i want to provide a cantilever beam over a distance of 33 feet in front of a 9.5 inches wall, the thickness of the cantilever will be 6 inches and the width is 1.5 feet. please note that the cantilever is part of a 33 by 11 feet slab. the slab is supported by 7 columns and 9 inch walls. i want to provide 4.5 inches wall with 12 feet high over the whole cantilever span, that is 33 feet. is it ok? what should i do to make the wall in such a way that there is no effect on the strength of cantilever or slab? what if i provide overhanging beams below the cantilever, will it be effective? the reason i am doing it is to increase the inside width of the room. any suggestion are strongly appreciated
I have seen in book a cantilever beam of Shear force is caculated in -ve as force, but you are calculating as +ve force .so, I'm confused.

Would a 12 inch cantilever have more load bearing capacity as compared to 9 inch cantilever if the area connected to the wall is the same in both cases. I am talking about wash basin brackets which are riveted to the wall.

Sir y did we took The BM as _ve though the loads were acting downwards since taking right side of the span means that downward forces should be positive as in that question loads were acting downwards but we took minus why is that..hoping for ur answer though it has been years..do comment

How to calculate bm at the mid span in case of udl loading and both ends are fixed??
Simply by using slope deflection method. There are other methods also for statically indeterminate structures but I think you should try this one first.
A cantilever beam of point 3.5m current point load 10kn and 15 on at free end and 15 from end respectively the beam also current the point load of 20kn at 1m from fixed end draw sfd and bmd

Sorry to interrupt that is called a cantilever beam. Fixed beam is a beam which is two end is fixed at the two end point.
A cantilever beam 6 meters length is subjected to a UDL of 4kN /m for 5 meters from the fixed end. it also carries a point load of 7kN at a distance of 3 metres from fixed end and another point load of 6kN at free end. draw S.F.D and B.M.D?

There is no fixed beam.... That is actually a cantilever beam > which fixed at one point and free at one point...but in fixed beam it is fixed or binded at both the ends..👍
