    (In total we have spent more than 10k modifying this MK7 GTI. That does not mean there are currently 10k worth of mods on the car. Many things I have tried and sold or traded for something new. As the build sits I would say it is roughly 7-8k in mods)

    Thanks for sharing your experience with the GTI. It helps to get someone's perspective with the good and bad. Nothing can replace the joy of working on your ride no matter how much the upgrades cost. 😁 Money well spent!

      I wanted to go APR just didn’t get my GTI in time they got popped for their stage 2 before I could get it. And absolutely! I look forward to getting together!

    I wish I was a little more patient in waiting for aftermarket turbos. I jumped on the first hybrid turbo that come out for my 17’ GLI. My timing couldn’t have been more awful because COVID shut everything down and my ECU bricked when the custom tune was being installed. I had to wait 2 months for a new Ecu and during that time an upgraded version of my turbo came out and CTS also released their BOSS kit. I’m slapping down decent power but you always wonder..... what if? Lol

    Go vortex man it spools faster. Theyre pretty much the same turbo but the garret spools a lot slower than the vortex/ Vortex XL. EQT has a custom tune based on the modifications on your gti. I absolutly love them. Check them out youll get a big power jump and the reliability of your vehicle stays up there.

      I’m not going to be switching tuners when I upgrade turbos. Sneekytuned offers all of the same things you’ve mentioned and the fastest 60-130 stock block mk7 GTI runs a TPC20. I will am definitely considering a vortex turbo I’m just doing some more research on what will work best for what I’m going for. I definitely appreciate the advice though!

      @HaydenCroix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Shannon! If you do go the SneekyTuned route he can code out the CEL from the rear o2 sensor if you want. (You can always use the Cobb AP to ready your emission sensors for inspection) APR stage 2 high torque file is not bad but not great to be honest, I personally recommend a custom tune if you want the most out of the car.

      @@HaydenCroix The apr 2 flash took care of it, took awhile to clean the ecu out my guy said... went high torque 93 octane and I was expecting better especially after a southbend clutch... Sneaky seems to have a better curve

    • @HaydenCroix
      @HaydenCroix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shannonmcatee9610 The power curve with my SneekyTune is awesome. That was one of my biggest issues with my Unitronic tune. Now I honestly have useable power from 2,800 rpm to 5,700. And this is just with the IS20. I can't wait to see the power band once I go hybrid turbo with them.

    Dude I’ve been driving with my custom 93 sneeky tune for a while no issues. Flashed the custom e30 with no fuel mods, and got instant fuel cut and then misfire. Cleared codes and car drives fine until you hit around 3k rpm or give more than 50% throttle, starts fuel cutting and then will misfire. Burned up that tank and filled up with 93 and still same issue. Waiting to hear from sneeky on what to do but man it sucks. He takes so long to respond. Almost done with this tank so hoping fingers crossed another tank of 93 will reset things

    • @HaydenCroix
      @HaydenCroix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have had a similar issue in the past and it turned out it was just bad fuel. I also had my first e30 file overboosting around 3,700 rpm. This was fixed with some revisions.

    • @DaseggMQB
      @DaseggMQB 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HaydenCroix okay cool that makes me feel better. There was a couple gallons of e30 blend still in when I put the first tank of 93 in so maybe that’s still throwing it off.

    • @HaydenCroix
      @HaydenCroix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaseggMQB It honestly should. I had to personally fill up once I ran out and ran that tank down to 1/2 way then topped off with 93 again and about 15 minutes later of driving it was resolved.

    I have stage 2 unitronic. Would I have to get it removed first to switch to sneekytuned or it doesnt matter. Also what tune would you recommend for some aggressive pops and bangs? Great vid appreciate it!

    • @HaydenCroix
      @HaydenCroix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sneeky or EQT if you want aggressive pops and bangs. And you would need to flash back to stock before flashing to Sneekytuned. Btw thanks for the support!🤘
