I love your painting tutorials, And I love to watch you paint, you paint so elegantly! You're wonderful teacher.
Thank you ☺️
This is the best tree tutorial I have seen. Thank you so much Marion 🤗
Thank you so much ☺️
The underpainting method really makes the tree appear fuller.
i think so too. It also simplifies the painting process - it may take longer but it is easier (in my opinion)
I just discovered your channel, and I just have to say you are very good at what you do, and you teach with all the details and I like that, thank you for your teachings.
Thank you that’s very encouraging.
An actual eraser on oil canvas? never heard of this. very nice.
It’s very effective ☺️
I loved this. I tried a tree in my dog painting. It turned out really good, but then when I went to add the snow, I clumped on too much and then I tried to fix it and it turned to mud. I ended up wiping the whole tree out and then put in birch trees instead. Watching this tutorial makes me feel like trying the pine tree again. My granddaughter asked me, "What happened to your pine tree, Nauna? I really liked it" I told her that I ruined it. So maybe I should try it again. Thank you for these short tutorials. They are so helpful!!!! I like watching you mix the colors on the palette. SO HELPFUL!!!!!
You absolutely should try again. I can’t even begin to tell you how many trees I’ve done before I stopped messing up lol 😂 (and I still do mess up). Put it down to learning and start all over again. Enjoy the process. 🥰
Love your video. Thank you !

Best tree tutorial I have seen! Thanks
Thank you ☺️
Your painting is lovely
Thank you ☺️
Having often used the Wet on Wet then using the underpainting, I have found the underpainting to be very good, it helps me to be disciplned in the amount of paint i use and i avoid turning everything into a muddy mess :) and end up wasting alot of paint by having to scrape it off.
Thank you Tom. I totally agree underpainting can keep you organised through the whole process plus there’s a lot of depth too. Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
The best
Thank you ☺️
Thankyou so much, very helpful lm going to do it for my practice pages. Sky of green tree is just stunning. Loved your under painting technique it's wonderful to see how u developed the painting.💯

Beautiful😃keep it up friend✌️😃..
Thank you ☺️
Another excellent tutorial! Thank you so much. The last landscape I did was alla prima and I had some difficulty with my trees. I thought, “Dale, you know this would definitely look better and even be easier if you had underpainted it.” 🤣. I just love your technique!
Thank you Dale 🥰
I would like to know which oil u use to coat the painting?
I use zest it clear medium but you could use walnut or linseed oil.
Your teaching abilities are amazing. I am learning so much from you.
I do have a question-I have tried looking up “erasers” on your website as you mentioned “erasing” parts of the underpainting, but can not figure out the actual tool/eraser you used for that technique. Could you please enlighten us?
Thank you ☺️
I love your démonstration. Real pleasure to see you ❤❤❤what sort of paint ( mark colors ) you use?.
Thanks 👍👍👍
Georgian oils are good but I also use gamblin and Micheal Harding from time to time too (tho very pricey)
Thanks,🎖️🎄🎖️🇦🇨
You are welcome 🤗
what do you use to sign your paintings with ? looks great whatever your using.
I use a liner brush and the paint is thinned with medium. I typically choose a colour from the palette to keep harmony in the painting
@@MazArtStudio thx again !
Its interesting but to clean the brush maintaining do explain in detail
😻😻😻😻
Nice video. I want to know that some artist do not use black color, because it dull the painted. But if we see old master paintings, they used black color. Their paintings colors are fresh.
I use black sometimes ☺️ it all depends on what I’m painting
i take it the underpainting is done in acrylics? its been a few years since ive done wet on wet.
I did this is oils but it can be done in acrylic.
New subscriber and i'm also artist and youtube like you

👍👍🇧🇷🌲⭐
Thank you ☺️
Is the reason you don’t have to be so careful about painting over the tree with the blue, is because of the thin coat of colourless oil you covered the dry base coat with?
Yes. I can wipe back if I need to. But I also want to make sure the sky looks like it’s behind the tree.
Can you paint a tree using a slower motion, I have tried and tried and still cant paint a nice tree. I am thinking that maybe this is not for me. You painted such a beautiful tree but it was so fast and hard to follow along. Please help! I am only a beginner.
Can you try watching at slower speeds? TH-cam allows you to do This with the gear icon I think 🤔
