Rec Low means it goes silent when recording; it detects when your camera is in record mode and mutes itself. Otherwise, it's all systems go for max cooling. Watching your video, looks like you didn't hook up a camera, so it wouldn't register as recording and wouldn't trigger the mute-on-record feature.
Yes you are correct about that. I was testing the maximum noise levels. Didn’t test the rec low level while recording only the level whole not recording as that’s a consideration. Would have been handy true.. thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for the detailed test! Was considering this system and comparing it to the Hollyland Pyro. The latency on the Pyro is still too massive for shoots with focus pullers so it was probably not a good option. Considered the SDR but was afraid of the noise, but seeing people comment how the Rec Low setting is still usable made me more confident in the system.
@@ODHunteI thought low was still pretty loud, I will try record low today and see how I get on. Problem yesterday was we had the transmitter and receiver in the same room so double trouble. 😂
@@ODHunte record low seems to be the setting to use, its much better. The fan screams when it’s not recording but is pretty quiet when rolling. Thanks for the recommendation.

That’s a great result then. Hope it works for you when you eventually buy it!
Good job sir Thanks
You are welcome 🙏🏿! Thanks for the feedback 👍🏿
Hi can you share any iPad cage and power setups with the dji sdr? Thanks
The main one which also has a power solution is the Accsoon cage for iPad..
Used it today on a drama shoot in a small room and the fan is silly loud, even on slow it’s audible.
Can you set it to Rec Low? Have you got a compatible camera? That’s disappointing to hear..
