Arcs in between the most important arcs like chunin exams I feel like it was extremely rushed and they should have made atleast 1 arc in between to develop the characters in both strenght and in writing also to introduce US to the rest of the genins in the Konoha 12
Hot take, but you asked. I woulda done another multi-year time skip after Pain's Konoha Invasion. Age up the characters, give more of a lapse before Tobi changes mask, and buy time for the Ninja Alliance to form. So yeah, Naruto Part III.
I would add in early shippuden an arc of Naruto training under guy sensei in taijutsu, and learning change in chakra nature and to lead a team by Kakashi. Naruto can be matured up, but still goofy or an idiot(like Guy sensei) but still be able to lead.
😂😂 glad I'm not the only one holding this silent grudge against Gaara for stunting Lee's potential overall. The movies actually do Rock Lee some justice, to be fair.
The Land of Waves formula is actually great: Choose a mission with a certain rank, the rank actually underestimates the mission's difficulty because it was assigned with limited information so tension escalates, new infornation expands a lot on the societal complications of this world. That's basically what One Piece does in each island, and it's weird that after the Chuunin Exams canon Naruto only has Akatsuki/Orochimaru centered missions.
During the pain invasion arc, they could've just have each team take down some of the paths of pain. That's much better than handing Konohamaru an undeserved W.
Also, make Shino (or someone who would've done for a good matchup) defeat Konan. It always didn't make much sense to me, why didn't she help Nagato when he was fighting Naruto? Sure, at first it was all 6 paths vs one guy, so she could've thought she's not needed, but when Naruto went berserk and Pain had some problems, she could've helped. A good solution to that would be having her be defeated by someone in the Konoha and barely escape/be resummoned outside the barrier for Shinra Tensei. That way this problem would be naturally solved, plus Shino would finally have an interesting fight, plus Konan would get more than only one interesting fight. Perhaps that's what Kishimoto intended, but he couldn't spend much page time on this, so just implied they fought and skipped over the consequences of that fight.
The rescue arc was amazing. Every character, even relatively minor like Kiba and Choji got their moment to shine. The sound ninjas were also cool and interesting.
I expected that vibe would be remained in shippuden then… arghhh disapointed. The first half of shippuden was not as good as dattebayo but It was still interesting, the other half was just …meh… to me.
Well rumor or not, Chouji, Neji (and Lee from what I heard) were meant to die during the Sasuke retrieval arc It’s just too bad they didn’t do anything in part 2 since they were better off dying in part 1
I think Naruto deserved a prequel instead of a sequel, it would help to cover some plot holes and to get to know a little but more about the past cause there is many cool characters we know nothing about, I'd love to see the 2nd and 3rd War, see Sakumo fighting style, the 3 sannin fighting as a team with Hiruzen as a sensei in a mission, young Danzo and Onhoki, Kid itachi in the 3rd war fighting with Fugaku (who BTW we never saw in a fight) etc...
exactly naruto should have a prequel instead of a sequel, it would help to cover some plot holes indeed. I also want to get to know more about the past when the members of the Uchiha clan were still alive and also when the uzumaki clan was still active and stay together as one clan in the hidden eddy village I want to see an actual scenario from Kushina's story about the civil war of the uzumaki clan, how the uzumaki clan scattered around the world when hidden eddy was destroyed , their sealing jutsu's , how they made the reanimation jutsu or edo tensie and how tobirama develop it. I would also want to watch a scenario where kushina said about her mother teaching minato the uzumaki clans sealing jutsus and so much more, hope one day kishimoto decides to make a prequel but I Doubt it will happen.
I agree on the prequel. The Geopolitics of the elemental nations is a concept that was hardly explored in canon. The reason why the Sand Village betraying Konoha wasn't personal. It was business because the feudal lord of the Land of Wind decreased funding for military and outsourced jobs to other nations and it affected the Sand Village a lot. Also during the 5 kage summit, all the nations held a lot of grudges against one another. Tsuchikage was guilty of using Akatsuki for selfish purposes. Cloud Village was amassing a lot of military power and it put other villages like the Stone Village on edge.
@scorpionor9865 ikr. 😢 People wank mangekyou I think it was disastrous for the writting. That's when the scale began to get ridiculous. Itachi had to be stronger. So he introduced a power. It could have just been what could happen from sharingan when a large amount of Chakra be used. But then we had to give it black flames. Then convoluted murder your freind narrative. It was obvious that it was there to make Sasuke and Naruto final valley to make them fight. ... it was unnecessary also it set us up to just see a new power out that stupid eye when plot demanded. Sasuke stoped fighting like Sasuke. He'd be emo. And blink at u. 😅this wasn't enjoyable Itachi doing wat he did to kakashi could have simply becuase itachi was a by birth right inherited. And kakashi didn't have stamina. To use genjutsu at any real capacity to match. Powers being from gods. And reincarnation etc.
The akatsuki members did get fleshed out, what are you on? You also don’t need flesh out every character that ever appears. The story would never end if that happened.
Kishimoto was quite ambitious with Naruto narrative wise. It ran for 15 years yet what's shown takes place in less than 2 years, with multiple plot threads going at the same time. The problem was that Kishimoto attempted to wrap everything up in a single arc (War arc) and... it wasn't good because for everything that was presented, we needed far more arcs. Perhaps Kishimoto just wanted Naruto to be over because a weekly schedule must be grueling. An author with fresher spirits could have done so much more with what resulted from the Itachi twist and Sasuke's new path going from solely revenge to an overhaul of the shinobi system after Naruto's story arc was wrapped up with the Pain arc. It's gonna be 10 years since the manga ended and I still want to see what could've come up after the Five Kage Summit arc had the War arc not rushed everything through.
I know Kishimoto wanted to make Itachi a hero but what was shown in the manga failed that, although many people love Itachi, the character was not well-written. The moral aspect of his action will never let him be a hero. Sasuke changed his decision non-stop in just couples of days. Geez that made him lack of stability and annoying.
