- Hello everyone, welcome back to our channel!
Today, we're excited to bring you an early garden update, thanks to an unusually warm May here in Norway. 🌞
We recently returned from the UK, where we visited some inspiring gardens. We came back full of new ideas, which we're eager to implement in our own garden. 🌿
Our garden is four weeks ahead of its usual schedule, with plants blooming earlier than ever. From the purple lilies of the valley to the lush greenery, it’s looking amazing! 🌼
We also share some of our favorite moments from our UK trip, including meeting TH-cam gardening personality Garrett and exploring beautiful estates like Sissinghurst Castle and Hever Castle.
Join us as we tour our garden, share our planting plans, and introduce you to our summer flowers and greenhouse setup. We also tackle some garden maintenance and discuss our robot mower, Rob, who might need an update. 🤖
Don't forget to like, subscribe, and turn on notifications so you never miss an update. Plus, consider joining as a member for exclusive content and perks! 🌿✨
Thank you for watching, and we’ll see you in the next video! Bye! 👋

So fun to see your garden! It’s looking beautiful!
Garden ideas so far along! Beautiful...
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your garden with us- so fun to hear you planning your garden and seeing what plants are growing there
You are welcome!
“A TH-cam personality who talked to us” … I know just how you feel! It was the thrill of my life talking with both of you on a knitting cruise, and then again at Jimmy Bean’s.❤
I love hearing you speak Norwegian. It’s my childhood language. Thanks for the tour:)
Thank you for joining!
Lovely episode! When suddenly you all started to speak your language, it gave the scene such a cosy, homely vibe. I wish I could speak this hygge/mys language ❤
I just love the way the sky and shoreline is reflected in the water. It’s just magical. 🧚
😍😍
What a beautiful place your home is located! You have a lot of gardens & walkways to care for - longer days give you more time to do your chores! Thanks
What a beautiful garden! And love listening to you all speak Norwegian!
Thank you for sharing more of your life, and your beautiful garden with us. And the view of the lake in the background is spectactular!
Thank you for watching!
Catching up with your videos after a harrowing season of climate work here in New York. We're suffering a terrible heat wave at the moment making the glacial pace of climate action even more upsetting. It's lovely spending a little virtual time with you both while I'm knitting a colorwork vest out of yarns that I've dyed with botanical dyes. Your garden is so lovely. I'm inspired to try to put more effort into mine. I think I might have to try to go on the next English Garden tour with you!!!
It's already hit 100 here. Texas is tough. We start planting in early March. By August, it's a losing battle with the heat. I love seeing your garden.
Hi guys. You live in such a beautiful peaceful place. ❤
We are fortunate
I love your garden much nicer than the gardens you have just visited over here in the UK . Enjoy the summer in your garden when it arrives. Sian from North Wales 😊
Hello there! I hope Robs is working well. He seems pretty cool.❤
We had an early spring here also in Montreal. I wish you a good gardening season. It is a real pleasure to listen to you speak Norvegian, thanks !
Your garden, the lake and your home are stunning. I can only wish for that atmosphere. Thank you for sharing.
Thaank you for watching!
So beautiful, thank you for sharing
I'm going to watch this video again and also remember to watch it next winter. You've created a lovely tribute to your beautiful garden and to spring 😊
Hoping for Rob’s revival! Lovely garden, and Great Dixter is one of my favourite gardens too.
👍🏻
Thank you for the delightful garden tour. 🌻🍄
You are welcome!
What a wonderful garden you have. I long to live near water. Your home is lovely.
Such a beautiful garden. The love and care are visible.❤👏🏼💐
So wonderful to see this. Made me pick up my knitting that has sat since May 27th. Here just above the 49th parallel, westcoast Canada, summer is late. Rain and cold weather until 3 days ago finally the sun is warming enough to make the rose buds begin to open.
I loved the part about Rob, both of you speaking Norwegian. Such a beautiful sound hearing your native tongue. I wouldn't mind if this happens again, and possibly subtitles available? Happy gardening and renovating. ❤😊🦋🥂
Oh gosh, no apologies necessary - your garden is already loves especially for this early in the year. I love those boulders and an edging for the geraniums and the path you've worked on is going to be amazing. Good luck with Rob.
Hi! How great to know from you. You did such a good work with your garden! Blessings
I enjoyed listening to you speak in your native language. 😊
Im just amazed at your garden…its a lot of work so how do you do gardening and then all your crafts and traveling. Beautiful. ❤
Thank you so much!
