Live in inner cities is certainly difficult with stagnant wages, rising homelessness and political issues. But it is particularly difficult for black youth and men who experience overpolicing and abuse. It is also particularly difficult on the black women who go unnoticed and become victims as well. These women love black men and have to suffer seeing the men in their be arrested and become another prisoner. Leaving single mothers to fend for themselves, 2pac's music spoke to a lot of those women's stories. He was a truly great man and artist, RIP.

His mother was a prominent Black Panthers member and was arrested facing federal charges while pregnant with Tupac. She was so strong and brilliant that she refused legal representation and represented herself. She was eventually acquitted because the prosecutors couldn't compete.
To add to what people have said about hip hop and rap, the two are intertwined. As you continue this part of your journey, you should check out Rapper's Delight by The Sugarhill Gang, and pay special attention to the opening words.
