- Following complaints about the Mercane Widewheel 2020 throttle, specifically it's jerkiness, we developed our own upgraded throttle. Here is a first look at how it compares to the original throttle. The big differences will focus on the range of motion and control which riders are able to exercise over the scooter, even at low speeds.

Looks Awesome
The original looks more ergonomic. More aligned to the natural movement of the thumb, and you only need to engage the upper joint of your finger to use it. The new one it seems you have to stretch out your entire thumb which looks tiresome.

If you'd ever used the original, you'd know why an upgrade is necessary.
Just received my WWPro and upgraded throttle from you guys, thank you! Quick ?: the upgraded throttle seems to be in a awkward angle for me, but I can't rotate it any further "upward" because the clamping bolt for the brake lever is a little long, sticking out ~1/4" or so; have you guys found this to be the case?
Could you show us how to add a second inline battery to this scooter for extra miles??? There's a few getting around for other brands but not this one....
It looks like the upgraded throttle is already SOLD OUT . How can I order one ?
I think I got faulty speed controllers because it's still sketchy even with the upgraded throttle.
Just received my scooter and it is amazing. It def has some pick up and move and i can attest that the throttle is lets say sensitive. I'm not to impressed that it has a noticeable dent on the side of it from UPS's jack assery i think but not sure. I just hope it didn't do any internal damage as it was clearly hit really hard. I'm noticing a delay in gas when i let off and then hit it again right away, i hope t his is "normal" and not a result of the damage that it sustained.
Hey Jeremy - thanks for you comment and sorry to hear about this damage. Can you send us a photo to support@apolloscooters.co, we'll check to make sure all looks good. To test the gas dealay, deactivate your Mercane's kick and go function (hold the left brake, push both buttons, on PO, click "M" and go on "-1". Now hold both buttons to fix it in, and you'll see the responsiveness of your throttle to see if its better. Let me know if that works? Thanks!
With the top of you fingers on the handlebar grip, the thumb reach appears too big to keep control of steering.
Can you guys do a tutorial on how to install LEDs on the wwp... I have the box with the led strips but having problems where to put it...lol
Try watching “WideWheel pimp my ride” he has where the leds go.
By the time i have activated cruise control i am at like 25mph it is annoying. It would be all cool if every street was paved flat like a velodrome. Does this help?

so if I order a widewheel pro 2020 version it comes with the updated throttle and has a key shut off?
No and no. The throttle is a separate upgrade and the key shut off is an additional cost at time of purchase.

Is it also ‘plug and play’ for the 2019 model? The original is pretty bad - nothing for the first half of throttle travel - then wham! It’s ridiculous.

The new one looks like it's easily broken off, the snappability is very high.

A scooter with this price should be sold with a good throttle and not with such crap.
I completely agree. I'm a little disappointed i wasn't made aware of this before my purchase last week....
This has nothing to do with the distributor , this is issue on manufacturing side from Mercane , at least the dealer is trying to address the issue
@@davidvosk8146 Sorry if i came off negative as it was not my intention. I find the people at apollo very nice and helpful that's why i chose them to buy from. All i am saying is if a seller is aware of an issue with an item of this cost i think they purchaser should be at least made aware as it could be a danger issue if the throttle is a tad stiff, it could cause a sudden jerking motion throwing your from your scooter >
Just installed the “upgraded“ and I’m not impressed. It is awkward and due to that I don’t really see the enhancement. I really liked the index finger pull throttle on my Ecoreco M5. Thinking about trying to make a hybrid that is finger pull that pulls on the thumb throttle.
For a $10 item on AliExpress, you guys are charging $79, that is a little bit crazy.

Hi Demo - you can go ahead and try the $10 item on AliExpress and you'll see that the adapter is completely different (its not adapted for the Mercane, and won't fit the in the control box). The input cables and connector and custom made for the Mercane by us, hence why it's not $10 unfortunately.
@@ApolloScooters Custom made meaning connecting three wires to the connector that will fit the display board, I understand the work behind it but that still doesn't justify the price tag.
@@demo6592 Sorry Demo for the misunderstanding, you have to rewire the entire piece, and create the connector piece for the Mercane for this to be compatible. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion on the price ($69 by the way). Thanks for your comment :-)
So don’t buy it man , it’s $69 bucks , at least apollo is trying to assist is some way and remedy what Mercane messed up , they are fixing a manufacturer issue , ppl don’t have to buy it , it’s a add on , for more comfort , I honestly don’t think apollo makes $ on this , they just trying to assist the costumers who need a smoother ride , everything you buy on AliExpress is a crap shoot , buying from a legitimate company is worth the extra $
It is the same chinese crap with new connector. Nice looking low cost crap like many other cheap (in China) scooters. I regret that I bought it.
