  • In this Geoguessr video, I'll be play an Unexplored World, a map that only includes those countries which currently do not have google street view coverage. This is always a fun challenge, as a I can't use any of the google meta that I usually make use of. Enjoy!

It changed back to Astana (the old name) from Nur-Sultan in September. It holds the Guinness World Record for the city with the most name changes.

Tip for the Mozambique round: one of the street signs said "Avenida 24 de julho." That spelling - julho - is Portuguese. In Spanish, it would be "julio."

This is by far one of my favourite maps, no meta guessing, just purely feel guessing and architecture and stuff. It's refreshing to have something else besides pure meta guessing.

Hey Zig, Astana was renamed Nur-Sultan in honour of the previous dictator, Nursultan Nazarbayev, however scandals have been erupting recently and they changed the name back to Astana (just two months ago).

On 3:40, an old french taxi car with a yellow plate should always mean Iran. They also use the French style waffle poles, and combined with the cold climate Iran is actually very easy to recognize.

Got lucky on the Mozambique round only because I know July is 'Julio' in Spanish and 'Julho' in Portuguese (24 de Julho was on the road sign) so nowhere in South America or Caribbean fit. Didn't feel like Luanda so I gambled on Maputo. Currency being MT could have made sense for Mozambique too

On the first seed I got 12,742 points. I guessed Myanmar on the Vietnam, I got Kazakhstan but went more north than it was, on the Georgia one i got 4,999 points due to the fact that I've been to Telavi and I immeadiately got it (glad to see you got it correct with Georgia). And for the las two I guessed Lebanon on Iran and Morocco on Burkina Faso.
For the second seed I got 9,753 points. Obviously the first round was skipped, on the second one I somehow guessed in the right region of Paraguay (as it was obvious what country it was) and I got 4,700 points, which I was really impressed by. For the St Vincent, I was about to guess in the caribbean when I changed my mind and went with Reunion because I wasn't sure if it was on this map (which I don't think it is), so that wasn't great. Then I guessed Nicaragua thinking that it was spanish I was seeing, and I was shocked to see Mozambique. And for the final one I knew straight away it was Georgia, but I had never been there. I saw the restaurant called Ushba and knew that we'd be in Mestia, a toursity town by Mt Ushba. I guessed where the name marker was, and I got 4,800 points.
For the third seed I got 14,153 points. I started off guessing Cyprus as I thought it looked a lot like southern Italy and I had no other option. Then I guessed Baghdad on Alexandria, which I followed up on by guessing north Paraguay when it was southern, then I saw the Vietnamese script and I saw Hanoi so I immeadiately guessed Hanoi but it was a smalled city. Then for the final round I immeadiately knew it would be a former soviet state, and I thought it would most likely be Kazakhstan, so I went in between Astana and the Russain border, and while it was Kazakhstan, it was the complete opposite part of Kazakhstan, and I only got 800 points.
Also they renamed Kazakhstans capital to Nur-Sultan after their dicatator but then when the dictator died it was changed back.

Persia and France apparently have had close relations dating as far as the 17th century, so even though it's not as distinctly obvious as Francophone Africa, you'll find **some** subtle French influences in Iran. Don't know if French cars count as the same, though.
