I’ve had a similar experience. Wasn’t in this ride, but I could have potentially died at king dominion. When you are small enough, that can commonly happen, but it makes it more of a thrill!
Aliencanvas 6661 part of that might be that watching it on your phone is not the true experience. For one, the lights are on in this video due to a Christmas theme. And, the main purpose of a roller coaster is the rush of the ride. In real life, with the lights off, this ride is mildly terrifying for most people.
I adore this ride. I love the kitschy-ness of the animatronics, the indoor waterfall, the bridge effects, and the three drops. So much fun! And there's almost never a long line for it.
We had a seasons pass in 1981 and my son and I rode it 3 -5 times when ever we went. (we lived in Knoxville). I loved it. The what-ever-it-was at the Worlds Fair scared the crap out of me (my 7 year old LOVED it). This ride I could handle (after the first time). Silver Dollar City was great. - how much has it changed?
Yeah, it looks like a tame dark ride initially, then it gets dark and it drops but it looks like short drops then it slows down again. It doesn’t really have intense speed throughout like a normal coaster, it’s more of a dark ride/coaster hybrid like a mine ride that was in Wildwood, NJ now it was rebuilt as Black Diamond at Knoebel’s in PA.
I remember riding this thing when I was 10, right before we got to the bridge drop I said "I can't believe they call this a roller coaster". Pretty sure I jinxed myself there lol
@@emily.1762 I went to Dollywood for my first time yesterday and my first ride was the lightning rod but all the walking made my feet hurt so bad and my back

I rode this a few months ago, the animatronic people have decayed so much they look like monsters out of my nightmares. This ride is more creepy than anything.
It's a silly ride, but it's my favorite. Rode it about 30 times. First time was close to 40 years ago. Can't believe it's still going. Looks a bit different than I remember. It's been a long time
After going to Silver Dollar City and doing Marvel Cave and Fire in the Hole I really need to get back on Blazing Fury because now I know all the history around it

I feel like this is the quality Fire In The Hole at Silver Dollar City had when it was originally built. I love FITH but over the years so so much as been removed, not fixed, etc.
The first time I rode this ride, I was sitting in the seat with my brother's friends dad. Him, being quite wiser than me( I was about 11 or 12) I had to hold on to him because the single bar was way too big. Good times.

I remember having a really wierd experience on this ride once. My sister can stand and walk but not for long distances, as such she needs a scooter to get around parks and passes that let us skip lines. It was just me, my sister, and her boyfriend on a train that could fit like 15 people...and there was a fully loaded line, too...
I love this ride! It was my first roller coaster (my first ride was last week). The drops make your heart feel like it's in your chest but 8 completely forgot about those good awful animatronics.......

I love Blazing Fury. My older sister was so scared so I was prepared for something crazy. It wasn’t intense at all. I actually loved it because it was so cheesy. I loved the Flooded Mine and wish they still had it.
I remember when it used to be like a water ride and it will go faster but due to the local snakes in the area especially cottonmouth they will get in the water and end up stopping the ride because they will get caught underneath the wheels

I can smell my early childhood from the first walk down the ramp to the loading dock, but especially once the train reached the burning bridge scene.
