First time I have heard this hymn (which is not in the canonical books) but it is singing about the Prayer of the Heart i.e." Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner`". If you repeat and concentrate on this Jesus Prayer (as it is called) it is like a meditation.
