- Bleach, the first of the Big Three to fall out of Favor with Shounen jump, but also the first to prove why it is in the Big Three in the first place, by its return. Now, unfortunately I was not a fan of Bleach until recently, and never got as invested in it as some other people did. However, I am still a fan of it. So, with the anime being renewed I decided to watch the first episode and what I saw was fantastic and only slightly jarring. It's weird seeing such a different anime, compared to the One Piece anime, anyway.

How do you feel about the lieutenants being able to dodge the transportation that Aizen and the espada use, it was described as light by Yamamoto, so if it is really the speed of light then Ichigo in Shikai in the soul society arc is somewhat relative to light speed, whether its his reactions or combat speed.
Light does not always mean Lightspeed.

3 lieutenants dodged the negacion which was stated a beam that was light speed
And they dodged it in 1.29 seconds
So 1.29c/.10 =12.9c
Means 12.9 time faster than light
And ichigo was able to speedblitz them in base it makes ichigo 6 times faster than light
12.9 x 6 = 88.4 x faster than light
And bankai is 10 times shikai
So 88.4x10=884 times faster than speed of light

Ichigo is not ftl.... the notion is ridiculous and usually stems from a lack of understanding how absurdly fast light speed is. Very few anime ever present that kind of feat... hell even dbz doesn't have any real "close to lightspeed" feats until super. After images =/= lightspeed or even close... dodging "laser" beams dont either. Plus there's all the plot holes that kinda of level of speed/power creates. Ichigo was shitting himself at the prospect that gins bankai was 500X the speed of sound... but now he's faster than light? Nah

Yes.... he said specifically that it wasnt as long or AS FAST. So ichigo was actually blitzed by a sub 500X sound weapon.
@RJ not even remotely close. Light speed is fast enough to circle the earth 8 times in a second... Not one feat demonstrated by anyone in bleach comes close to that speed in movement.

They should have relative speed no? Luffy is mftl+ but so is ichigo, cuz ftl speed was a thing for lower lieutenant level soul reapers casually all the way back in soul society arc, wich ichigo far exceeded even back then.
