    That hot dog cooker will only work with the hotdogs in it. It runs a current through them to cook them. I sold one a while back.

    If you're playing a full auction you gotta keep refreshing the page. They soft close and it doesn't show those time reset bids on the main screen. We always do it on two computers to make sure. Your gripe is my gripe.

    Congrats on that Presto hot dog electrifier. That was my first ever full flip on ebay.

      (To test it run a wire from one side to the other. It works through electrifying the meat, not just heating it up.)

    Put everything you want to bid on in watch list! It condenses them to just what you want

      I generally do that but I occasionally stray away from my list and most recently, I scored some HUGE deals that nobody else bid on and that I somehow first missed when looking through the catalog and compiling my watchlist. I agree with David about HiBid, the way it's setup is a mess. Even when bidding from my PC, I have at least 3 windows open to HiBid.

    Occasionally (very occasionally) if you bid on an estate auction if you show up towards the end they'll have a bunch of "junk" that they didn't/couldn't put in the auction. I've picked up so much old liquor and good resellable stuff they didn't think was valuable.

    You can enter what you want for your maximum bid and it will bid for you . Saves the hassle of trying to watch several items at the same time

  • @bax525
    @bax525 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Need to max bid earlier. Sometimes you will discourage the $2.bids after they try 3 times and keep getting outbid. You give them hope by racing at the end

    • @pizzarat3275
      @pizzarat3275 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always try to bid right before the soft close extension kicks in. Like if the lot closes at 5 PM and the soft close is 5 minutes I'll place my first bid as close to 4:55 as possible. The only exception is if I can't be on at the time like it ends super early or late.
      There are tons of other resellers at the auctions around here. Why risk bringing attention to a lot you're interested in? If it has no bids they might overlook it, and if it does have bids sometimes the other bidders won't be around to keep upping their bid. It's about as close as you can get to eBay style sniping.

      FYI; HiBid allows auctioneers to see your maximum bids and the auctioneers can/will shill you. I got effed out of an extra $250 a few months ago...I was more mad at myself because I knew that it was set up that way (I owned an auction business and used HiBid) and that the auctioneer might do it, yet I did it anyway.

    If I'm watching the Bidding end I just go to my watched items for my local auction. Then when they're ending its much easier to keep up with the Bidding.

    I hope you see my hotdogger comments before you list it.
    And you got me with "HiBid".
    I'm near Owensboro and usually the closest anything on there is Evansville which I'm okay with, but recently like for months it doesn't show anything even if I change it to 100 mile search. I don't normally go to Louisville, but I do know one person there who might do lunch & maybe one store with me. It's about a two-hour drive. Nashville or Indy bins I haven't had the pleasure yet either, so HiBid is WANK! Evansville is a metropolis, no?

    There's a lot of good and bad with the HiBid system - it's mostly good even if the prices tend to go a bit too high for the auctions in my area. I, like you, only pickup locally. The one thing to be aware of is that the commission percentage you pay can vary per these are connected to separate companies. Great vid.

    Hot Dogg!! I grew up with one of those hot doggers and I found one new(?) in the box way before I started reselling and now I'm hoping I find another because we love that thing but I guess we'll just recondition this one when it breaks.

    • @CC-ed7od
      @CC-ed7od ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't get hot until you "plug" in a hot dog.

      It's good if it doesn't look corroded on the metal parts look in the plastic connector pieces on the lid and make sure they're not rusted but mine are and it still works.

      It's a hotdog electrocutor and it doesn't heat up until there's something running between both prongs

      I had an auction house in Ohio ship me a couple lots of antique tools, shouldn't have been any more than $50-$60 maximum...they charged me almost $100. Then there was literally two sheets of newspaper as padding in the box, along with too antique tool sets in their original wooden cases and a couple other smaller items...the tool cases were smashed to bits. Never again. Idiots.

    Why I always do my research, take in the auction fees and eBay fees in account and set my max bid.

    I just found out about these auctions and am interested but can't seem to find Terms & Conditions. I have no idea how shipping works and what postage will be before I bid. A video for the beginner would be very helpfull.

    I try not to watch the closing of the hibid auctions anymore. I create a watch list and then day of close, if items still haven't gone over what I would be willing to pay, put in my absolute max bid and get on with my day. I don't quite understand why people do the $1 at a time 15 times when max bid is an option.

      B/c the auction houses or their shill bidder accounts can bid against you , it is totally allowed in their terms of service and some do (not all) . So, if you bid big bucks on day 1 ,they will max you out by bidding against you, they can see everything. Not all do it, but its something to aware of

  • @Fucknuts4u

    I commented in response to somebody elses comment but wanted to mention it here since you brought up placing a maximum bid in advance...HiBid shows auction business owners what your maximum bid is and you better believe that owner's do shill you up! I got hit hard a few months back to the tune of an extra $250 and it wasn't difficult to see that the auctioneer did it!

    I’ve lost things on HiBid for the same reason. It’ll have seconds left on multiple items I want. I’ll try to bid and it will tell me auction closed.. ugh
    I’ve also bid on things at the last
    minute and made some
    bad buys getting caught up. Not sure what’s worse?! lol

    What you wanna do is snipe a item to get it at the lowest price at the last second ! I just don't like you people for some reason at suctions When it comes to auctions, you just don't seem genuine and honest. Snipers 👎