@@scorpionor98651) Yeah, Kishimoto flopped for trying to whitewash Itachi and potray him as a hero instead of a tragic villain because genocide will never be heroic no matter what. 2) If you're talking about Sasuke constantly changing his mind after the Itachi plot twist, I disagree. Keep in mind that after the battle with Itachi, Sasuke is constantly facing new information in a short span and has to adapt. Add that to the fact he's traumatized and alone in his pursuit. I don't find it annoying because it's realistic.
Here's a list of the various factions going at it at the same time in Part II alone: 1) Pain's faction who wants to achieve peace through having the monopoly on war. 2) Tobi/Madara want to take away free will so there'll be no war. 3) Sasuke whose whole world is turned upside down after the Itachi twist and wants to destroy the institutions that forced his brother to do what he did. 4) Naruto the MC who wants to bring Sasuke back to the village, which puts him at odds with his own allies. The only one fully on board with him in this aspect is none other than Itachi. 5) Orochimaru/Kabuto who have their own thing going on. 6) The village shinobi (includes the rest of the Konoha 11) who react to what the villains/antagonists do that alters the status quo and the current power balance. 7) And then there's the status quo itself, which is far from perfect because the entire political background in the story is the one breeding the conflicts the heroes and villains face in the first place since the Land of Waves arc. And if this wasn't convoluted enough, by the War arc we get ALIENS.
@NotDaveGahan Not to mention all the personal character arcs, the ways characters should naturally progress so they don't end up acting and looking the exact same as they started( literally almost everyone except MAYBE Naruto and Sasuke), the way things in the world should progress, etc. The series feels very squashed in many ways because, as I've been watching the first part of Naruto recently, I've come to see that they've got WAAAAY too much going on in the span of what may only be like 2 months. From the last part of the chunin exams to the search for tsunade is probably less than a month. Actually NUTS.
@@NotDaveGahan The problem was It should have been more time for Sasuke. Constantly declaring and then changing it makes this character very lacking in opinions, making it surprising that there are countless people who want to follow, such as Orochimaru. In reality, a person who is not steadfast and knows how to analyze the situation before making a statement will find it difficult to convince anyone to follow him.
Tenten's best moments were in the second chunin exam filler. I always thought it was weird how Shikamaru was able to summon water from a scroll during the Kakuzu fight, but that's Tenten's thing. I think Tenten would be a cooler character if she can seal and summon single-use jutsus.
I agree so much about the normal shinobi missions, that worldbuilding was what caught my attention at the beginning and my main issue with shippuden overall
It DEFINITELY should have been longer! Even that arc that Kishimoto wanted to put in in between the land of waves and chunin exams arc, I wish had been put in!
Kishimoto spend the best years of his life, working on this series. It takes a master to create such a classic cult series, influential to this day. Samurai 8 fell 👇 rock hard. The man deserves all the rest he can get.
I think, one reason, why samurai 8 failed was the setting itself. The art stile was differently. It fealed to white for me. It didnt maked as much fun to look intto the pictures, as the naturo panels or other manga (like magi). Than, the whole cyborg samurai stuff was so special, that it probally didnt catched so many people. At last, wasnt it something for me. It was to weird for me. Cyborgs itself wasnt something new or a problem (like, how it is in Edens zero). That they use swords isnt even so special. What was weird for me was, that i wasnt ableto catch up, when a fight or injure is dangerous for the chara., As much as i remember, was there very littlte actions, that could kill or injure one of that samurais (this whole core concept). And than the thing, that each of the samurai needs a princess, to unlook there power. That concept exist in other storys to (practicly Digimon, as aexample). But at the same time created it allready the image, that the princesses, wouldnt had room to improve themself. All this things together created a more weird manga. Who was harder to understand.
@@hotfart hes not writing it. it is someo toher dude the studio who produces it hired. because kishimoto wanted to stop and they forced him to do things he didnt watn to do
What Naruto as a series is missing is growth from Naruto. He grows but he really GROW, like how in early shippuden Sakura thought he came back different, even blushed at him lol but then he proved to be the same idiot child he was b4. We needed to see Naruto grow into more of a man, a leader competent enough to take charge of a mission not just grow in strength over time. We needed to see Naruto accept that he really might have to kill Sasuke when they meet again and be at peace with it all while still trying to settle it peacefully if possible. Naruto didn't think like a Hokage basically, we needed to see him grow into a character we could see leading the village one day so that when it happens it's not like "oh of course he became Hokage its his show" it'd be more like 'bout time lol because we saw him develop from a tadpole to a true wise competent toad sage so Hokage would be the next logical step
Naruto's inmaturity and lack of character development as an MC really dawned on me in both the Pain arc and the Itachi twist when I revisited the series as an adult. 1) Pain arc: Nagato comes through with the messy politics in the shinobi world and how it causes war and famine, with smaller nations like Amegakure being the most affected. Instead of having Naruto accept that this is out of his control, he successfully talk no jutsu's Nagato by promising he'll fix it despite NEVER offering him a proper answer to the issues that Nagato presented and motivated him. A childish answer to complex and realistic problems. 2) The Itachi twist: Naruto finds out that Itachi was forced to kill his entire clan so Sasuke could be spared. What does Naruto do? Still insists on "saving" Sasuke by bringing him back to the village that killed his entire family. Cool. And the narrative rewards him by the end by assassinating Sasuke's character and having him back in Konoha so Naruto can have his cake and eat it too. The older I get, the most frustrated I get with the aspect of the story that refuses to give realistic consequences to the realistic problems it presents, especially when it comes to the MC.
@@NotDaveGahan Goofy take. Pain wanted to believe it. That’s why he asked Naruto before. Pain parrots the cycle of hatred, but when Jiraiya died Naruto didn’t just kill him straight away, but wanted to understand just why he did all this. Also, Pain was literally going to die anyway, but Naruto gave him a glimmer of hope.
@@thesilvershota3091 You miss the point. There is a thing called "show don't tell". the author failed doing it sometimes, that's how talk-no-jutsu is just a meme, not a good thing at all. the speeches were so naive.
