Yup I soundly agree with your conclusions. I made the mistake of going with a 5052 plate for an o-ring tkl I designed which is half brass by weight and the sound is quite muted and softened, though I feel it did make my switches sound a bit chalkier which I did like. I think in my situation because there’s so much brass it’s significantly quieter but results probably vary for other boards. I’m definitely going to have a 6061 or 6063 plate made.
GHv4 MX blacks def have a different sound, more muted would be a good assumption because it is thicker. Velvet and marshmellohs have sound tests with GHv4 blacks, so you can take a listen and see how you like the sound!
Damn yea the stock plate is better, but the people in kalam's discord said that the stock plate is garbage and u shoulf changw to 5052, guess i wont be spending 65$ for an extra plate

You have experience with ghv4? Was worried it might be a bit too thick causing Mx blacks to be too muted but I never use so idk
