Great to see EV adoption growing so quickly despite the media, reddit and facebook commentary
And the X community. And… omg
If only these peeps would just have breakfast with Loki - and learn a bit…!
Government putting their boot on the neck of the public.
If EV adoption is growing so quickly, how come:
Tesla sales are down
Tesla fired 15,000 workers recently
Tesla FSD is *years* behind schedule
Tesla Cybertruck is a fiasco
Facebook is a dumpster fire 😑
Outstanding video!
The level of professionalism that you get on my chanel… lol James is the best 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks, Loki! Once again, your pet, James has continued spreading the/v good word.
Spot on James. When I pass a traffic cross in my city, which is the Capital of Jutland, Aarhus, I count at least 3-4 other Teslas. Thats a record. Last year it was only 2-3. Not particular clear scientific evidence, but a visuable development for sure.
Per in Denmark. 😎🇩🇰
I absolutely enjoyed this video!
Thanks Yaan and James.
Ty James & Loki.
Nice to hear some facts!
Here in Greece, people mainly want Tesla if they can afford it!!
BYD entered this year the market and they flooded different car models. People still prefer a Tesla!!
The church of Tesla is at it again 😂
Stupendous update on EV sales so far. I guesstimate that we need an average of 25% EV sales year on year growth to get to around 50 million EV sales pa by 2030 to really make some impact - only achievable if there are enough affordable EVs available in all markets, so come on Tesla get your promised low cost car out the door asap.
🎉
At least *some* parts of Canada are doing great at EV adoption: Quebec is at 22% and B.C. isn't far behind. (Let's not mention the oil province: Alberta)
Also note that there's zero tax credit or other incentives in sweden.
In Vancouver Canada I see Tesla’s everywhere in my neighbourhood of Kitsilano. 🎉
Another Vancouverite here… we are the hottest market in Canada I heard. My tower /condo has at LEAST 20 Teslas
In Canada, less than *one* *percent* of cars on the road are Tesla.
@@DerekDavis213 What was the percentage 5 years ago? 10 years ago? Notice a trend? 😊
@@gwarlow Teslas have been for sale for 10 years, and TODAY in the great country of Canada:
Less than *one* *percent* of cars on the road are Tesla.
And Teslas official range estimates are *way* *off* in The Great White North. Maybe that's why few Canadiens are willing to buy a Tesla?
I don't understand the minus 11.45% EV mix in all sales world wide.
Most likely the minus sign is wrong, he forgot to remove it...
I believe there is ONE Tesla in my country. 🤣🤣🤣👍👍 RSA for the win!!!
You skipped over that negative 2.4%. I guess that EV sales shrank in the rest of the world. That’s just part of the lumpy adoption cycle. I think the low EV adoption is mainly do to the FUD pressure being applied by our biased media.
Are these sales only new cars or also including sales of second hand cars?
New
Are these pure EVs or do they include hybrids?
It is specifically stated there at the start that hybrids were not included.
Hybrids are not EVs per definition 😂
Comparing 2023 to 2022 is pointless. The question of falling EV demand is about 2024.
Yes, we won't know 2024 EV sales numbers until 2025. Same for ICE and needing to wait until next year to see how 2024 turns out.
I sort of don't get what you mean. The only available full year past data is 2023. The 2024Q1 cannot be used, we need a full year. So, on what basis did the media claim that the EV sales were down? On future data from 2024? Don't you get the fact that the goal of these FUD news about EVs is to lower the EV sales? Their wish is the father of this idea. It is one of the OEM death cramps. They know there is no way out, as it is too late now to develop even the OTA software updates; too late to try to compete with China... they are done.
@@Alarix246 they do it by interviewing suppliers. See what manufacturers are ordering. Chips, motors, inverters, wire, metals, glass... they are all leading indicators on what manufacturers are planning on building.
@@Dularrthat type of research is not on their radar. They report rumour and heresay
Today, less than *one* *percent* of cars on American roads are Tesla.
Tesla was first for sale 10 years ago.
Tesla sold 1.8 million EVs in 2023. Ford sold almost 2 million vehicles of all kinds in 2023.
Tesla sold almost 1 million in 2021 and 1.3 million in 2022.
@@dvader3263 We are talking about ALL the cars on the road, in USA.
