- This is how I modified a DeWalt polesaw from its original 10ft. length to this 20ft. version. Subscribe to see more mechanical shenanigans!

Nice modification. I would have added a drill handle to the pole to hold it up with my left hand while I pressed the trigger with my right hand. It might also make it easier to operate as a counter lever handle. and I would have painted the brackets yellow to match the tool.
That’s nice . Especially thermal shaping of the plastic 😁
C channel n heavy 1 inch pipe at connection point definitely make it robust
I find it to be plenty robust and sturdy :). I really like the term "thermal shaping" too, I'm going to use that next time. I've been saying that I "melted it into shape", which means the same thing but takes too many words.
For the hedge trimmer attachment they need to make a short attachment otherwise you have to buy the handheld hedge trimmer also maybe DeWalt wants people to buy both
Thanks so much!!! Very smart man….
Id like to shorten the handle assembly for smaller reach jobs.. Any tips on doing that? But.. i want to preserve the factory lengrh when i need to go higher in the canopy
Don't tell me.........Your favorite comedians is.....Buddy Hackitt?
Haha, I think my style is more like the Red & Green Show. If it ain't broke, fix it until it is ;).
Or you could have just bought an extra middle section, grind down the 2 guide tabs and been done with it.
Good idea, the simplest solution is usually the best. Unfortunately I couldn't find any middle sections sold separately, and wasn't sure if those pieces would be strong enough with the increased leverage.

I have an extra extension..you are saying all it takes to add an extra middle extension is to grind down the guide tabs? That's it?
@@mattbinar8288 pretty much yes. You will notice on the male end there are only 2 guide slots and when you look in the female end there are 4 guide tabs inside. Match up the arrows on each section and remove the two tabs that don't line up. Thats all I did and it works perfectly fine. The extra lenght makes it a little floppy, but just be careful and its fine. I still use it with no problems. Just take your time and don't try to force it. It took me several "grind, see if it fits" before I removed enough that they screwed together and wasn't binding up.
@@jeeves744 thank you. I'll give it a try and if I have any issues I'll let you know. Thank you again