Kaguya's existence could have been showed or teased in the pain arc when naruto was training for sage mode since the toad who saw naruto's destiny was alive in hogoromo's era. the ending was really rushed but naruto and sasuke final fight is fine as is but what comes after is the problem, there should have been a whole arc showing the aftermath of the war and how the 5 great nations are doing and possibly force naruto to learn ftg in order to visit all the villages and showing us more of the versions of people in naruto the last movie.
Yup, Overall the second half was rushed. The author should not have crammed everything into the war arc, but should have divided it into smaller arcs, combining elements and giving them proper development. But I think the author has worked too hard and lost the creative energy and passion necessary to do that. That's why everything was crammed into a few days of great war. Although it was said to be a great war, it seemed that the shinobi alliance was just like scarecrows, most of the war was more like the Konoha civil war, the other villages were just guests for fun. Not to mention we didn't get to see how formidable the coordination between the entire alliance would be, they were defeated so easily by Madara alone .-. That makes the existence of previous great wars feel absurd when all the strongest shinobi were originally gathered in Konoha, so why would other villages dare to threaten Konoha? It's like now someone wants to attack America directly, thinking they won't have to pay a very high price. Reality has shown us how easily absolute power can end a war (the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan are proof).
@@scorpionor9865 for the war you are right we should have seen madara having some trouble with the alliance and another thing is like once naruto got kcm2 they kinda avoided him fighting madara for a prelonged period of time. there should be some tension on both sides to an extent where we see madara using some strategy to either win or escape. especially after he gets brought back to life seeing him trying by all means to get his eyes back and not just get handed things so easily
The manga is almost TOO fast. So fast, that it doesn't allow for a degree of character development. I don't have details, but lots of the arcs Dygo has written would literally have the show make a comeback were they ever to be animated and put to screen. We'd have so much more world building and character development that it would take Naruto from being like a 93 to a 99 all around
In Naruto part 1 there should´ve been an normal ninja mission arc and short training arc between Land Of Waves and Chuunin Exams. I think whole team 7 needed to grow more into ninjas before attempting Chuunin Exams and also we needed more time to develop friendships and relationships between characters, because Naruto and Sasuke´s friendship wasn´t developed enough for Naruto going through so much just to bring Sasuke back. And i´m not even going to talk about Sakura´s obsessive love over Sasuke, that shit makes completely no sense because they didn´t even talk much honestly. Also i think there could be 1 more arc between Search For Tsunade and Sasuke Rescue arc. Maybe arc where we see whole Konoha 12 work together and create some friendship and relationship together and especially with Sasuke because again it´s hard to believe you would go so far to even risk your life to save someone you don´t know, don´t like or don´t care much about. And in Shippuden there is so much to unpack. Develop even more the side characters, bit more info on other villages, explore lifes of other jinchuurikis, also explore both Senju and Uzumaki clans, like the main character is Uzumaki but all we know about this clan is that little info from Kushina and that Naruto, Kushina, Nagato and Karin belong to this clan, but´s that really not much. And there is so much more you could possibly explore in Shippuden. And between Shippuden and Boruto should´ve been a short series about the era after 4th Great Ninja War. In this series we could see characters as young adults finally discovering what they truly want to do as ninjas and develop the relationships between them. Like how the fuck did Choji end up with Karui? And many more stuff. It would be 100% at least 10x more interesting than whatever Boruto is.
Kurenai's team was the most wasted potential ever, Asuma's team gets pretty good amounts of screentime compared to the others, specifically Shikamaru and Choji.
Kishimoto had a lot of ideas that got scrapped,so much potential and could have been as long One Piece at 1000 episodes instead of 700 squandered so that we could get Boruto.
I, someone who actually watched all the fillers can agree that they are garbage but if you say they all suck and admit to skipping 90% of them that doesnt hold much weight
Yeah, I feel there could have been more added between the Land of Waves arc and the Chunin Exams. Maybe give Genin squads a rare collab mission here and there just to show other Genins' basic jutsu arsenals, so when it's time for the Chunin Exams, the readers will have some idea of what each Genin's jutsu package is going in while keeping certain jutsus hidden for the 1-on-1 showdowns (can't show everything to potential opponents without having an ace up the sleeve).
1) An arc between LOW & Chunin exams 2) Extended Akatsuki suppression arc with a real fight between Naruto and Kakuzu, not a cheese one. 2) An extended totally rehabbed war arc that’s the length of an actual war, with much more importance of the Edo Tensei army. It’s just really, really dumb that Obito & Kabuto decided to fight all in one place when they had a mobile army that could go anywhere in the world and didn’t need food or water. 3) Give me the volume arcs for every village.
What I feel honestly really hurt the story and made it feel rushed Was Sasuke Leaving so quickly to me it never made sense that Naruto is so determined to get him back when he barely knew him and they barely did me thing together they had one mission and part of the exam that's it Hardly enough to form any sort of attachment or bond that would cause some one to go that far As to waste two years of their life training for
I mean clearly because they both orphans & spent time together as team 7 even if most of it was glanced over or not shown it does make sense why naruto felt bad for sasuke 🤷♂
You got me thinking... Naruto being fixated on Sasuke just made sense to me. Naruto always struggled with loneliness, and the first time he feels acknowledged and cared for by one of his peers is with Sasuke, and said friend leaves home to seek revenge with the help of a dude who made no effort hiding he wanted his Uchiha body? I would be worried sick too lol. That being said, I stopped caring for Naruto's goal of bringing Sasuke back to Konoha once the Itachi plot twist comes through. It no longer made sense to me because Naruto went from being understandably worried about Sasuke's safety to wanting to being him back to the village that killed his entire family. Does he want Sasuke to be safe or is it something else? Probably, but the underlying reasons weren't explored further, missed opportunity imho. So in a way I'm with you in the same boat, even though we got there differently.
@NotDaveGahan I mean naruto is the guy that doesn't want his friend or loved ones to go downhill as he himself could have ended up the same if irika never cared about him so seeing sasuke like this hurts naruto as sasuke is like a brother to him. It's similar to obito who naruto convinced him to change his ways 🤷♂️🤔 plus it was also itachi who asked naruto to save sasuke so even he sees naruto as the only one who can save him.