Greetings,
We are experiencing a week long heatwave 100° days and very warm evenings (not good sleeping weather).
Your gardens are lovely.
Cheers,
Upstate NY
Hi Guys, it’s me Dottie from Reno. I miss you so much. You are both a must see.
Gorgeous plants I like getting out I n the garden found you channel through the last homely house , I've,been to Norway 🇳🇴 but years ago ! Loved it Kaye x
Your garden looks so great. Hello Dear Freija! x
I had a feeling you ran into Fergus Garret at Great Dixter... Perhaps he was "fan girl-ing" over you two, as well! How fun. Thanks for showing some of your book haul from your garden touring, looks like you got to see some great places. Your garden is looking very spring forward... as for your tree dilemma, perhaps you'd consider saving it to cut down at Christmas time for the next round of Christmas balls (and the birds can use until then). All the motifs can be nature-inspired from your garden...? Just be sure to plant another one to accentuate your view of the lake from your new addition or favorite view out from the garden. Enjoy! 💚
so beautiful ❤
The lake is beautiful. Native language pretty cool!
Love your videos. Hope your machine works. Love to got to see your garden it is very nice I really love it. Be safe and be Happy much peace and love.
You as well!
A lovely walk around your garden. I watched the video while in my campervan at a campsite near Lillehammer - so perhaps not far away! However the weather is now not so sunny and warm in Norway. Hope your new summer plants are OK.
That was close! We hope you had a nice visist in Lillehammer.
Thanks for the tour! It’s amazing and frightening how much ahead of the usual schedule your garden is growing. At this rate you’ll have violets blooming in January!
Your Bergenia are HUGE. They get about 16 " high in Western Canada with thr flower stalk! I don't see any Rhubarb! Always luv a good strawberry & rhubarb pie in June. When your peonies bloom, you can make Peony Jelly. It is delicious!
🎉 Good morning from beautiful Northern Idaho USA! Lovely seeing you on this fine day. I love your chats and crafts. ❤
This was so delightful! Lovely to see Freya "at large." Hoping Rob only needs an update! The garden is early indeed. Having watched the gardening videos and shorts, it is familiar to me now. It makes it wonderful to see it evolving over time...your hands and it's heart are a fertile combination. Thank you SO much❤
Wow! The garden looks lovely! It’s exceptionally hot down here in Texas as well, but everything in our garden that is in direct sunlight is beginning to look very charred and brown lol 😂 happy to see you both as always ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Happy Sunday! The garden is looking beautiful and I love your view of the lake! I know it's a lot of work to keep up with all of your plants, but also very rewarding. Fingers crossed for Rob.
Glad to see Freja out enjoying the sunshine with you. 🤗
Hope you have a blessed week! ❤😘
A beautiful garden, thank you! Love the view of the lake. Wow!
What a wonderful garden you have and the views over and around the lake are amazing! So lucky.
Maine seems much earlier here as well. Flowers are ahead.
Beautiful gardens, I would never leave!
Your property is beautiful. So green. The water reflections are lovely😊
Hi guys glad to see your garden i just love the lake the new addition is beautiful with all the windows i liked rob he looks so cute cutting the grass i love seeing your place so enjoy your summer
I love the garden walk. So envious...it looks great
What a beautiful garden setting you have there! FYI -- sometimes your outdoor volume is quite low. I need to wear headphones to hear this and other outdoor episodes....I'm grateful that I have a solution ( and no, I do not have hearing issues 😉).
Thank you for your feedback, we will let Erik know.
your house is beautiful
Hello Arne and Carlos, you live in a wonderful place. What a peaceful setting. I love your gardens. Your greenhouse is marvelous. Enjoy! ❤😊
Thank you!
What a beautiful place to come home to! Love seeing your garden and hope Rob works. Like others I enjoyed hearing you speak your native language. Here in coastal California we continue to have grey skies and gloomy weather so I really enjoy your lovely garden.
We hope you have had some sun now!
Hi, from San Diego, Ca. Love the garden update. What I loved the most was the reflection of the clouds of the lake. What a beautiful image. I can see a landscape quilt of your garden .
That would make a beautiful quilt.
