When I was 12 and loaded the game into the menu on a grey and rainy day, I had to listen to the whole track a couple of times before actually starting the game. The old Psygnosis games had a certain "nostalgic" vibe that can't really be replicated these days. The only thing I have left from the early Psygnosis/Reflection days, is a boxed version of Awesome, it's in mint condition, even the booklet is absolutely perfect :D I wish I had a boxed version of Agony or SOTB3 in good condition today. I like how much respect and love she put into this lovely cover, the way she performed it and made sure it had that soft, mellow and vulnerable felt piano like sound to it, it sounds very true to the original Amiga version, even without all the artifacts and 8-bit crunch that gave those old tunes a certain character. A good man with a giant heart, composed this melody, a good woman with just as big a heart, paid homage to it decades later :)
Ah, that unique Amiga ability to drag screens up and down ... maybe not the most utilized feature, but it was still pretty nice in come cases to split the screen into different resolutions for some programs like Digipaint, and split screen graphic adventures (80 column high resolution text split with low resolution more colorful graphics).
That was used on nearly every game (that was programmed propely) that used a separated area of the screen for a HUD with game info, score, energy, etc. It's very easy to do it using the Copper.
You save a lot memory by dividing up the screen, different resolutions, and screen depths, as well programmers can kind control the fetch / bandwidth, partial double buffering, different palettes at different part of the screen. The copper gave developers create control of display output.
A brilliant interpretation of this classic. Even if I do prefer Beast 1 and 2’s soundtracks, I can’t deny the greatness of the third one. Amazing playing.

Yes, I listen to the original compositions. There is usually no sheet music, so I have to create it myself. So to adapt the music for piano, I have to know how it sounded in the original. Yes, I have already started to play one or the other game to get an idea of the atmosphere and the gameplay. Unfortunately, I usually don't get very far.
