Very timely! I managed to snap a couple between branches tonight. I was very surprised to even see the comet visually. As an added bonus my new neighbors gave me intel on a local hill with great views. Between the Aurora last Thursday, the comet tonight and shooting location I feel like I hit the lottery😂 Now I have this video to learn more photoshop techniques, thank you!👍👍👍👍👍
This video was so topical. I shot a bunch last night, but have only done what I would call pre-K editing. I am now going back and getting deep with what you showed here. Your workflow skills and how you articulate them are exactly what I have been looking for!!! Thanks!!!
Thanks for the tips! Sky finally cleared up and got to see and photograph the comet tonight. Used the 100-500 on R5mkII and got some nice shots. Hopefully weather cooperates tomorrow so I can get out to a more interesting looking location, as tonight I only got a few leaves in the foreground.
Thank you, your video guidance and explanation is very interesting and helpful and will come in handy for night sky editing 🌙⭐now I have to go check out some of your other videos regarding Astro Photography👍👍😎
If there's something that I don't know where it is in the sky, I mostly use stellarium on my pc. You can also use photo pills, sky map, or just Google. Stellarium is the best though, IMHO. You can input a lot of data including your sensor, lens, focal length, etc., to see a proper field of view and orientation of your target.
It's just something and friend and I made to help with space and usability in my tiny car. I actually made a video about my whole setup while ago. I've since changed a lot of things and am making a new video about everything, but I haven't changed anything about that piece, so you can check it out here if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/KpcV3tD6XDE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6vmQozlb-AFqltqU
Thank you thank you thank you. I have been struggling with editing my comet photos. You are the Master and I bend the knee. 🙏 Will you be doing a Timelapse of the comet? If so is the editing similar?
Thanks Dan, I hope it helps with your editing! I doubt I'll get to do a timelapse of the comet. I should have planned better. It looks like we're gonna get clouded out for the next couple of nights so I might not see it again. Glad I at least got those few shots.
Yeah, looks like here in my area we're gonna get clouded out for the next couple of nights, so I might not see it again. Glad I at least got those few images the other night.
Woooow that's such amazing photo & composition. I had a query, when you stack multiple photos above each other, doesn't the position of the comet itself change slightly? How does that align relative to the foreground?
cheers brent! i was looking intop this. downloaded a star tracker app for my phone and it seems there is no chance to see this comet in asia. is it right that some parts of the world wont see it? and how do we find that out?
Where was the location? Did I hear the word “Rex” ? as in Idaho ? One of my favorite states. Beautiful work. Wish I had such a mastery of PS. I’m pretty much a LR type for what I do which is Aviation and Airshow photography with the R5 and R6 Mark II. Night sky stuff always gets my attention though. Nice channel.
Oh gosh just went out today to try and shot it finally (after waiting for days for the clear skies in Eastern Canada) and the brightness has gone down by ~3 magnitudes in those few days, the full moon did not help, hurry out there if you can :).

Hey thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it and I'm glad the video helped!
Fantastic results! I hope to get out in the next day or two to see it and maybe capture it!
Thanks man, good luck with it!
Awesome
Nice pictures. Here we have had a wet, cold and cloudy situation, so I havent been able to see the comet. Right now we have thick fog outside.....
Thanks for this video. It inspired me to get out last night and get some shots of the comet!
You're welcome, I'm really glad to hear that!
Great video! Going back out tonight. Take care
I’ll be in Michigan the next two days, hopefully catch it over the lake. I wish I was back in the Tetons though for both the aurora and comet.
So jealous that you got to see the comet so clearly. Where I am in the UK we've had clouds up till now so no comet for me
Oh bummer! Well you have a couple more chances, hopefully you'll get a break in the clouds!

You bet man, I hope the video helped, and good luck with it for the next couple of nights!
I still find it weird not to see an Alyn Wallace video on things like this....
Yeah, I miss him. 😞

Thank you! Awesome video, I have been waiting for three days for the clods to away now to shoot this thing.... Hopefully today is the day. :)
Fingers crossed for clear skies!
I love all your videos! You always explain everything so clearly!
Also, what app do you use to track/find stars and the comet?

@@BrentHall thank you so much!
Thank you for all of the details. Can I ask about your trunk organizer? This is the first time I have watched one of your posts.

I think the Blitzen and the Donner party got in an altercation and Comet is in the cloud witness protection program. 🙄🤠

Yeah, it will definitely change, which is why you can't stack too many, and your shutter speed, intervals, and focal length really matter for this.
@@BrentHall right! Makes sense 🙌

As far as I know, it should be visible just after sunset for the next couple of days, anywhere in the northern hemisphere.

Also, this is sw New Mexico. That was at the city of rocks state park.

Yeah, it really dropped in brightness! 😞