@@maganhassan2627 You just ignored the most crucial part of my comment. What you said no longer applies after it was revealed Danzo and Konoha are responsible for the Uchiha clan massacre and that this situation is not as black and white as it originally seemed. Had Itachi been the sole culprit I would agree with Naruto’s goal.
..but sasuke STILL determined to destroy the leaf & even when he learnt the truth from itachi he still wanted to be hokage which involves destroying the tailed beasts which wasn't right hence why he & naruto fought in the end which naruto showing sasuke his approach to being hokage was wrong. He was trying to save his friend from going to the wrong path @@NotDaveGahan why was itachi asked naruto to save sasuke then?
I think, one main problem, that Kishimoto created was: To use a to low number of enemy. ANd the one he used, was allready to strong. Every enemy in the show, was jounin lvl or higher. Gaara is hard to calculate. Because he was official only a genin. And it looks like, as if many jounin had later powers, to break his shield. But in the chunin arc was it sayed, that he finished even B-rang missions. Was never hurt and beated even Itachis record in the second test. And by third exam, had he beated Sasuke at the end (because the mark was in the way). And Naruto had to deal with Shukaku. The only enemy, who was maybe only chunin lvl, was the sound 4/5 (hard to say, if Kimimaro was Jounin lvl). But even they had a enourm boost with the mark. I think, the sollution should have been the sound villiage itself. He created a whole villiage for Orochimaru. Who never showed up anymore, after the invasion arc. Instant of creating the akatsuki as a seperate High Jounin/Kage-lvl group, should Kishimoto had used the sound villiage more. Send out lower level people, to hunt the jinchuriki, for obtaining power, and let the Konoha 11 be involved with them. By this way, had whe seen more from the other Jinchurikie and the side cast could had enemies, they could have fighted on. With the climax of the Konoha destruction.
I’m glad you mentioned the sound villages lack of presence. Easily a way to incorporate more battles and buildup the Konoha 11 while still escalating Konoha vs Orochimaru.
The main issue here is that the work of mangaka is extremely tiring. There are series that are constantly on hiatus, endings are very rushed or they will never continue (Hunter x Hunter, Berserk, etc.), because the requirements to produce top-quality content in this industry literally destroy your health, and most of those 'on hiatus breaks' come from this reasoning. Especially for weekly series, where keeping up with the insane schedule is something that most people are barely keeping up, and sometimes they simply can't do it. Kishimoto complained about dealing with health and personal issues on his own as well while creating Naruto. Once I've learned how insane and tiring mangaka work/schedules are, suddenly I'm far more understanding of those issues and their struggles. It also doesn't help that Japanese culture is very heavily obsessed with excessive work, and how workaholism is like a plague there.
I kind of feel this way too which does feel kind of weird to think about for a manga that ran for over 15 years and I have long thought that an extra arc after the Land of Waves could have helped flesh things out
I personally feel like for Part 2/Shippuden it needed at least 3 extra arcs covering some important elements of the series that desperately needs some care & attention, which is: Team Guy, Team Kurenai, Hyuga Clan, Uzumaki Clan, & the Jinchurikis (not named Naruto, Gaara, & Killer Bee)
Man the more I reread Naruto, the more my heart breaks bevause of the wasted potential and it was not Kishimoto's fault. Man didn't catch a break the editiors were at fault.
The problem is that after "Naruto" everything in "Naruto:Shippuden" was about Akatsuki, Orochimaru and the Uchiha especially the Uchiha. The only reason why we learned more about other clans is because it had something to do with these 3 plot points. For example we learnt about "The Uzumaki Clan's Mask Storage Temple" because Orochimaru wanted to unseal his arms and also look at all that lore we got about the Uchiha Civil War and how Izanagi and Izanami were used and all that but we didnt get anything deep about most clans in the show. Naruto is so long yet so shallow onceyou ignore those three plot points.
Just add 2 or 3 more arcs prior to the war arc to develop some of his ideas and develop more characters, showcase sage mode more, maybe get kcm done if needed? Basically obito declares war and summit happens but obito says they have 1 year to comply (then his behind the scenes reasoning for waiting is the white zestu army) also put sasuke out of commission for a year by saying it takes a year for the brothers eyes to synchronize maybe have sasuke wake up 6 month in but weakened for the last 6 so his cry for vengeance stays but he isn’t taken out of the story for too long. Doing this it’s basically a training arc and heavy war preparations/local wars for a year in verse, a lot of room for world building and character development, could’ve even laid some of the ground work for the post war Shinobi alliance. Maybe there’s disagreement on what to do with Naruto and killer bee between the kage. Maybe there are local wars prior to the major one, building tension, so many options at this point in the story if he just waited a year.
19:54 I never felt this was rushed. I now know about the meta aspect of this actually being rushed, but I always felt like Naruto shows up with a brand new deadly technique and one shots Kakuzu, someone everyone else was struggling with, to show his development and I thought it was awesome.
It'd be nice if they did some spin-off manga/anime to fill out the story. Have a short one about all the missions team 7 went on. Do another one that develops all the side characters during shippuden. Maybe a separate one for Hinata to show her grow and how her feelings for Naruto develop her. Give Naruto and Hinata more time to build a close relationship we see hints of later. We also need a series that focuses on all the Jinchuriki. They are so important, but we barely get to know them at all.
I totally agree. From the great war on everything was rushed and too fast, naruto's world is big and complex and kishimoto could have made a lot more with it. Some mysterious clans like the uzumaki deserved more space and lore.
Without going into the video I agree. After the chunin-exams literally every arc that wasn't filler with the related events of what's going on around naruto is always related to either Orochimaru/Akatsuki or Sasuke. Until the War Arc happens the only exposition of Canon-Missions of Naruto we have that aren't related to those all happen before that.
