I’m actually quite loving this one! I only bought it a couple of weeks ago and I’ve used it on three shoots so far… Really solid… I bought mine secondhand and so I think there was a bit of damage to the track but I dismantled it and turned the track inside out so that the damage bits were on the outside so now it’s smoother… I also have the 12 foot dolly system as well but this is great because you can move it around more easily. This is the 3 foot one.

@@ODHunte Thanks for the reply. That was my only concern was possible damage to the track. Happy to find out the track can be turned to mitigate a possible issue. I think I’m convinced. Thank you!

The start stop I use all the time via the RS4 yes.Just need to Bluetooth connect the two. Photos I’ve not tried as I never use that Blackmagic camera feature.. 👌🏿

@@ODHunte The BMPCCs are wide so it sits really awkwardly on the RS Pros, with the right side of the camera fully pressed against the Gimbal. No room for cables and the media slots were blocked from being accessed. The Pyxis on the other hand looks like it gives far more room for adjustments and additional hardware.

@@simonlewis3685 yes you are absolutely right. The disadvantage is they are deeper and with the rear external battery tilt balancing is a bit tricky depending on the lens. I will buy a BPU-30 and push the unit further back to compensate soon.

The only setting you need to have right is that you must set the PYXIS SDI output to 1080P. I found this out the hard way that the SDR doesn’t recognise the 2160P and says it’s not getting an input. 👍🏿

😂 eventually yeah.. will start will some stills in a post soon.. The footage I shoot is for stock so that’s the product and so I don’t usually put on TH-cam but may shoot some non-stock if I get some decent weather here :)

About 2-3 hours I think shooting 6K DCI.. intermittently.. This battery is a BPU-60. But I have a two pin Lemo connector set up so I swap to D Tap and never run the battery down at all.

As I’m more familiar with DJI and there may be scope for future integration I’d go with the DJI but the Hollyland does seem comparable. The latency seems less? But it can’t be powered by USB which sucks. Perhaps it’s not as power hungry as the SDR unit which *drinks* juice.. 😆

@@ODHunte ok, thanks. one question i don't know if they already updated it, but the fan noise is already solved? also if it gets very hot because of this problem? the other question is when is the battery autonomy, using a normal Sony np battery?

The weight depends on the weight of the lens and counterweights that you add on plus the transmitter etc so everyone’s final set up will be a different weight. Working on a video where I mention the weight..

Always balance upright and calibrate the gimbal, then put into creator mode and make any final tweaks. Usually only the tilt would need a slight adjustment. 👌🏿

Yes the red base is a cage I designed. I originally did one with SmallRig which was supposed to come out but then they brought out their own product and shelved my idea. I then redesigned it with the Arri side connector. I’ve not made it a product yet but let’s see.. 👌🏿

For the type of work I do I usually use an iPad Pro on a stand! I like having a larger monitor. If I have to move around I would use the 6K Pro tilt out screen but now that’s not an option I think I’ll get the Blackmagic monitor eventually. Maybe yea my phone at a pinch mean while. Phone can be mounted on a crazy arm etc.

Hey! He wouldn’t commit to say when exactly but he said very soon as they are now building the final production models but they need to tripple check all assemblies with the new workers assembling as they ramp up production. He also said L mount will be the first released with EF and PL to follow after. Lucky I ordered L mount 😂..

Also, I saw on the Blackmagic website that they released a new camera update for the Pyxis a few days ago, and in another video, they mentioned that they plan to release the screen this year. I’m going to get the L mount too. Do you think it’s a good idea to pre-order it now, just a few days/weeks before its release? Or would it be better to wait until it’s in stock for everyone?
