i want to provide a cantilever beam over a distance of 33 feet in front of a 9.5 inches wall, the thickness of the cantilever will be 6 inches and the width is 1.5 feet. please note that the cantilever is part of a 33 by 11 feet slab. the slab is supported by 7 columns and 9 inch walls. i want to provide 4.5 inches wall with 12 feet high over the whole cantilever span, that is 33 feet. is it ok? what should i do to make the wall in such a way that there is no effect on the strength of cantilever or slab? what if i provide overhanging beams below the cantilever, will it be effective? the reason i am doing it is to increase the inside width of the room. any suggestion are strongly appreciated
Hey , Bro. if i take the free end of the beam on left hand side and fixed beam on right hand side , then will SFD & BMD sign will change ?? PLEASE HELP , IAM CONFUSED.
Would a 12 inch cantilever have more load bearing capacity as compared to 9 inch cantilever if the area connected to the wall is the same in both cases. I am talking about wash basin brackets which are riveted to the wall.
I was trying to find a different questions related to the cantilever beam other than that question which you can find directly on Rk Bansal textbooks.. but nice work
Simply by using slope deflection method. There are other methods also for statically indeterminate structures but I think you should try this one first.
A cantilever beam of point 3.5m current point load 10kn and 15 on at free end and 15 from end respectively the beam also current the point load of 20kn at 1m from fixed end draw sfd and bmd
Sir y did we took The BM as _ve though the loads were acting downwards since taking right side of the span means that downward forces should be positive as in that question loads were acting downwards but we took minus why is that..hoping for ur answer though it has been years..do comment
Nice explanation...But am mechanical guy so wish I could get such stuffs for my branch topics though we have many reference videos, but I like ur way of explanation .
There is no fixed beam.... That is actually a cantilever beam > which fixed at one point and free at one point...but in fixed beam it is fixed or binded at both the ends..👍
Sir solve this for me......A cantilever of 4 m span and 400 mm depth carried a uniformly distributed load of 5kN / m . Find the value of the concentrated load w acting at the free end so that the maximum deflection does not exceed 10 mm anywhere in the cantilever. Also find the maximum slope due to both these loads. [E=200GN/m^ 2 ; I = 20000 * 10 ^ 4 * m * m ^ 4 .) 10
sir one more thing I want to know that as the Shear force at point A is high as compared to other points so as the Shear force is high on A so we have to provide more reinforcement in this area pls tell ?
A cantilever beam 6 meters length is subjected to a UDL of 4kN /m for 5 meters from the fixed end. it also carries a point load of 7kN at a distance of 3 metres from fixed end and another point load of 6kN at free end. draw S.F.D and B.M.D?
a cantilever beam of length 4 metre carrier point load of 1 kilonewton 2 and 3 kilonewton at 1,2 and 4 methyl from the fixed end draw the shear force and bending moment diagram of the cantilever? (Please give answere of this question)
A cantilever beam of length 5m carries two point load 3KN and 5KN at free end and 3m from free end .It also carries an U.D.L 2KN/m between two point load .Draw S.F and B.M . diagram sir solve please
Sir please tomorrow is my structure semester exam so please sir humko suru se samjha de SFD & BMD how to solve easy way step by step please sir............
Bhai tumne vo B.M. points kaise liye draw karne ke liye zaroori toh nhi vo traingle hi banee...ese toh har question mai traingle hi ban raha hai mera kaise measure kare...scale krna hai ya kaise plz batooo
Sir kuch nahi aata mujhe... Bahot kuch sikhna hai😓😓 main ek Lug pe cantilever force calculate karna chahta hu ki kab wo fail ho ga . But muje word nahi pata ki kaise search kare .... Mera Lug hai wo pipe pe weld hoga lug me ek hole hai jisme se ek stud niklega... Stud se force hit karega lug ko... Then.... I want to see ki kitni strength tak lug fail nahi hoga
Simply support bending moment is zero , fixed support bending moment is maximun , Bending moment and shear force is directly proportional , your shear diagram is super wrong.
Are sir... Can u tell me how to take value of bmd from left side also? In this example i m not getting same value from left and right side... So pls explain once using this example
Sir apne Jo Shear Force maloom kari hai. SF at B FB = 1300-500=800 yeh Ghalat hai. Yeh Aesa hoga na SF at B, FB =1300+300=1600N. Sir hamein sir ne Aesa samjhaya hai please Correct me
I need to clear my basics for gate your videos are so helpfull to me thank you bro👍👍👍
Great work... Mai confuse tha after seeing this video my doubt got clear... now am able to do the problem .. thnx
Thank you sir... For uploading Video.. 🙏🏻Jai Jagannth 🙏
What will be the SFD and BMD if Fixed support is on Right side of the beam?

