So the solution is... you just keep replacing the burrs until you find an aligned pair? What about those of us who don't have new sets laying around? Sorry, but I was hoping to actually see what your shimming technique would be like, so I could use that as a reference to align the set that came in my grinder.
To be honest I thought I found a "perfect" grinder that was having issue grinding fine and could be used to demo shimming tricks. When I opened up the top burr carrier and saw the marks I was shocked. If alignment is off usually there were some areas of marks were wiped off. In this case I saw none. That made me thinking the burrs were in defect or bent somehow. Most likely general folks won't encounter the similar issue. Burrs are simpler parts and can be made in high precision. After I swapped the burrs the alignment came back perfectly. Hmm it wasn't my intention. But I cannot fake bad alignment with a good grinder. The alignment issue is caused by that the angle between the shaft "rotating part" and top burr carrier "fixed" is not perfectly vertical. Let me wait until I will find another return unit having this exact issue. I promise I will make a video showing some shimming tricks.

Can I ask, if I love espresso coffee at home, which grinder should I choice, df64 or df64p?
For espresso only I would recommend DF64P.
