I actually ordered chrome tow hooks and the hardware from Mopar for the front of my Cherokee. I got the Latitude Lux trim. I wish they would have tow hooks as an option across the board.
I actually made front recovery tow points for the front of my renegade limited. I was planning on making more and selling them but the interest for them never was enough for me to start making more. For the rear I just put in a factory tow hitch.
Hey brother how you doing I just came across your channel. Like the vehicle it looks amazing. Brother I got a 22 Jeep renegade is a latitude 4 x 4. Can't complain I love my car. Quick question does the lift kit. That you have. Does it gives you any issues when you are driving in the highway gas mileage wise and is it worth it. I do a lot of fishing and hunting but I do Uber in my car?
I would say personally, the lift kit wouldn't be any problem, even if you still Uber. But if you only use your Renegade for fishing and hunting, you don't really need the extra lift. Unless you're going off roading you don't necessarily need it.
I got stuck three times this year, one of the problems of living in the country lol but because I watched your other video I kept coveralls and a shovel in my car. Kid you not the first time I shoveled for 40 minutes and the second time I was stuck for almost a hour in -17 degrees before wind chill but got myself out and made it to work. The second time once I hit the highway I had to drive on the wrong side of the road for about a mile because it was just snow drift after snow drift, luckily outside a town of a couple hundred people there wasn't any traffic.
@@AdventureGT anybody that has a jeep patriot or renegade would figure this out...Keep that in the vehicle until you need it!! Lol. You can get them on Amazon now though...
@@AdventureGT no they aren’t. They are simple tie downs for transport. They only go into the aluminum crash bar. They are not mounted to the frame, absolutely do not try it with the front you will rip your bumper off
@@IanNubbit Ok so what about the rear? If the front one goes into the crash bar is it ok to be pulled soft from the rear? I am trying to figure out what I can do if I get stuck in the snow or whatever before winter. I have the latitude 4x4
@@lowlandraised7266 Anything more then to tie a vehicle to a trailer will strain those mount points. They will absolutely not hold the weight of the vehicle, there is also loads of videos you can find of bumpers being ripped off from people being mis-informed. When I got my Renegade stuck once, I just wrapped a strap around upper and lower control arms in the rear and pulled slow. Defiantly not ideal and there is no true area for a recovery mount on them stock unless you have a trailhawk or one with the tow hooks.
This was soooo helpful, thankyou! Just ordered the Tow Hook Bolt from the dealer. going to make the next time i get stuck so much easier!

I agree! But that sounds like a sweet rig.
I just bought these! Thanks for the advice 👍🏻
2:01 $8 dls at tractor & supply store lowes carries them too
Your videos are very helpful thank you!
do you have a video on how to install those cool flood lights by your windsheild???

I thought about the factory tow hitch as well but I don't like how low they hang
@@AdventureGT the factory hitch is in the bumper. All the aftermarket ones hang below it.
Maybe I should look into it then. Thanks for the idea
@@AdventureGT I just got a quote for a factory hitch installed on my 21 renegade jeepster. $3300.00!!!!!!
GULP!!
Hello, brother
How did you catch Hook's shortstop?
It can't be seen in the video, but it's installed in the next video
They are called a kinetic recovery strap.

what size is the shackle?
Some cars have these in the trunk with the spare tire and jack.
You're right. unfortunately mine did not.
Now I need to match Omaha orange , with some spray paint
Yes it should fit your 2015. You could always go with black paint. Or get lucky and find a close matching paint from Walmart.
can You tell me the thread size of hook and if its right or lefthand ? i cant find the thread size any where
Thank you 😮
What is the oem part number for that ?
can you tell me if the rear female threads are going into the frame so it is safe to pull from there?
Will that fit a 2015 Jeep renegade?
Yes
is that M16?

I’m glad I have the Upland, I have the front hooks & front skid plates
Thats definitely what your gonna want. Better having it stock then having to add it later.
What size is it
What keeps people from taking it? I wouldn't leave that in lol.
I suppose you're not wrong. Perhaps if people don't know how the mechanism works they won't try to take it.

Not bad advice. Fortunately no one has taken mine yet
It looks great. You just put them backwards. The long one goes in the back.
It looked weird up front. Kept it in the back. Looked better there 😁
What’s the part #?
It's in the video @8:51
Do not use those to recover your vehicle they are not made for that
Thats exactly what there made for. For emergencies only, not to just pull any random guy from a ditch.