6:15 The picking up trash mission and others like it were exclusive to the anime (which btw is one thing I hate more than the filler episodes. Its filler scenes in canon episodes) Introducing a tournament arc so early on mightve seemed ridiculous on papaer, but I think it turned out fine if you think about it. The rookie nine are background chaeacters so whether or not all of time get adaquate screentime doesnt really matter. I dont see the point in adding an arc before the chunin exams. Kakashi knew his students were underdeveloped, he knew it was too soon and too sudden to enroll his students, but did it anyway to shut Naruto up and teach him a lesson about being satisfied with what you get. Another "normal" mission wouldve just been padding. This is a story, not real life. Every arc in a story has to have something different/unique about it to its core so the story is memorable. Also what do you mean Sakura didn't develop as much. She mastered tree climbing/chakra control way before Naruto and Sasuke did. She protected Tazuna against the Deamon Brothers, She saved Naruto from falling from a large height in the forest of death and tended to Sasuke's wounds after he got bit by Orochimaru (she also saved him from going insane) it might not have been much compared to Sasuke but she still grew a lot as a character. Also 10 falling action chapters is waay to much. All you need is just one. Though i will agree focusing on Boruto in the last chapter was pretty lame.
A lot of blame was placed on the shonen jump editors, but wasnt it Kishimoto himself who wanted to end at 700? Or at least agreed to it, cos its not like SJ would've said no if he wanted to go on til 800 or even 900. Also, my understanding is that Kishimoto's editor has huge props for bringing a good coherent story together all the way until the pain arc.
Kishimoto's cant control the story the editor has the final word to say they rason why kagag exist and the didn't allow him to kill neji and the others in the Sasuke rescue arc and they ruined guy by not killings him so it's most the editor and the stupid weekly fault and they didn't allow him to aid more arc to focus on all these character sorry for my English
I think you should do ranking of Naruto filler arcs. Like some are better than others (Guren, second chunnin exams, missions near series ending) and some are like Mecha Naruto. Nobody has done it before so it would be quite original
As much as I liked Shippuden, it didn't have that special something that Part 1 had. It started high, but slowly began to spiral downwards. It had it's high moments, but a lot of low points. Part 1 was incredible, it had something special about it.
Naruto itself was a good amount of time but if we had any other spin off other than Boruto it’d be perfect, they ruined the show by rushing Boruto and leaving us all in the dark about 50% of the Naruto universe
That's your perspective but as a begginer with no idea about anime at all, chunin exams right after the land of waves worked perfectly fine for me. Had they included another arc about actual ninja missions as you said maybe it could have been better but a sudden shift of genre has always been my cup of tea. Yet another arc like that would have bored me a bit.
Imo one of the biggest reasons side-characters from Konoha 11 don't get moments to shine is because the there are no B-rank/Henchmen Ninjas in the Akatsuki. In shonen animes character development mostly happens through fights and if you can't give the side characters any fights how are you going to develop them? Obviously you can't have side characters defeating the main villains, so, even in Naruto most of the Akatsuki are defeated by members of team Seven. Guy and Shikamaru get to defeat an Akatsuki each and its no coincidence they also got the most development. Kishimoto does a better job with Taka, first he has all the members having to fight against B since he is much more powerful than Sasuke at that point. Then he gives henchmen to the Raikage so again other Taka members have someone to fight. Plus it also makes the fights more interesting. He did the same during Sasuke retrieval arc by having all the side characters fight Orochimaru henchmen. It would have been best if akatsuki also had henchmen (not zetsu clones, those a fodder) maybe less powerful rogue ninjas from different village, or just ninjas with Akatsuki symbol on their headband, doesn't matter.
I’ve said since they announced boruto that we should’ve gotten a series of all the naruto ogs during “The Last” Era w kakashi as 6th hokage THEN get into boruto
100% agree that a 2nd arc where team asuma, or team kurenai, were trapped on a scouting mission and required the other 2 rookie teams to support/rescue them would have been a great addition before the Chounin exam arc.
in paet 1: we should've also gottwn more stuff with anko, and especially how she could relate to Sasuke: maybe we can see aome of her past woth orochimaru and why they parted ways. maybe she could train Sasuke on how to deal with the curse mark, etc. THAT was truly wasted potential.
Yes, finally someone else is saying that. I have been saying that for a long time. Naruto had too fast of a pacing and I wish Kishimoto slowed down the story to flesh out the characters more and added more light moments.
Dude I’m here new to your channel. Just ended up watching one about the things anime did differently than the manga and then I watched the akasuki members and ranking how they died. Now I’m here. Dude I think I’m hooked
I don't think you're insane, and while controversial I feel this way about almost EVERY manga Jump comes out with. I understand that these authors are worked like a war horse, but I genuinely believe that if most of these authors were given the time and care they could easily create stories on par with or surpassing One Piece. Yes, I think that if these other authors could cook we could get some amazing works. Ones that come to mind for me are Naruto (like you have illustrated here), Bleach (we are still hopefully getting the Hell arc but we ALL know the ending was rushed) and Toriko (when we got to the Gourmet World, we were only really able to get Area's 6, 7 and 8 before the fight for GOD). All could have been longer with more development for the characters and the world itself. I understand that this desire is kinda selfish in practice, HOWEVER that doesn't mean the quality of the story wouldn't have the potential to be even better than it was.
Add more character arcs for the Kurenai and Guys Squad. As well as the Sand Trio. Only Asumas team got any development til the War. And Guy/Kurenais Squad had wasted arcs just throwing them in to say they were there.
Fr they could have explored characters like ten ten , Lee, or neji who had infinite potential. Compare the buyakugan to the sharangan Sharangan had like hundreds of variations and multiple stages and lore and crazy jutsu like Susano and a crazy thing like izanagi And then there's the biyakugan which has gentel fist and rotation and only that, tensagan dosent count cuz it's only a otsusiki thing if you count tensegan then consider the renegan also which renegan is much better . They could have given biyakugan something like a chakra mode or jutsu prediction, other modes like biyakugan stage 2 which could be called crimson mode, pearlescent biyakugan which would grant you the ability to have extremely good chakra control or ability to read minds or its own sage mode I realy want the biyakugan to get a glow up to go up against the sharangan
Dude I want more hidden rain village stories & characters. I just wanted more from that village in general. & More development for Lee & Neji would've been dope. So many dope characters that went nowhere
Ok, You got me curious!!! I'm open to it! 22:10 BRO, Sasuke only helped Team 7 bc the world was at stake!!! Sasuke still wanted to destroy Konoha for what it did to his entire CLAN! Though the Uchiha were wrong but what Konoha did was possibly the worst they could have done!!!
