in portrait to all platforms?
Instagram would do a kinda akward crop. However Promovgram now has an option where it takes a TH-cam Stream, rotates it and sends it to Instagram. You then have to hold your phone sideways to watch it.

So does this mean that the TH-cam video created will only take up the vertical center of the normal horizontal aspect ratio and have blank space on each side of the video?
I assume you are referring to livestreaming on Instagram? If you stream a 16:9 only the center will be shown on instagram (crop). However, as seen in this video you can setup OBS to stream vertical videos they won't get cropped: th-cam.com/video/WsE84LNw1vA/w-d-xo.html

It strongly depends on how you stream. Vertical or landscape.
In the description, there should be a video demonstrating how to stream on Instagram. The service used can rotate a video 90° into horizontal.

It is not 100% clear. The Instagram TOS state you shall not provide an experience you would not be able to provide using the app.
This gives some room for interpretation if this is allowed or not. So far I have not come across a verified situation in which someone got banned from Instagram for streaming. But then again it's I would say a grey zone.

There is no way to add a guest to Instagram itself. Only way to do so is using the restream live studio but that will be in a 16:9 instead of 9:16 aspect ratio
@@GreenBoxMedia Yeh this is what I suspected unless I use OBS video source from a Zoom window but then since I am using a MAc there is no way to bring the guest audio source without a bug hassle

I don't fully understand the chat app in Instagram. When you say to open the Instagram chat in your app, do you mean to have Instagram open on your phone, go live, and watch for comments? Or, do you mean to watch for comments in the Restream chat app? Thanks.
Usually chats can be seen in the restream chat app. (th-cam.com/video/VM0S-J4bey4/w-d-xo.html) However Instagram is an exception. As we learned in this video: th-cam.com/video/VcQmUnWtn0w/w-d-xo.html promovgram offers an easy web-based interface which also displays the Instagram chat.

I want other users of the restream to be able to stream to the Facebook page I manage without having access to my personal Facebook profile.
As long as you don't connect your personal profile they should only be able to stream to the public page. However testing this before sharing the Login is recommended.

I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to.
With the restream Live Studio, you can have up to 10 guests, no problem.
If you are referring to Instagram, that has nothing to do with restream and the awnser is no.

Facebook Pages require an upgraded Restream account but yes it's possible when following the instructions of this video on the promovgram one.

If you stream 16:9 to Instagram it does crop yes. But you can't control the framing it's just the middle.

You can only stream to instagram with an upgraded account (custom RTMP)
So do I need OBS to use the RTMP to go live on Facebook?
You can use OBS or the restream live studio. However you might need a certain tier to send rtmp streams from restream so you better just sign in to Facebook rather than use the rtmp option.
@@GreenBoxMedia I have the pro tier which includes rtmp streaming. I went live last night and had terrible latency, was hoping OBS may reduce it. Uploads speeds were good.
So if you were streaming using the live studio streaming using OBS can give you a better Bitrate, however it also requires more system resources.

If you have a USB Webcam it will be a USB cable. If you have an HDMI camera you will need a HDMI cable, and a USB HDMI capture card.

Yes you can. However some features of the restream Live Studio aren't 100% working on mobile yet such as Greenscreen or screen share.

In this case you need to upgrade to a paid tier since only one TH-cam channel is free and no RTMP (Instagram)

Instagram is not natively supported so it's most likely a issue with the Instagram live service. I recommend using promovgram.
Can we do instagram(portrait, cropped) & facebook (landscape full screen) at same time?
With Promovgram you are now also able to rotate the video 90° to fit in Portrait mode.

You can try using yellow duck (also have a video on the channel) but some user report the service not always working. That's why I recommend Promovgram which can afford to keep the service running at all times

If your phone can send an RTMP stream, yes.
Can I use on android
This is a web services. As long as you have an encoder on your android device that can send an RTMP stream or you are using the restream Studio you can do everything on Android, no problem.

Nowadays TH-cam wants us to put our number . Wonder if u can do something don't require number from TH-cam too for approval
@@gardenmiss1min.kepala.scalper if you want to stream on TH-cam you will always have to have a verified account, which requires your phone number. On restream I indeed used a subscription as it is the easiest way to stream on multiple platforms and I rather pay a subscription to have everything on one place than having to go to many different places for different features.

When I clicked on stop stream it didn’t stop. I had to close all open windows and then it stopped. Help please.
Depending on your encoder strength and internet connection, it can take 20-90 seconds before the stream ends.
@@GreenBoxMedia it stopped streaming on restream, OBS, and TH-cam when I pushed stop stream but it kept going on twitch.
If the screen ratio is Horizontal, is not show properly on Instagram

Restream can handle TH-cam, twitter and Facebook. For Instagram and tiktok you need a gateway service to send restreams feed to. I did an example for this in my "Promovgram" video which you can find on the channel.
