    Problem with Polestar is that they do not have that many offices that might be near you, and driving 250 miles one way just to test it is a bit of a stretch, whereas c40 and xc40 are available pretty much everywhere.

    I currently own the XC40 petrol and it is a great car. Whilst I would love the battery version, prices are just too high and the economics are not justifiable.

    £47k is a joke, a low mileage 5 Series Touring or E Class Estate is a far more attractive value proposition without any of the charge station/range anxiety. They need to sort price and the charge network needs to be expanded and the app/registration nonsense needs to be scrapped.

      I’ve owned both, a G31 530d Touring and a Polestar 2 (basically the same as this C40). The only thing going for the BMW is the large boot, for everything else it’s gets blown away - smoothness, infotainment, equipment spec, quietness, speed/acceleration, app functionality and over the air updates.

    It is probably me but for the amount of money it seems to be a pretty drab looking EV, both inside and out. For £50k+ there is nothing to pull you towards it. Your good review seems to point to a laziness in the Volvo approach in that they are filling a niche that will have minimal additional appeal in the Volvo/Polestar universe.

    I have the c40. I have driven the xc40, which was more comfortable with a superior interior. I’d say the c40 is for a single couple or single person who wants to feel the ride. The xc40 is for a family or person who would rather sit back and relax. Ones sporty. The other is boring.

    • @bosternou96
      @bosternou96 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, what about the view through the back window? several reviews mention it’s too small and makes it hard to view behind when driving

    • @Encephalitisify
      @Encephalitisify ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bosternou96 it is definitely noticeable, but not important in the long run. I found it didn’t bother me. In fact, it made me less stressed because I’m not constantly looking to see if someone is riding my rear. The side mirrors have a huge indicator light to let you know if someone is in your blind spot. However, the roof is finished in a padded fabric, and if you wanted. It would be easy enough to run wires through for a rear view camera set up if you wanted. It has a hallowed space for all the other wires going all over the car.

    • @Encephalitisify
      @Encephalitisify ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bosternou96 one thing I would recommend is to check the tire pressure. The ultimate trim car comes with pirelli tires, and the recommended tire pressure is 42 for the back, and 41 for the front. I found the dealership severely deflated my tires to 35 psi. I only knew about it because they changed pressure due to the season. When I put them back up to spec, boy did that make a difference on the drive. It was like driving a sports car.

    I have an XC40 recharge and it is utterly ruined by the atrociously useless Google infotainment system which is shares with this car. It’s unfinished and buggy. In one month I’ve experienced tons of issue. Speaking to it stops working, sometimes it stops connecting to the internet, the speed limit info is often inaccurate, no speed camera warnings, few apps (don’t think this is the same as Google Play store on an android phone), voice recognition is good but if often does the wrong thing (asking it to play bbc radio 2 is understood as you can see the words you’re saying appear on the screen but it results in playing LBC radio and changing the station on the screen is a distracting faff). As for apple car play, Volvo has said for years that they’ll update the system later - this is the first review that didn’t mention that so perhaps Volvo have stopped lying that it’ll come later. They infrequently update the operating system. As of May 22, the last time they updated was December which indicates they’re not really working on it much. I loved my petrol xc40 but I’ve not contacted Volvo about his one to inform them I’m considering rejecting the car because it’s simply not fit for purpose. These are lovely cars ruined by a hapless infotainment system. If you’re thinking of buying, don’t until this is fixed.