Less than *one* *percent* of cars on the road in America are Teslas. What an embarrassment.
🤭 it only shows there is plenty of room for more Tesla sales. Get real.
@@Alarix246 If Tesla is so great, why then:
sales are down
stock is down
15,000 workers were fired
Cybertruck is a disaster
Elon is widely disliked
FSD is years behind schedule
@@Alarix246 Plenty of room? Wall Street doesn't buy that line!
That is why Tesla is doing so bad:
sales are down
stock is down
15,000 employees were fired
FSD is years behind schedule
FSD is a joke
Cybertruck is a fiasco
Optimus bot is FAR behind Atlas bot
Alarix, don't be a fan or a dreamer, you have to look at reality: It's time to leave Tesla. Jump ship before its too late.
BEVs seem to be running out of Early Adopters
and the subsidies are running out too
like Germany, where Tesla imploded 40% in Q1 over last year.
Hybrids do not suffer from ANY of the problems BEVs have
no range anxiety
no charging anxiety
So EV sales maybe increase but BEVs have major problems ahead of them
Not a chance! 😂 BEV’s are the worst of both worlds. Poor ev range. ICE maintenance headaches. Gas stations. Etc… I’ve driven my TESLA M3 in -40C in mid-Alberta, Canada and not only had zero range anxiety - but appreciated a car that could get warm BEFORE I got in it - AND could summon to my doorstep. Seriously - just test drive a TESLA/spaceship
@@davidbuchan3753 Elon has had 10 year to deal with both range and charging anxiety
and has failed.
In fact he made it worse by opening his superchargers to every BEV that rumbles by increasing wait times.
Hybrids have none of these problems
better yet - ICE cars have even fewer problems than hybrids
1) Cheaper
2) Less maintenance
3) better resale values since no $5,000-$20,000 battery can go wrong.
Try using Summon on federal or state land, and you will be ticketed by the police.
of course a Tesla is a better car than a hybrid. But there are other brands with problems. It just takes a few years, but in the end, the world will be electric. I wouldn‘t buy a hybrid which I fear I can‘t sell in a few years. Brands and media don‘t help. So it just takes time # lile every transition. People who sell the old stuff are powerful, so it‘s a bumpy ride like every adoption. Time will tell. And the air quality will get better :)
Many people who own hybrids with 38 miles of range rave about how they only need to fill their gas tanks once every few months.
If they are able to drive for months without filling their gas tank, and they are running on electricity most of the time with just a short electric range, then they are not driving any long distance trips. So, an EV with over 300 miles of range is all they would ever need.
With the Supercharger network, their is no range anxiety. Hours ahead of charging, the vehicle gives info telling the range, when and where the vehicle can be charged, how many Superchargers are available and the cost per kWh. Again, hours before arriving.
Range anxiety mostly happened when EVs had a range of 73 miles. Newsflash for all, with Tesla, range anxiety is no longer a thing.
And as far as cold weather is concerned, EV batteries like to be pre-conditioned/pre-heated, which allows for longer range and fast charging times in cold weather. Preconditioning is as easy as setting an alarm on a smartphone.
Uninformed people need to learn how to use this simple technology.
Hybrids are just technical nonsense 😢
5:04 drats, again, an American correctly pronouncing a foreigner's name, yet absolutely needlessly apologizing for mispronouncing... why am I so pissed off when I see this??? Guys, you are pronouncing it correctly, especially if the name belongs to IndoEuropean language family - in this case it is typically one of the Baltic languages, which is very similar to Nordic, so stop trashing yourselves, you're fine!!!
lost credibility to me for your earnings estimate
One of many reasons I don’t subscribe or like your video is because of you not getting straight to the point.. nobody cares about your dog
I love your dog and think it adds to the video. Facts alone have not been effective in fighting FUD.
I think you’re in the minority.
Well, the poor Loki laboratory lifestyle is very sad for me. But then I realize that James most likely leads a very similar, unnatural life. No natural joys like wife, kids or fresh air in the garden... I feel sorry for both of them, although I like James' videos and all. I wish Loki had a garden to roam through, a piece of woods or park to socialize with other dogs and so on, but well, this is the high living standards in the western society in all its beauty...
@mvrz6 And yet, here you are… welcome to Loki’s place, where nobody is in a hurry. Cheers.😊
