You should definitely at the very least consider visiting Iceland sometime, either for a vacation or for a show. I'm confident we'd love you here.
Ayyyyy I got the auDHD too!! I often describe my brain as one of those wheels with the bingo balls in it, you turn the handle and it spins and eventually a thought falls out, nobody gets to pick which one or when.
You're making a neurodivergent community in this comment thread 😂 I'm also disabled (autism, adhd, Asperger's, [now severe] depression, anxiety and insomnia). Also, hi, my fellow neurodivergent friends 🥺👋💜
I went to school with a few people who stuttered. I never understood the bullies. I thought it was adorable and helpful because i have trouble following conversations and once they were finished with whatever word they were stuttering on I found my place within the conversation at the same time the conversation continued and i was like omg I have found a group of people I can talk to and follow!
I'm ride or die for my glitchy/twitchy bestie & super protective b/c I know how it feels to be made fun of for things out of your control. I grew up in a time where you had to hide your flaws to avoid relentless bullying from both children & adults, alike. He was born after people started trying to treat others with some kindness. He's younger than I am, but we're both stuttering ADHDers. We have the best conversations b/c both of us "get it". We cut each other off with random thoughts & sometimes finish each other's sentences in unison, but neither of us has ever finished a word for the other person. It's just rude, & when you have a speech "impediment" (I use that term loosely b/c it's 2023, for Pete's sake.) you usually get kindness, empathy, & patience on the side. He reminded me that it's ok to be unapologetically me & I'm grateful for that every day. ❤️ Oh, & I forgot my original thought... It never bothered me when someone else had a speech issue. I didn't even realize mine was noticeable until I was a preteen.

But it seems like i got dyslexia now instead cause i need to correct every other f-ing word, lol (no i don't use autocorrect, it's a PC)
I really thought he was interacting with the lady in black/glasses. She seemed so annoyed/offended with every single joke Drew says! 😂 And then I read his pinned comment...everything makes more sense now. Lol
i've seen this video twice now and i still thought he was talking to the lady with the glasses , both times i realised he was talking to the other lady
as soon as she said she was the one with the stutter I was surprised he didn't say "oh so you went to school for it so you didn't have to pay for the therapy yourself, smart"😂
I had to take speech therapy my entire school life. It wasn't until my last year of highschool did I finally decide I wasn't gonna let people tell me how I should talk, and that I was just gonna talk how I felt comfortable. Nothing against you, Drew, or anyone else. That's just the choice I made for myself, since my overbite and tongue-tied thing wasn't gonna be going anywhere without surgery, and I wasn't about to have my jaw sawed off and lengthened just so I can talk better and stuff. The 4 years of braces did plenty of work to satisfy me as it is. And certainly nothing against the speech therapists I had either. They were all nice and fun. I just came to the conclusion that I'd never ever be able to say the word "girl" properly no matter how much I tried. I just tell people I have trouble saying my Rs and Ls right away to get it out of the way. And it can even lead to some hilarity sometimes with the right people. Been watching you since the Dog Vlogs btw.
Hi Moos! I have Rhotacism myself, trouble with any word that has an "r" in it, and I like your story a lot. Speech Therapy pulled me from my favorite class, English, and forced me into a tiny room with an adult holding a rubber tongue and telling me I needed to work harder to sound better. I am now 30 and my Rhotacism still has not been "fixed". I am also majoring in English so I can teach English at a higher level of education. Changing perceptions around speech impediments is super important to me and I am happy to know that so many others out there feel the same way as me. There is nothing wrong with how we speak, we merely sound "different" from everyone else.
@@TheBrenanas Yay! So happy to hear your story too. English was my favourite subject in school as well, and still is! I'm working on becoming a novelist. I'm 28 now and I write every single day and have been creating stories ever since I was 6. ^^ I wasn't always the best at English class tho. Use to get Fs cuz of my learning disorder and autism, but ever since they put me in special ed, and ever since that book writing project I got in 7th grade, I've got nothing but straight As in English for the rest of my school life! The inspiration to write and read books reeally saved me, in more ways than just with grades. Hope you become an English teacher one day so you can inspire others like me! X3
I get this. I'm still in speech therapy. I get so upset when seeing someone that I see attending also or seeing them. Working with adults is cool, none are around here for me. But keep up the work! You got me to be comfortable talking again. Far my favorite comedian! Keep up the work!
When I went to Marine bootcamp there was a guy in my platoon that had a terrible stutter and a lisp. On black Friday when you meet your drill instructors and the fun begins - he was singled out immediately. He was taken away by the only DI we had who was a career infantryman. I felt bad for him. Turned out that the Kill Hat instructor had also had a terrible stutter at one time. He remembered the speech techniques he was taught to help him with it. He spent an hour with this guy everyday for the first week teaching him. Guys like me who were well spoken and well read were "encouraged" to read with him in our downtime. I was his squad leader so I shouldered most of the reading. We'd read "A Rifleman went to War". I'd read a chapter out loud from my copy, then he'd read the same chapter back from his after he'd seen the words and heard them spoken. We read that book cover to cover twice in a week. It worked. It was pretty damn amazing He lost his stutter. He lost most of his lisp. He became an avid reader. He only got better at it as his confidence built up. I haven't though about that in awhile.
@@kat7047 I said he lost most of his lisp. Do you need help with reading? I'm not a speech pathologist but since you asked - it was all about tongue placement. Something about where he put the tip of his tongue when making certain consonant sounds.

I have been watching your stuff for a few years now and you are my favorite comedian. I have a stutter and have been going to speech therapy for it and I see you as a role model. If you can get up on stage and tell jokes with a stutter then I can go through my life with the same confidence.
Everyone thinking the woman in the glasses isn't amused. Drew is talking to the woman next to her, you think she wants to do anything to become the next target? Just thinking about the guy with the laugh and he was all the way across the room. LOLFOF.
In fairness, she just might be having a bad time in general and came here to feel better after her dad died, or maybe she just has been really depressed with work. Maybe she's just not an emotive person who smiles but doesn't do the "big laugh" that those around her do. Or maybe she has a stomach ache but doesn't want to get up and be rude. You don't know what people are going through, and as long as they're not being rude on purpose, sometimes it's OK to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Drew's set was amazing as per usual. I know most people were having a hard time figuring out who Carinda was but I could tell that pretty easily, but I still don't know which one Jason is. That row seemed really packed in there like sardines, I'm wondering if the glasses lady was just uncomfortable. I couldn't even tell if she had her own seat she seems to be straddling the two people on either side of her.
To be able to come on to a show and have a whole bit planned and then ditch that bit and interact with an audience member for 5 minutes the way he does, that's just absolutely brilliant. What an amazing comedian and inspirational one too. From where he started to where he is now. 👏

At first I thought Carinda was NOT having it...then I realized she was in the check shirt and NOT the lady with glasses.
Same, I realized who she actually was when she introduced her husband XD
Lol same, I was like “Yo who put a snake in Carinda’s boot cause she is not amused.“
I thought the same thing.
I thought the same thing! What's the chick in the glasses so pissy about?
Same, and glasses chick looked triggered or like she just went to the show to appease the fellow next to her.

The fact that he pulled out “what’s your last name, garage?” so casually is insane. That was fast bro, damn
Then he says "you're like a panda" to counteract his wit lol