If It was able to go for more chapters, the war arc could have been handled better, not that rush and made so many stupid plots and ridiculous buffs… I would be happier if Kishimoto chose to write more about other villages and give more screen-time for the character from chunnin exam. Kishimoto shouldn’t focus too much on Uchiha and Konoha drama.
Most of the side characters got a full arc in part 1 when they were kids. They realized something, their world view was changed, or they found strength, etc. it would’ve been cool to see each character challenged in a way specific to them in shipuuden, like Shikimaru did. If they would’ve did that this would be the unequivocal best anime in the history of anime for me lol
If Tite Kubo can get a 2nd chance after health issues so can Kishimoto. I'm glad someone FINALLY said the Konoha 12 was underdeveloped, NOT just Female characters. Naruto has a ton of wasted potential: 1. Fillers: I agree and disagree. There were some interesting fillers that helped developed the characters and showed the outside world. 2. War Arc: The resurrected shinobi should've included Sakumo, Dai, Fugoku, etc. 3. Fedal Lords: I honestly believe if they wanted to include the fedal lords, have the samurai be their protectors. The villages can be the countries, but the lords can be the business people (Needed more focus on this). 4. The Konoha 12 fight and win the war. They had the PERFECT MOMENT: Sakura says "I finally catch up to you guys" and Hinata looking at Naruto responds with "We all do". All of them get Kyuubi cloak fighting Madara. 5. Team 7 dynamic: It needed more. If Naruto was the demon fox and Sasuke was the dark avenger, Sakura was the ONLY one on the team that had 1 thing... CHOICE. Her biggest moment should be choosing to save Naruto and Sasuke like so many couldn't. She, unlike other ninja families and others, didn't need to be a ninja, but chose to be.
What really makes it feel rushed was how Orochimaru was built up to be a big villain just for him to be dealt with out of nowhere. The Sasuke Rescue arc was amazing, and I would've loved to see all those genin head out to find Sasuke in Shippuden - to fulfill the mission they failed as genin. Would've been cool after all the development they had.
They treated my man Orochimaru like shit, wtf Itachi oneshoted him every single time .-. Even in weak state… If Itachi won in some battle of wits, then it was inevitable, Orochimaru would absolutely lose to Itachi on all fronts. Not to mention all the plots and tricks Orochimaru had always carefully prepared, suddenly never appeared every time he met Itachi. He just rushed straight in like a brainless man. Even Jiraiya - who was built more stupid than Orochimaru - showed much better analysis and planning abilities in the Shippuden part. At the war arc, suddenly from a perverted psychopath who tortured, tortured, experimented and killed people without mercy, he chose to help Sasuke. And then after all the crimes he committed, he was released on bail. What the hell? This iconic villain was absolutly ruined!
Would've been nice to have more scenes with the Jinchurki, I felt it could be remade to had more scenes and arcs I between while still keeping the main story intact just with Naruto more familiar with the characters and maybe give the side characters more spotlight, I'm pretty sure it was filler but I loved seeing the characters chunin examples during the timeskip where we got to see something of Fuu and more of Gaara and the others without Naruto handling problems. Rip Gaara x Fuu 🤧
It's funny that some stories can be dragged out and rushed at the same time like shounen stuff. I do wish we could get more anime that know when they should go or don't get hampered by the exects
I disagree. While that would've been good, it would've only caused even worse for Kishimoto's health, and the dude was already going some tough stuff while making Naruto.
I think the Utakata arc is more watchable than the 2 previous filler arcs before it, because you kinda get to know his character as a Jinchuriki. I know it delays the news of Jiraiyas death, even though he and Itachi died the same day, so the whole arc doesnt really fit at this point in the story, but I like the idea of the other Jinchuriki not being just 'there' as plot fodder... like Fuu from Takigakure, which had a story LATER on,as a flashback. I think its a shame to have all the Jinchurikis just dead. And their stories just be scattered somewhere (when they even have any)...
3.54 the second one from the top right isn't filler, it's based on a cannon novel. but it does really feel like filler. and i agree that guren and sora are the best filler arcs. it's not even close
The War Arc would have been better if more time passed in universe during it. But we didn't need Part 2 to be longer. If anything some stuff should have been cut out. Part 1 could have had another arc though.
8.12 so true! which is i love the non-canon short film where they go to the waterfall village. i wish that we actually got to see that scene from op1 where Naruto and Sasuke fist-bump. the two fo then going back to business as usual after the kand of waves is just so stupid and disappointing. does kishinoto not understand that there are simoly things that hou CAN'T go throu together without becoming incredibly close friends?
Giving backstory and depth to characters is a wise choice if you want to make a series longer. IT BECOMES OBNOXIOUS WHEN YOU DO THIS THING WHERE YOU MAKE 1 EPISODE CANNON AND THEN YOU DO 3-20 FILLERS! For example, Kakashi requires more depth as to why he is. I technically did need his life story. That is a good example. What is a test of patience, is using one single idea of the story as a catalyst for what is currently feeling like a decade long arc of several mental monologues of characters who really didn’t need depth but the creators felt the need to reach the 500 episode mark for giggles and or 💩! Watching what for some was Saturday or Sunday or whatever day cartoons should not feel like a chore. I shouldn’t have to feel exhausted because they wanted to line their teeth with gold.
Naruto series will always infuriates me for how better it could've been, the way he wrote the main cast always piss me off. He set up Sakura to be a genjutsu prodigy but he just turn her into Tsunade 2.0. This could've been so well when she confront Sasuke, she can break his genjutsu literally & figuratively to make he come to his sense instead of "I'm gonna kill Sasuke" or whatever. Would've made their encounters more emotional & their love story more acceptable. Instead we got Naruto vs Sasuke, again. Gahdamn, Kishimoto.
