Was really struggling to tell apart Egypt from its nearby neighbours. That tip is really going to take my game to the next level, thanks!
I read that comment before watching the video and was expecting a very good tip and this killed me so hard lmao
That Scotland coverage looks exactly like the kind of place you would see GeoWizard strolling through on a straight line mission. :D
As a Belgian, I find it very amusing that the tip is "looks a bit like Netherlands or Luxemburg but with worse road quality". This is absolutely true and a common thing to joke about here.
We dutchies joke about it all the time. Sorry neighbour❤😂😂
We’re the speed bump between The Netherlands and France
@@duivvv hahaha🤣
I think it would be great to see a Country A vs Country B type breakdown. Like UK/Ireland, Czechia/Slovakia, US/Canada or Russia/Ukraine where you breakdown how to differentiate between the two countries.
Bhutan Tip:
Q: Why does this area of Colombia look weird? A: It's Bhutan.
Some more tips for Hungary:
- The letters Ő and Ű are unique to the Hungarian language, and their non-double versions, Ö and Ü only occur in countries that you wouldn't confuse with Hungary.
- Some Hungarian beer brands you might see on pub sings or parasols: Soproni, Arany Ászok, Borsodi.
- If you see street names and stuff written in both Hungarian and German, you're likely in Sopron.
- The color of the text on street signs in Kecskemét is a very specific shade of blue. That is the only instance of non-black street sign text I've seen in Hungary.
- In the capital, Budapest, the district number and the full name of the part of town is always written on the top row of street sings. Some other major cities (like the aforementioned Kecskemét) may also have verbose street sings, but those look different.
- Hungary doesn't use that town silhouette pictogram sign on town/village borders that you see in many of the neighboring countries.
- If the place looks post-soviet and depressing as hell, but you can't see any cyrillic, then you're most likely in Hungary. It's the winter coverage mixed with the rampant alcoholism and poverty.
you forgot the Eastern part of Hungary is flat usually difficult to guess correctly exactly the area you are in since their is no striking differences between settlements and villages apart from maybe alongside Tisza river even then guessing along the river can be confusing where to pin Nyiregyhaza and Debrecen if they are lucky but the average person does not know Újfehértó ( it is in between the cities above) and Baktalórántháza which is further East.
Western Hungary is hilly particularly in the regions of Veszprém county ( vármegye) with Bakony hills that dominant throughout that region and above them is Győr-Moson-Sopron these two regions are the hilliest.
most people just guess Budapest lol ( I seen myself on geoguesser I knew exactly the location 1 yard away pin)
Would love a video on the architectural differences in each country
This
Congrats on performance at the World Cup, Zigzag! Looked like all of you participants had a great time, too.
It would be great if you could make a video about all car meta in islands like northern marians islands, guam etc. or even around the world
These tips are great! I would love to see a video about distinguising similar countries! For example; Russia and Ukraine - Norway, Sweden, and Finland (even Estonia) - Malaysia and Indonesia - The Baltics - Serbia and north macedonia -peru and bolivia - or other common 50/50s.
Fantastic Video man and well done in the World Cup. T12 is an amazing effort I hope you feel very proud of yourself
Other easy french architecture tips :
- if you see white houses with black roofs and two chimneys on both sides of the houses, you are in Bretagne (nord west of France)
- if you see red brick houses you are in the north of France in a range of 70km from belgian border
Summary:
Thailand: stick on poles
Sri Lanka: large insulators
Bangladesh: rice
South-west India: flat crossarms
Turkey: white car with antenna
Bulgaria: red car with antenna
Ukraine: pink-ish asphalt on road
North mac: sunny
Albania: black backside of sign (and romania)
montenegro: red crest on license plates
Slovenia: ljbubljana has green numbers
Praha: has red numbers
Slovakia: red crest number plates
lithuania/baltics: bent signs
poland/baltics: white brick
latvia: large dirt roads
estonia: small dirt roads
Finland: snow=south
Switzerland: metal on side of signs
Sardiinia: cacti on sides
northwest spain: looks like GB
portugal: south = special chimeny
no fkin shot, i just had a moment of a realisation and celabration that you said Reykjavík correct. I have never ever in my life heard some non native say it correct before, some people somehow manage to say it Reykjawhich which is kinda weird
Within America, the paler colored roads can also be found on the extreme east coast. By extreme I mean cape cod, outer banks, jersey shore, etc. I’ve always wondered if the salt water had something to do with it
thank the man above for your Burkina Faso tip, I've rlly been struggling with that country. Thanks zi8gzag!
Thanks zigzag! practicing alot rn and your videos help
10:21 Innsbruck also has flag stickers on their poles, but contrary to Vienna there's usually only one sticker on each pole
Well done in the world cup! It was awesome watching you there. PLEASE make more videos like this in the future.
Thank you always for tips! And great job at worlds! You really know how to work the camera 😀
I've been playing Geoguessr a lot latelly, and your videos are helping a lot (I'm watching your videos from the second channel a lot too). Being from Brazil, i get the the countrys from America quite easily (except for some very rural Mex, Arg or Chile AND i'm doing better region guesses around Brazil too, i'm from Santa Catarina and only now realized how much Parana Pines we have around here!). My struggle is always to differentiate Norway vs Sweeden vs Finland and India vs Bangladesh.
I'm very good with flags, so scandinavia is not so bad because you can see some tiny flags on poles at private properties some times but when i don't find this or the long yellow lines from norway i know i'm in trouble xD
Ps.: I suck at ZA, Lesotho and eSwat but not as much as those above.
