Sir its useful video please try to make video gait analysis with pathological gait how to find which gait phase of cycle is mising in pathological gait
Glutes work concentrically during push off phase and hamstring work concentrically during the heel off to pre swing phase. Concentric contraction is only going to happen when the muscle works to move the joints against gravity 😊🙏 Thanks for watching Physioclassroom ❤️
Sir I am sitting 🪑 with 3 hours with gait and hard to figure it out the gait patterns and you made it very simple in just 10 minutes..! Feeling blessed by finding such a great physical therapist..! Thank you Just one question I am unable to understand knee movements (for ex when to say knee is against gravity or towards gravity..)
When the knee flexes in standing position ( eg. During stand to sit, during heel strike to foot flat etc), the movement is towards gravity and is needed to be controlled by eccentric quadriceps activity.
Hello sir When we are standing, LOG passes anterior to knee joint. From this position, when we do a little squat or a mini squat position, what will be the muscle contraction: eccentric, concentric or isometric?
Going down to mini squat would require controlled knee flexion Movement which will be produced by eccentric contraction of quadriceps. Staying or holding the position would require isometric contraction of quadriceps ( ofcourse along with some eccentric activity).
Will do that in future. 😊 Thanks for watching Physioclassroom. Do share our channel videos with your contacts and help us in reaching out to maximum people 😊
hello sir just like gait process is used to study anatomy of human body is there any similar process to get a track of or record the other changes in the human body like hormonal secretions, releasing of various enzymes and chemicals when we perform various activities of daily routine?
Sir, regarding Heel off to toe off , movement in knee joint is extension to flextion , this flextion is against gravity so agonist of knee flexor is working to produce . how it will be eccentric contraction of quads . please explain here kinetic analysis.
Hello dear, This Movement of knee flexion during heel off to toe off takes place towards gravity and not against gravity. Knee is moving ( collapsing towards the ground) similar to when someone wants to sit. So this Movement needs to be controlled and not produced and therefore will require eccentric activity of quadriceps. Had quadriceps been inefficient then it will lead to knee buckling and fall. Hope this is clear, feel free to discuss further.
Hello, From toe off the ankle starts dorsiflexing from a plantarflexed position and reaches neurtral position for the preparation of heel strike. You are right😊 Thanks for watching Physioclassroom 😊 Do share our channel videos with your contacts and help us in reaching out to maximum people 😊

Watch Physiotutors youtube channel for that. Thanks for watching Physioclassroom 😊 I believe in adding educational videos on Physioclassroom channel which has information which are not easily available elsewhere.
Just place a mark on your GT or ASIS and measure it's perpendicular distance from the floor at heel strike and foot flat. This will help you appreciate why the pelvic complex ( includes Hip) is moving towards gravity and therefore needs to be controlled eccentricity. The pelvis goes into anterior depression during heel strike and foot flat which is a Movement towards the gravity. Therfore the hip is also collapsing towards the gravity ( from 25 degree flexion to 20 degree flexion during weight acceptance and is needed to be controlled eccentricity). Feel free to discuss your query further if any. Thanks for watching Physioclassroom 😊❣️ Do share our channel videos with your contacts and help us in reaching out to maximum number of people 😊❤️
People framing question make it very tricky to answer, If they have a supporting evidence of even one Parkinson patient having broad base gait then they will declare the statement as right. Going about typical characteristics PD patients have narrow based gait.
