Fair point. Perhaps the best solution would be to build a replica in a very different place such as Thailand which is mostly Buddhist. That way far more people will be able to appreciate the historical and religious significance of what the replica stands for. There's also not much point in rebuilding anything as long as the Taliban continue to threaten Afghanistan. Any replica rebuilt in the same place will most likely be targeted again, wasting all the money spent to rebuild it.