With all due respect I completely disagree. The series should've ended after Pain. I can see why it didn't but I just found Pain/Nagato a lot more interesting than Obito and Madara
they couldve still kept it to 700 chapters, just severely trim the war arc and replace it with something else. it had no right being that long and terribly paced.
i wouldve added an arc centered to the akatuski trying to get the tailed beast, not even that long...like 20/30 chapters, stretched 5 kage summit and made it a major arc with more thing happening, maybe even more political like the hunter x hunter election arc
What chapters/arcs would you add in the story?
More Boruto fr
Arcs in between the most important arcs like chunin exams I feel like it was extremely rushed and they should have made atleast 1 arc in between to develop the characters in both strenght and in writing also to introduce US to the rest of the genins in the Konoha 12
Hot take, but you asked. I woulda done another multi-year time skip after Pain's Konoha Invasion. Age up the characters, give more of a lapse before Tobi changes mask, and buy time for the Ninja Alliance to form. So yeah, Naruto Part III.
I would add an arc about the uzumakis and naruto along with sakura and kakashi (with one team from the konoha 12)
I would add in early shippuden an arc of Naruto training under guy sensei in taijutsu, and learning change in chakra nature and to lead a team by Kakashi. Naruto can be matured up, but still goofy or an idiot(like Guy sensei) but still be able to lead.
Having Lee participate in saving Gaara would have been such a good plot point when Gaara was the one saving him from kimimaro
No, Gaara's saving was for his breaking of Lee's leg and attempt to kill him.

Yeah actually, I'm surprised this isn't MORE common, cuz in reality, even the clients may not have perfect information
It's not the same as one piece
And one piece is a adventure fantasy
Naruto isn't adventure

@@The_Average_Ragebait_Borutard Bro, they not even using bait anymore. They just throwing the entire rod in the water now.
During the pain invasion arc, they could've just have each team take down some of the paths of pain. That's much better than handing Konohamaru an undeserved W.
The path was pretty weak+ konohamaru had been training.
The paths would’ve destroyed any of them in a 1v1 lol
The rescue arc was amazing. Every character, even relatively minor like Kiba and Choji got their moment to shine. The sound ninjas were also cool and interesting.
That shit had me cry for choji bro 💀
I expected that vibe would be remained in shippuden then… arghhh disapointed. The first half of shippuden was not as good as dattebayo but It was still interesting, the other half was just …meh… to me.
Well rumor or not, Chouji, Neji (and Lee from what I heard) were meant to die during the Sasuke retrieval arc
It’s just too bad they didn’t do anything in part 2 since they were better off dying in part 1
@@aceclover758Choji did great against Edo Asuma and Gedo Mazo
I still think the sound 4 should have lived. I don’t think they deserved to die and were killed off too soon
When they did the Minato One-Shot, it explained the origin of the Rasengan, I kinda wished they kept these kind of stories.
There are several light novels that come before the main series
we definetly needed arcs to explore the members of the akatsuki, the other villages, the jinchuriki and the konoha 12 for gods sake!!
Instead of that, Uchiha got new jutsu every goddamn 5 chapters 🤦🏻 makes me feel like this is Uchiha shippuden.

I think it was disastrous for the writting.
😅this wasn't enjoyable
Itachi doing wat he did to kakashi could have simply becuase itachi was a by birth right inherited.
And kakashi didn't have stamina. To use genjutsu at any real capacity to match.

@@The_Average_Ragebait_Borutardboruto is gay so that doesnt matter
Here's a list of the various factions going at it at the same time in Part II alone:
1) Pain's faction who wants to achieve peace through having the monopoly on war.

Kishimoto spend the best years of his life, working on this series.
It takes a master to create such a classic cult series, influential to this day.
Samurai 8 fell 👇 rock hard.
The man deserves all the rest he can get.
Yet he continues to ruin it with Boruto

One-sided character and talk-no-jutsu ruined Naruto, made him a meme and the story's message seem overly superficial and naive.

@@LiktechTz thank God the bday was for one episode or else it would be Fckd up😂
Yup, Overall the second half was rushed.
"The Guren arc and the Sora arc are the only watchable fillers in Shippuden." Did you just completely forget about the Kakashi and Itachi filler arcs?
Chikara was preety good
Robot Naruto: 🗿
They are light novel adaptations, not fillers.
There is character development what you mean? Naruto. Sasuke. Shikimaru. Garra. Ect.
We should have gotten more arcs in og naruto focusing on the other teams. Especially kurineis and asumas team.

What sucks is that naruto altogether is 700 episodes.. but out of that 700, maybe 400 are actually Canon since it had so much filler
1) An arc between LOW & Chunin exams
2) Extended Akatsuki suppression arc with a real fight between Naruto and Kakuzu, not a cheese one.
I think, one main problem, that Kishimoto created was:
To use a to low number of enemy.
Out of all the big 3 Naruto has the least amount of villains. It literally is only orochimaru and akatsuki
I kind of feel this way too which does feel kind of weird to think about for a manga that ran for over 15 years and I have long thought that an extra arc after the Land of Waves could have helped flesh things out
its mostly the fault of Shonen Jump’s editors, its the same reason why the Pharaoh’s Memories Arc of YuGiOh! ended the way it did
I personally feel like for Part 2/Shippuden it needed at least 3 extra arcs covering some important elements of the series that desperately needs some care & attention, which is: Team Guy, Team Kurenai, Hyuga Clan, Uzumaki Clan, & the Jinchurikis (not named Naruto, Gaara, & Killer Bee)
3:50 The Star Village filler is the best one. Had a great soundtrack and a good story.
I preferred The Itachi and Kakashi anbu fillers.
@@justinarzola4584 I was talking about Part 1. I never watched any Shippuden fillers.
