Great job on this tag! I’m completely sold on Age of Madness now that I know Glokta is in it. He’s my favorite character from First Law. Derfel is such a great character.
Great answers, Laura. 1. Torn between Robin Hobb's Fool's Errand and Guy Gavriel Kay's A Brightness Long Ago. 2. Fool's Fate, 3rd book of Robin Hobb's Tawny Man trilogy. 3. Sebastien De Castell's Play of Shadows 4. Eagerly awaiting the 3rd Kithamar book of Daniel Abraham's latest trilogy. And Steven Erikson's No Life Foresaken. 5. Michael Crichton's Grave Descend i guess? Hopes weren't high. Ryan Cahill's Of Darkness & Light was a DNF so i guess that counts. Couldn't have given a shit about those characters if I tried tbh. 6. Shutter Island / Dennis Lehane 7. Dennis Lehane 8. I don't have any. 9. Paragon from Liveship Traders. And The Fool. Really liked him in Farseer, loved him in Tawny Man. Apparently he was a major inspiration for Wit in Stormlight Archive. 10. A shed a few tears during the Tawny Man trilogy. 11. Guy Gavriel Kay's Children of Earth & Sky 13. I lowkey hate this question, i just wanna read wtf I want 😅. Finish Realm of the Elderlings and Dandelion Dynasty i guess but I'm not putting any pressure on myself.
The contrast between you now and last year is just WILD hahaha, the character development is top tier ;))) Also, I am super glad The Crimson Court piqued your interest, I think you'd enjoy it! And dammit, I need to meet Nyktos already!!!
Awesome mid year tag, and I’m so happy Warlord has worked for you so well-Enemy of God is one of my favs of all time 💪 Morning Star (what scene were you talking about?) and Wisdom of Crowds are also awesome, and seems like I’m gonna have to check out Henry when I’m in a romance mood!
The scene with Cassius and Darrow looking at the footage. 10/10 scene. Incredible. Warlord is amazing. I was so sad when I finished. Emily Henry is great! I'll be curious what you think.
@@laurablakeauthor I do, they're nice to watch! I subbed during the Abercrombie ones and I've been watching them since - I just don't always bother to comment, lol.
I got the warlord chronicles after listening to your none spoiler comments, can’t wait to read them. I am planning on splitting up reading them with the final 2 books of the Jade trilogy and Augustus. Keep on with the great reviews/videos and well done on the success so far.
1. BEST BOOK YOU'VE READ IN 2024 The Hidden Queen - Peter V Brett. He's a favourite author and it's a world I'm very invested in. The characters were fleshed out even further in this outing and the plot had me hooked all the way through 2. BEST SEQUEL OF 2024 SO FAR? Same as Q1. I've not read a lot of sequels yet this year 3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO? I have two and they're both autobiographies. Down with the System by Serj Tankian and The Man: Not your average girl by Becky Lynch I'm a huge System of a Down and WWE fan so these two are high on my to read list 4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF THE SECOND HALF OF 2024 Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne. As good as Faithful and the Fallen was the Bloodsworn Saga is even better and I'm so excited to see how he wraps up the trilogy. 5. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT? Sunbringer by Hannah Kaner. I loved Godkiller so to be so down about book 2 hurt. It meandered along with no purpose and just felt like it was moving characters into position for the third book without having a plot of its own. 6. BIGGEST SURPRISE. My Lovely Wife - Samantha Downing. I picked it up on a whim and flew through it in a matter of days. So clever and a well crafted thriller 7. FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU)? James Logan - I'm very much looking forward to his second novel to see where he takes the story. 9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER(S)? Princess Donut - Dungeon Crawler Carl. If you know then you know 10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY None yet but given his track record I won't be surprised if John Gwynne destroys me emotionally 11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY A Hat full of Sky - Terry Pratchett. It's a re-read but the Tiffany Aching novels from Discworld fill me with so much joy. Insightful, funny and pure happiness wrapped up in a book 12. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU BOUGHT/RECEIVED THIS YEAR The Silverblood Promise by James Logan. Simply stunning. 13. WHAT BOOK DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR The Wheel of Osheim - Mark Lawrence. I'm really not a fan of Jalen so I need to finally finish the trilogy this year and decide whether I'm going to keep the books or just donate them.

Looking forward to our chat! I have never really been interested in King Arthur but you are really selling the War Lord Cornicles hard
Ohh it’s so good!
Glad you’re finding books you love so much! I’ve been reading enough to give some diverse answers for this tag lol

Interesting answers. Malazan and Hobb are good places to be for the second half of the year. The vlogs are pretty fun!
