    Weird story, I used to dive a ton and my watch died , I bought a battery kit and just never changed it because I got away from diving as much, and so after probably ten years I put an old ( new) battery kit in it and it started right up!

    I get this question alot. On my left wrist is my normal everyday watch for telling the time. It never leaves my wrist. On my right wrist is the dive computer watch, which i only wear while diving.

    Hey man. Its a good question, and difficult to answer in a public forum - because the rule is never dive alone. I used to dive alone - but the risk is there, I though it was acceptable, and i wasn't going deeper then 12 or so meters. But I've stopped that now. I'm always with a buddy. There is no way I would drop below the 20 meter mark without somebody watching me.
    And please check out my other videos, like the Green Island and Justin's Caves video :)

    Hi aquafafa- I had the same problem, and thankfully I know the solution.
    The trick was to reset the diver counter to zerio before exiting the FREE mode.
    When you are in FREE mode, exit FREE by holding top left button for 2 seconds , and you should be back in the time mode. Hold top left button again for 2 seconds to go back into FREE. If you now see the the sufrace timer is still counting, hold the top right button for 2 seconds to reset the diver counter to 0. Now exit FREE mode- should be ok

    The ring is made of steel. But yes its a mostly plastic watch. If your interested in just using it as a dive watch, i think that was the right choice. However if you want a more fashionable fully metal watch, you can look at the Suunto D4i range. They have both plastic and stainless steel versions. You'll pay a small fortune for the stainless steel.

    Here is one way - check if your watch has the 'wet activation' options in the settings. V2 does NOT have this setting - it was removed in in the V2.

    im 13 and i just started freediving. My dad, an experienced free diver, is going to take me diving later in the year. Right now we're buying all of me gear and it's getting expensive. Are there any cheaper watches that are similar to this one? And is it important or necessary to have a dive watch?

    Good review! Great dive watch! In the diving clips you are using two watches, one on each hand, can you tell why?

  • @aquafafa
    @aquafafa 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    thank you! i will try this at my next dive ! because for the moment, i had pushed out the battery to return to a counter at zero . and it's not good for waterproofing.
    i hope that your solution works for me ! have a good day !

    I personally I will stick the F10.I like the big display digits And most importantly to me, user replaceable battery. I have done 2 battery changes. quick easy cheap. The D4 requires the watch to be sent into a service center to have the battery changed. It costs a lot.. and they will probably keep the watch for a few days before handing it back to you. Not a dealbreaker - just a trade off. D4 sounds more suitable for you. Its still a good choice, more functional(scuba), and better looking.

    great review, wonder if you are free diving do you often dive just by yourself? I thinking of diving alone sometime, wonder if you think thats safe?

    Hello Freediver HD, love all your videos you have great explanations to everything. Other than dive mode, what else made you want to keep the F10 vs. F10-v2?

    Hey Born2Die83! One question about the watch, that I do also own, is regarding the temp indication. It just seems like it adjusts very slow to any temp change. For instance, if water temp at surface is about 22'C, at -23 m it should be about 1-2 degrees lower, which is noticeable when not wearing a wetsuit.
    Have you ever noticed this when diving? It's my first dive watch and I wonder, shouldn't it be more sensitive?

    To Amaro:
    When "OFF" is always there, press once upper right MODE button to get time, day, date screen. Now press and hold upper right button until it blink (around 3-4 sec.) and time, day, date screen should be on.
    It think that this is like battery saver. When Im not using it I put it to OFF....

    Hi Freediver HD, a question, how to turn the timer on both in watch mode and free mode? Both of them are show off, and I can not turn them on.

    hello,I have the same watch, and I have a small question.
    when you are in FREE mode, the counter put a spin. but when the dives are finished ,the mode free is always running. while in the beginning when I am in the time mode alternately free mode, the counter return to zero.
    I have dried sensors, just in case ... but the counter of the mode free run continuously since 9:00 hours ...not good for battery
    can you tell me how is the functionning of your watch?
    sorry for my bad english.
    thank you

  • @denmyos

    what is the differences between sea and fresh water, when you freedive. And why does the watch need to know?

    • @freediverhd
      @freediverhd  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Salt water is slightly heavier than fresh water, so the pressure sensor will read sightlight deeper in salt water vs fresh water.

    Hi Freediver, probably sounds like a stupid question but do you know how to change the watch from meters to feet. I have searched the manual and cant find anything. I looked on deeper blue but they say go to page 55 and my manual only goes to 30. Very confusing but im lost in meters. Love the videos by the way.

    • @equilibrochu
      @equilibrochu 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Here's how to change units from meters to feet:
      1. Press+hold MODE button to go into freedive mode.
      2. Press+hold ADV.LOG and SELECT buttons simultaneously. You'll get then into SETA mode (meaning: Set Alarms).
      3. Press+hold ADV.LOG and SELECT buttons simultaneously again. You'll then get to SETU (meaning: set utilities).
      4. Press the ADV.LOG button 3 times. (1st time: you get to choose what kind of water you train in - SEA or FRESH. 2nd time: you get to choose the depth of which you want to start the chrono for freedive. 3rd time: you get to the UNIT menu which allows you to choose which system you want to use: either METER and CELSIUS of FEET and FAHRENHEIT. To make your choice, press the SELECT button.
      5. Then, to get out of this menu, once you've made your choice, press+hold the ADV.LOG and SELECT buttons simultaneously. You'll then get to the serial number of your dive computer (watch). Press+hold AGAIN on those 2 buttons to go back to FREEDIVE MODE.
      6. To get back to WATCH MODE from FREEDIVE MODE, hold the MODE button.
      You can go back and forth from these 2 modes by holding the MODE button.
      There you go !

    For how long does the battery last on the F.10 v.2?

  • @MrLatharen
    @MrLatharen 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do I set the "standard time" as the time I want to display by default? My watch goes into the alternate time view after 2 minutes and displays just "Off" because I have not set any time offset. That is pretty annoying, how do I change defaults between the two times?

    • @MrLatharen

      I see, long press Select on the desired time screen.

    Does this one have the option for inputting static o2/co2 tables? I thought the D4i did have it. Or am i mistaken?

    • @freediverhd
      @freediverhd  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      stevegorel no option for this on this watch. The d4i has basic tables, but it's lacking in functionality. You much better off with a smartphone app.

    • @stevegorel
      @stevegorel 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Freediver HD So, I only free dive. Does the D4i have some options for free diving that the Aeris F10 (v3) doesn't have that I need to consider?

    • @freediverhd
      @freediverhd  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aeris has bigger easier to read digits, and a user replaceable battery, that's it.

    • @stevegorel
      @stevegorel 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Freediver HD I ordered it for 250 dollars, i think it is version 1. It does not say, but seems logic. What are the added features on the version 2? Maybe I can still cancel the order

    • @freediverhd
      @freediverhd  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Version 1 has something called 'wet activation'. that feature was removed in v2. People told me v1 is a bit buggy, but I never owned one. so im not sure.
