There's a game I wasn't able to find in your webpage or in your Steam Curator list, and I think it would be a great fit for the channel (it currently lacks any proper video review). Its name is Roah, and it's from the same creator as Wings of Vi, an amazing hardcore platformer.

I was almost 100%ready to by this game and your review helped me I passed because metroidvania's are my favorite games but this with the bat being the what seems the real focus? I really like games that when something on your character changes it shows...like the nail in hollow knight different weapon looks in the mummy demastered even super metriod the outfits change colors but I think I'm going to grab monster sanctuary first thanks for review

Ori Will of the Wisps is by far the best MV I've ever played -- it's an absolute masterpiece. It's widely considered the best MV ever made and peak of the genre. The world design, mechanics, abilities, gameplay, boss design, artstyle, music, and emotionally beautiful story isn't even close to being matched (hollow Knight is my second fav and might come close in certain areas 😜 ok... HK has more focus on combat). But you def need to play Ori will of the wisps and don't wait for this channel to review it. If you're a fan of MV then it's a no-brainer must-play
@@thillsificationCompletely agree with everything except ori being over hollow knight. A couple others rank above ori for me as well but it's on my top 5 and easily the best metroidvania to break into the genre as a new fan. Probably best art style as well.
Catmaze is still my wife's favorite game out of the ones she's watched me play. Valdis Story: Abyssal City may or may not already be scheduled for a future video review this year.
@@metroidvaniareview7946 I love the artstyle and setting of catmaze but am hesitant about the combat and gameplay .. what's your take? I'm worried I'll get all hyped but be bored and let-down by slow, boring, uninspired combat/gameplay :/ but I'd love to hear your take on it
Catmaze is pretty well varied. Its biggest weaknesses are that the attack animations are a bit slow and thus awkward, and the difficulty ramps up in somewhat painful spikes especially as you get near the end of the game. But I think its biggest advantage is the world design. Exploration is great, and I personally found the game's characters charming enough to want to see what happens to them. Thanks to the spiking difficulty I definitely wouldn't say it's boring.
