- Ben Watkins, one of the contestants on MasterChef Junior Season 6, is best remembered for his positive attitude in the face of the tragedy in his life. The jovial and charming Watkins, while not a contender in the Top 18 of the season, was certainly well loved.
After Ben was diagnosed with a very rare and very aggressive form of cancer, the entire cast of MasterChef Junior came together to record a very sweet video message to wish him well.
Unfortunately, after a year-and-a-half of chemotherapy, Ben lost the battle. Here are the details of the heartbreaking death of MasterChef Junior star Ben Watkins.

Mad respect to Ben. Lived such a terrible life yet still strong. One of the most saddest stories I heard. Even his parents didn't make it. Whoever married Ben's mother just made the whole world sad.

...there really are times where I can't fathom how bad a lot you can get in life until I see something like this. To get an opportunity for Master Chef Junior, and in only 3 years he would watch his family kill each other and be hit with a disease that claimed his life shortly after.
This is no rollercoaster, this is some kind of sick "Long Live the King" bit brought to life. May this talented boy rest in peace and cook up some amazing dishes with the good lord above.

I went to school with Ben, and it’s just heartbreaking to think about how much he went through at such a young age. I remember when my mom told me about what happened to his parents, and that blew everyone’s mind that it had actually happened. Bens mom was super sweet and helped out with crafts and whatnot in our class. I sometimes wonder what he would be like if he was still around.
This was the best friend of my son …. Thank you for the time you graced us … my family will never forget you
I just started watching this show and I was so impressed with Ben! Then I saw this video. How very heartbreaking. I don't know you but am so sorry for your loss. What else can you say? Hold your child everyday like it's the last. I just know Ben is in his mother's arms right now. God needed a little angel for something.

@@Duskets that’s kind of a lazy excuse to be against the idea of a god, honestly. I’m not religious but clearly there’s gotta be misery and sadness as to test who truly believes in God. Imagine a world with no suffering, everyone just goes to heaven. Nobody feels pain, nobody suffers, God just comes down and help anyone who needs it. That’s clearly not how any god would function. 🤷🏻♂️

Cancer sucks for sure, but it sucks 434876539486x more when it hits a kid..... Signed, a 3 time survivor currently on his 4th fight, who got his inspiration from a 3 year old in the next room when I had to live in the hospital for two weeks.

It's been more than 2 years since his passing, Ben did not deserve to die at a very young age, despite him not growing up to be who he wanted to be and not able to finish school, he can still reunite with his parents from heaven, and for those of you who did not know when the moment he passed away, Gordon Ramsay donated $50,000 to Watkins' cancer treatment, such a respectable man and may God rest his soul ❤️ 🕊

My god. I usually dont cry and feel torn apart for people I see on TV. But this, this..... Is just completely heartbreaking. His mother and father died in a murder suicide, and he dies of cancer. God bless his surviving family, because they know they lost a true warrior who wouldve been an artist in the food world. Just like his mother was an artist. But now he is with his mother and his father (regardless of how yall want to hate on him for what he did, we were not there, nor do we know the story).