Ps.2: Geoguessr is fun!
My problem is knowing if I'm in one of the Baltics or not. I'm either in like Ukraine or Sweden. If you could please cover that, I would be most grateful.
Very useful video Oscar. I didn't know all these tips do thank you for sharing them you legend.
egypt caught me off guard 😭anyway another great video, thanks so much! this is so helpful!
I'd definitely love some more unique tips for countries that usually get the same tips all the time. But maybe I'm biased because other than my natural instincts I really want to get good at region guessing here in Colombia.
Your sask tip with the stop signs and the triangle got me a win in duels cause I insta sent and he didn’t know where to go
Can you do a video where you comment on the world cup matches? Or even better, invite the other players to give their thoughts!
Very helpful tips!
lets GO another tips video
In Galicia and northern Portugal you occasionally get houses with grey long horizontal bricks with white gaps (e.g. Tv. das Campas 30, Lagares).
12:15 those are typical of the Basque country (the one in the hamlet of Uitzi is remarkable !) although the elongated shape of this one is more typical of the maisons landaises (the forested department just north) that have a near-horizontal roof, with one side longer than the other
I don’t know if it is a coincidence or not, but I wrote a comment about that exact french tip in one of your video 1 week ago 🤣
nice videos, BUT...
what about Bermuda, US Virgin Islands, Curacao, Martinique Trekker, Réunion, Christmas and Cocos Island, Vanuatu (Ambrym Volcanoes) and my beloved American Samoa?
Would make for a good part 2.5 :)
Since Pakistan is a Muslim majority country, it is no surprise that they have that attire. Here in Southern Philippines(Mindanao), specifically the left side of it (from Kabacan to Tawi Tawi), that attire is common for men to use when it is prayer time.
This is also why when you happened to be in a place in Phil. with names containing "Bai", "Hadja or Hadji", "Sittie", "Mohammad", or even "Datu" whether it be store name or on tarps, it is most likely that you are on the left side of Mindanao.
Or if you see Arabic language or mosques, you are probably on the left side (Kabacan to Tawi Tawi) of Mindanao.
Ps. Congratulations on the World Cup 2023! Ggs, Zigzag.
That feels so cool hearing tips for the place where i live and where I'm watching this video rn, Hi from Russia, Omsk Oblast :) P.S. Completly didn't expected to hear something abt my region
I'll be thinking of your tip next time I'm playing geoguessr ❤
tip for distinguishing bangladesh from india if its not gen 3 : bangladesh generally has green water and india has brown water , so if u see a river thats green, go bangladesh
What would you recommend to learn first in Geoguessr, such as bollards, poles, and etc?
Egypt earned you a like
Czechia is also only country in the whole world that uses a letter "Ř". So whenever you see this letter, it should be a no brainer after that :)
Regarding kyrgyzstan, if you see the black dot, does that also mean that you wont be south?
And also is there any tips that can help me distinguish peru from bolivia better, especially if there arent any signs nearby?
Bolivia uses a lot of red bricks in their houses & also doesn't have gen 4 coverage.
bolivia never has the black google car either
oh thank you so much, even tho i would consider myself pretty good, i can never properly tell apart bolivia from peru@@zi8gzag
A breakdown of France, please!!?
That cambodian palm is also the national tree of cambodia 🇰🇭
Did you do Cyprus?
big bag forgot Vanuatu 😢
I don't understand the Egypt thing. Is that location the only google street view in egypt??
Yo.... need a video on mew zealand region guessing aye😅?!
Why is there a Polish pole in Belgium
9:45 Me not seeing any red at all (colour blind)
Still no Vanuatu tip Sadge
Tips for each US state could be fun and useful.
I've won a game based off the Pakistan pants meta... it's the best 😂
Don’t send okinawa or south just bcz of palms btw
How to tell apart bengali and hindi?
Please PLEASE do a video on how to identify what generation of camera it is.
You forgot the Faraoe Islands
Bro ur eyes aren't that blue why even do that lol anyways great video
oi zig8zag
Repeating my comment from your last vid: Well done in the tournament zi8gzag. You got done dirty by the stupid multipliers increasing each round rule. It wasn't that bad a guess and only about 1000 points damage, but because of the 3x multiplier it took you out entirely. The top Geoguessr players need to start pointing out that it makes no sense for later rounds in games to be worth so much more than earlier rounds - you can have 3 great guesses in a row, yet it result in you getting less points than your opponent who makes only 1 great guess later on. Each game should just be a limit of 10 rounds, with each round worth the same. If you want to keep the ability for early knock-outs then just reduce the XP to 4000 instead (while keeping all rounds worth the same). Geoguessr is exciting enough to watch as it is, without such unfair and gimmicky rules chucked on top. I hope future tournaments can better reflect the relative skills of the players taking part.
it could have just as easily favoured me! still you’re right, i hope it gets revised a bit next year
bro using the same picture in each thumbnail lol
u forgot swiss ?
I just guessed Pakistan correctly because of the big pants 😂
🐐🐐🐐
Mate as a pole i can tell you I've never fucking seen a white brick house
k
Impossible. They are in almost every village
@@drunkenstein-tp1pd come over im free tomorrow 4-8pm
Bruh the photoshop on your face in the thumbnail is weirdd hahahah
I'd love a video breaking down all of eastern Europe. As a low champion level player in duels, I find myself struggling to tell them all apart, especially when its a rural round.
might do that
