Bro I was about to disassemble my remote until I gave a shot. I pressed the power button 10 times then hold it for 30 secs and it worked. Thank you for save me some money 😊
Disconnected the TV, pulled the batteries out, did the whole button pressing method, I’ll be very honest - I did not have much hope for this haha you’re the man!
Did the take out battery and press every button and hold the power button for 30 seconds and it worked. Didnt have to disconnect the HDMI sticks, but I did the disconnect power but that didn't work. You da MAN!
man you're a gem ! u r no ordinary man you are super man ! .... damn i almost was ready to make an arduino based remote then ur video played automatically and i tried it unplugged everything like power socket , hdmi and usb, took off the batteries, gave a massage to the remote, and then it worked on the 3rd try .. TYSM for this angry Indian man who almost decided to make his own arduino remote
Thankyou so so much I thought my remote is gone 🤧but because of you it didn't 😂 Thankyou ✨ Actually I accidentally dropped my remote..and I thought it dead and mom dad will going to make me dead too hehe😂...but because of TH-cam and Ur vedio I got saved Thanks✨
Omg thank you it worked I had to go all the way through all the steps, I think my fire stick or chrome cast was interfering with the remote. Thank You again for the helpful video!😍
It worked for me too. Taking the batteries out and pressing all the buttons and then holding power button for 30 seconds. I can’t believe it. Put batteries back in and it worked, thanks so much.
Thank you, in my situation where the SONY sound bar is in front of the LGTV I merely had to turn OFF the sound bar IR repeater function because when it was ON it actually interfered with the LGTV magic remote on/off signal reception.
One other cause. On many LG TV’s like the 55” B6 OLED all the buttons on the remote are Radio Frequency but the ON/OFF Power Button uses IR (infrared) If you have a sound bar or anything blocking the IR port all the Buttons on the remote will work but the TV will not turn on and off. Check if something is blocking the remotes IR from hitting the IR port. On my LG it’s at the bottom center next to the manual power button and LED light.
Thank you so much for pointing this out! I have an LG OLED 77C1PUB and could not figure out why all the remote functions worked except the on/off button. And of course, my soundbar was blocking the infrared receiver on the TV. Problem solved thanks to you. 😀
Thank you, in my situation I merely had to turn OFF my Sony sound bar IR repeater function because when it was ON it actually interfered with the TV remote on/off signal reception.
Omg. If I could find you and give you a big hug right now, I would. Just spent 30 minutes trying to figure out this remote and this is the first video that helped!!!
WORKS WORKS WORKS, i have a magic remote and no dongles or usb attached to the TV. The power button was just behaving weird, had to press multiple times to get the tv ON. I unplugged the TV for a little more than 30 seconds. Removed the remote batteries , pressed power for 30 seconds, then more than 10 times clicked the power button and then the frenzy step till fingers hurt. Popped back the batteries. Turned on TV , Crossed fingers 🤞🏽 and hit the power button. VOILA , in just a single click it WORKED , tested it some 5 times now and its working fine. A BIG THANKS. Your video featured a bit lower in my search about how to open a LG remote ( for cleaning dust) , but no opening required. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! It worked! My remote somehow stopped working and would only take me to the home screen of my room and nothing else. But the third tip helped fix it!
I fixed it on my TV. In my case, it was a metal laptop support, unmounted, placed under the TV central sensor (near the red light). I moved it back. Remote control started working smoothly again...
Hi brow, I thank you. It works for Konka tv remote control with in the first step troubleshooting your method. Unplug the socket wall for 30 seconds and reconnect then press the power button a little harder for more than 10 times while the tv running on it works right away. Thank you again I'm from Ethiopia.
Probably the most common problem is that the infrared eye at the bottom of the tv is blocked. The tv sits pretty low, so if you have a sound bar that is slightly taller than the eye ,your on/off button won’t work. The rest of the buttons work on R.F that’s why they are not effected. Try moving the sound bar a couple inches away from the TV. This solved my problem.
If this doesn't work try this. It worked for me but I uses a cotton swab with WD-40 on it to clean out the remote in on the back of the TV. Remote worked after I did this.... Try this simple solution if your remote stops working I had the same problem . I have a few remotes that were programmed to operate the television. It was highly unlikely that all 3 of the remotes were defective or with bad batteries since the other components like stereo and the cable box would work with the same remotes. I assumed the problem lied with the receiver on the TV. It turned out to be the TV but not the receiver itself. Let me explain, there is a "REMOTE IN" jack on the back of the TV to connect an external wired remote. When you plug in an external wired remote, it deactives the IR sensor. But the problem was that I didn't have an external remote plugged in there. What happens is that some corrosion builds up in the connector behind the TV which causes the circuit to close and deactives the IR receiver, all that is required is to unplug the TV from power source, squirt some WD-40 (only a little) into the connector hole behind the TV and use any 3.5mm plug like a headphone jack and plug-unplug a dozen times to loosen any build-up in the plug which I did and now the TV receives the signals from the IR remote. It worked like a charm for me....the entire fix took less than a minute. I hope this helps anyone out there with the same problem.
I used the series of buttons to set sleep timer on, mainly the navigation and select. Fault started 2nd winter time a few weeks before Christmas. The down, right & select buuttons only worked infrequently but in the following Spring & summer it was ok on these buttons. This winter all 3 buttons rarely work & all others okay. The RH can be replaced or subbed by the LH Nav button as can the UP button sub the DOWN, but the select button is now 99% useless so replacing remote. 😢
yooo wtf i was soo sceptical about the second thing (because my remote allways stays clean and i use it only to turn on/off the tv cuz i only game on it) and it did work!!!
What worked for me was taking the remote apart and wiping the circuit board with a towel. It looked clean but apparently wasn’t. After that it worked fine.
Thank you! This might sound a bit funny, did all the steps, didn't turn on but pressed key number 2 and it worked (Turning TV on) but no way it turned off by pressing later all keys!!!
The SECOND Step really work. But when I did that Step for 3 times its actually worked like before because for first time it was not working from the corner side of the TV.It was only working at the straight of the detector. Thanks buddy.
Bro I was about to disassemble my remote until I gave a shot. I pressed the power button 10 times then hold it for 30 secs and it worked. Thank you for save me some money 😊
It worked!! Holding it down for 30 seconds after turning off TV, removing batteries and pressing all buttons. My TV isn't LG either. Thank you!
यह इसे 30 सेकंड तक दबाए रखें बंद करने के बाद बैटरियाँ निकालना और सभी बैटरियों को दबाना
Disconnected the TV, pulled the batteries out, did the whole button pressing method, I’ll be very honest - I did not have much hope for this haha you’re the man!
My 12 year old daughter helped me with this. Thanks so much for showing this!
Did the take out battery and press every button and hold the power button for 30 seconds and it worked. Didnt have to disconnect the HDMI sticks, but I did the disconnect power but that didn't work. You da MAN!
I pressed and hold the failed button for 30 seconds and it works again. Thank you for your helpful video.

Pulling the plug for 30 seconds is what actually worked for me. Thank you.
Solution number two with the button mashing legit worked! Thank you! #legend
Power button control was sporadic. Often had to press 4-5 times to turn TV on/off. 30 sec. power reset fixed it. Thanks!
It worked for me too. Taking the batteries out and pressing all the buttons and then holding power button for 30 seconds. I can’t believe it. Put batteries back in and it worked, thanks so much.