I think this can summarized to "Kishimoto is good at writing potential, not results"
I love these teasers for your rewriting series
We would have more content to talk about, 'cause Naruto mines are running low after all these years
The waterfall ova filler probably could fit between land of waves and chunin exam
I totally agree. From the great war on everything was rushed and too fast, naruto's world is big and complex and kishimoto could have made a lot more with it. Some mysterious clans like the uzumaki deserved more space and lore.
i actually liked the filler, cuz i remember the whole of part 1 was airing on tv and i binged it as a teenager
6:15
The picking up trash mission and others like it were exclusive to the anime (which btw is one thing I hate more than the filler episodes. Its filler scenes in canon episodes)
Introducing a tournament arc so early on mightve seemed ridiculous on papaer, but I think it turned out fine if you think about it.
Should've been longer for Naruto fans and running along side Boruto. Would be a great move imo
I’ve said since they announced boruto that we should’ve gotten a series of all the naruto ogs during “The Last” Era w kakashi as 6th hokage THEN get into boruto
The shonen jump editors insight are quite interesting
100% agree that a 2nd arc where team asuma, or team kurenai, were trapped on a scouting mission and required the other 2 rookie teams to support/rescue them would have been a great addition before the Chounin exam arc.
in paet 1: we should've also gottwn more stuff with anko, and especially how she could relate to Sasuke: maybe we can see aome of her past woth orochimaru and why they parted ways. maybe she could train Sasuke on how to deal with the curse mark, etc. THAT was truly wasted potential.
I will never understand how Oda got freedom control more, than any other creator in that company.
But Dygo imagine if all the filler episodes were replaced with onsen or beach episodes? Surely that would fix the problem of bad fillers lol.
Naruto’s already good as it is. But I wonder what it could’ve been if Kishimoto was given full creative freedom. I would love to see it
Add more character arcs for the Kurenai and Guys Squad. As well as the Sand Trio. Only Asumas team got any development til the War. And Guy/Kurenais Squad had wasted arcs just throwing them in to say they were there.
Fr they could have explored characters like ten ten , Lee, or neji who had infinite potential. Compare the buyakugan to the sharangan
Sharangan had like hundreds of variations and multiple stages and lore and crazy jutsu like Susano and a crazy thing like izanagi
And then there's the biyakugan which has gentel fist and rotation and only that, tensagan dosent count cuz it's only a otsusiki thing if you count tensegan then consider the renegan also which renegan is much better .
They could have given biyakugan something like a chakra mode or jutsu prediction, other modes like biyakugan stage 2 which could be called crimson mode, pearlescent biyakugan which would grant you the ability to have extremely good chakra control or ability to read minds or its own sage mode
I realy want the biyakugan to get a glow up to go up against the sharangan
The sage mode could be of an animal (like a lion since hinata uses twin lion fist) which would be exclusive to the clan and give it more lore
If It was able to go for more chapters, the war arc could have been handled better, not that rush and made so many stupid plots and ridiculous buffs…
I would be happier if Kishimoto chose to write more about other villages and give more screen-time for the character from chunnin exam.
Kishimoto shouldn’t focus too much on Uchiha and Konoha drama.
I 1000% agree it should have been longer
Most of the side characters got a full arc in part 1 when they were kids. They realized something, their world view was changed, or they found strength, etc. it would’ve been cool to see each character challenged in a way specific to them in shipuuden, like Shikimaru did. If they would’ve did that this would be the unequivocal best anime in the history of anime for me lol
If Tite Kubo can get a 2nd chance after health issues so can Kishimoto. I'm glad someone FINALLY said the Konoha 12 was underdeveloped, NOT just Female characters. Naruto has a ton of wasted potential:
Even in weak state…
If Itachi won in some battle of wits, then it was inevitable, Orochimaru would absolutely lose to Itachi on all fronts.
War arc takes so much space
about filler: some of it is good and genuinely adds to the story in a meaningful and good way, but most of it isn't
Hearing "naruto was rushed" especially with long ass arcs like the war arc has to be one of the hottest takes ever
Look at the manga and it's very obvious that it was rushed
Didn’t they say kishimoto had more thought out plot lines but was rushed by CR?
I feel like there is much more to explore if only kishimoto created a manga prequel rather than boruto. It could've solidified the entire timeline.
17:36 I got chills from that.
The anime should've been longer, remove the filler, and expand on real things actually covered in the Manga
I disagree. While that would've been good, it would've only caused even worse for Kishimoto's health, and the dude was already going some tough stuff while making Naruto.
But we're talking about in-manga consequences, not real-life ones.
15:21 bro this would've been AWESOME if Choji and Neji died. Lee too!!!!
Without context you sound like a psychopath
I think the Utakata arc is more watchable than the 2 previous filler arcs before it, because you kinda get to know his character as a Jinchuriki. I know it delays the news of Jiraiyas death, even though he and Itachi died the same day, so the whole arc doesnt really fit at this point in the story, but I like the idea of the other Jinchuriki not being just 'there' as plot fodder... like Fuu from Takigakure, which had a story LATER on,as a flashback. I think its a shame to have all the Jinchurikis just dead. And their stories just be scattered somewhere (when they even have any)...
I wish the manga expended more 0n the 6 jinchuriki that kishi didn't flesh out and the hidden villages too
3.54 the second one from the top right isn't filler, it's based on a cannon novel. but it does really feel like filler.
and i agree that guren and sora are the best filler arcs. it's not even close
I mean even those part 1 fillers were better than boruto
Bro filler is really fun to watch and expands the world building of the series
Man, I clicked this video so fast when I saw the thumbnail. I thought it would be about Naruto's hair as an adult.😂
The War Arc would have been better if more time passed in universe during it. But we didn't need Part 2 to be longer. If anything some stuff should have been cut out. Part 1 could have had another arc though.
Add more content, explore the world, create more lore like more clans, locations and unique weapons and more.
Boruto: Am I a joke yo you?
Fandom: yes
Love your content! You're one of the Best naruto creators🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Gahdamn, Kishimoto.
i don't understand why you hate the pacing of the anime so much. to me, the slow burn is one fo the defining features of the naruto story!
The only filler arc i liked was the one with kakashi struggling the trauma of obito and rin after the fact. It was like bonus stuff