Why your shear force diagram in upward direction??because in cantilever hogging take place.. It should be negative pls reply?
Sorry to interrupt that is called a cantilever beam. Fixed beam is a beam which is two end is fixed at the two end point.
thanx for explaining in detail about how hogging moment varies in the beam
Nice sir... You are get a perfect way to teach us.
Hey , Bro. if i take the free end of the beam on left hand side and fixed beam on right hand side , then will SFD & BMD sign will change ??
PLEASE HELP , IAM CONFUSED.
Sir your way to tech is very good
I have seen in book a cantilever beam of Shear force is caculated in -ve as force, but you are calculating as +ve force .so, I'm confused.
Would a 12 inch cantilever have more load bearing capacity as compared to 9 inch cantilever if the area connected to the wall is the same in both cases. I am talking about wash basin brackets which are riveted to the wall.
Time saving, and i like way of teaching

Thx ..bhi you way of teaching is very good ..I learned it soon ..thanks once again
Aap bhi video par aa jata hu to dout khatm ho jata h ❤❤❤❤❤
Sir BM of c why not negative? Please reply.
Excellent work, thanks
I also like your way of teaching and speed ,time saving
Sir , how sfd & bmd are suppose to be postive ??
It should be drawn downward.
How to calculate bm at the mid span in case of udl loading and both ends are fixed??
Simply by using slope deflection method. There are other methods also for statically indeterminate structures but I think you should try this one first.
A cantilever beam of point 3.5m current point load 10kn and 15 on at free end and 15 from end respectively the beam also current the point load of 20kn at 1m from fixed end draw sfd and bmd
U cleared my doubt,🙏🙏thx u such
For cantilever beam shear force to be calculated from right side, sir
Sir y did we took The BM as _ve though the loads were acting downwards since taking right side of the span means that downward forces should be positive as in that question loads were acting downwards but we took minus why is that..hoping for ur answer though it has been years..do comment
Can you Help me ? How can i design a column design which has to support a door Load of 7 Tons ?

Sir In RK bansals book of SOM,the reactions in case of fixed beam are not calculated actually they calculate directly SF and BM .... Plzz tell me why
amazing❤❤❤❤❤
Bending point d py zyada hga ?😶
..confused
Thanks a lot sir!!!
when taking from left side for C BM=1600*1.2-300*.7= 1710 why ?
plz sir rply fast i m little bit confused
Saurabh Sanju I also have the same doubt. If your doubt is cleared please explain it to me
Yes I am also getting this
How to cantilever beam s f and b m
It's very good explanation, but please don't add music..it's distracting...thank you for clearing my doubt
Hogging me SFD ki value (-) nhi aayegi ?? Aap ne (+) me hi diagram kyu banaya

Shear force kya hota
Simply support bending moment is zero , fixed support bending moment is maximun , Bending moment and shear force is directly proportional , your shear diagram is super wrong.
SFD d point se q ni bnana shurur kiya mean free end se
Thank you so much
First of all this is not a fixed beam.. This is a cantilever beam.. By the way well explained..
thankyou😃
Bending moment negative hi q aaya positive q nhi aya plz explain
The BMD of point A would be -2750 not -2350.Correct it.
Sir want same video for cantilever of some tough level
Sir jab koi force kisi angle me lagta h
Sir, write the value in minus, because of your video, all my marks got deducted in the exam.
Thanks 👍 sir
Sir Bending moment smjh nh I
Bending moment ka B point ka calculation bilkul samaj ma nahi aaya calculation part skip nahi kar na chahiye pura confusion hogaya😢😢
Thnx bhai 😘😘😘😘
Sir, state line kaise huya ye kaise pata chalega??