❤ thank you for sharing you beautiful garden...beautiful few...your love for your garden shows in your hardwork...❤
😍😍
Oh the setting is absolutely stunning
Your garden is lovely. Thanks for the tour. ❤ 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
Your gardens are beautiful! Thank for the tour!
Thank you for joining!
The yellow flowering weed.....is it a dandelion (dandy-lion)? I joke how that is the best flower bed I have ever grown! 😂
😍😍🤣
Love your garden, and wow the waterside location is just stunning. ❤
Thank you❤️
You have a beautiful property and you've put so much love into the gardens. Have you had your first swim yet Carlos ?
Not yet
How are your insects? This year our June biting flies are especially fierce! But, we also have wildflowers I’ve never seen before! I live at 4000 feet on Palomar Mountain in San Diego county.
Enjoyed the views of your garden, it's beautiful...Please don't cut down the tree, I love it where it is!!!
To kill the weeds, salt is supposed to work better than vinegar. The best salt is the one used in winter on icy areas. It will kill good plants as well as weeds, so its best used in your gravel areas.
Hello arnecarlos
Beautiful garden. I do feel though that you should completely jet wash the brick paths to expose their beauty. No moss on them. Too treacherous. Moss is lovely on walls or boulders...💯🍻💞
I have a robot vacuum cleaner whose name is Bertie 😂 and I talk to him too. I always feel compelled to thank him so when AI takes over, I might be spared by our new robot overlords 😅
That is a fun strategy!
Your garden is beautiful! Suggestion for your stone path: get a flame weeder. It is a camping sized propane tank attached to a hook shaped tube. You light it. Then you can burn the weeds out of the stone path easily. The benefit is that you don’t have to bend over and scrape out the weeds. Plus, there is no chemical left behind (safe for dogs and children who walk on the path). I hope that saves you from some hard work!
We are exactly like that in Northern Michigan. Very warm / hot weather. Warm winter to. Are flowers area month ahead too.
Beautiful garden! Love your place!
Thank you!
So much fun to see your garden and all that you have done there already this season! My sister just came for a visit and we worked together to make my garden look nice, but it’s not nearly as nice as yours. I do have some of the same plants as you. My ferns are huge, though, and want to take over everything! Thanks for the inspiration ❤
You are welcome❤️
Such a pretty area!
Yes, please don’t cut that tree down!
We have had lots of rain here but cold, the leaves are still trying to come on the trees however this is normal for us….
Your garden is looking great 👍 👌😊😊
Thank you!
Good afternoon, guys.
I have to comment on how great you said you felt when the YT personality spoke to you !! I’d feel the very same if you spoke to me !
Your grounds are too fabulous for words!
Your UK trip sounds so delightful ! I’d love to have the very same experience in England as you have had . The books are great . I also have an older gardening book by Christopher LLoyd !!!
Good luck with poor dear “Rob” .
Thanks for the tour . Your home reno is coming along beautifully !!
❤Marilyn xx USA
T❤️❤️
I Spray 100% vinegar on the weeds in my brick pavers. It will kill the weeds and they are easier to pull. Although it will kill the moss.
Thank you for the tip!
I don't know how you can bear to leave home!
It is very hard at this time of the year😍
San Marzano’s are my favorite tomatoes too!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, it is hotter earlier everywhere. It's our new normal. Beautiful garden already. Enjoy. No PJ'S...?
Later!
Well, I wish I had known you were in Kent - I'd have invited you for coffee and cake in our (very unkempt and weedy!) garden.
Next time😍
The gardens are lovely. Arne's microphone wasn't working very well. I was able to hear Carlos just fine.
Sikke en dejlig have 🥰
Takk!
Try salt on your paths….it kills weeds.
👍🏻
The sound was very low today.
Thank you for your feedback.
More Norwegian please! But a little more slowly (and a translation so I know if I understood properly!!!).
Cut that tree for Christmas🎄
Hi from Hilton Head Island,South Carolina
Please don’t cut down the tree by the lake-it’s beautiful! Imagine it with white lights in the winter- especially at Christmas😊 You have a beautiful home and garden.
The reflection of the sky and clouds in the lake is lovely. Glad you have a good time in the UK and enjoyed the gardens.
The view of your house and garden from across the lake is absolutely spectacular you're fortunate to live in such a beautiful place! ❤ 😊
Such a beautiful garden ! And with the view of the water it cannot be more perfect
Thank you so much Arlette!
Nice update on your garden. Lovely. And always nice to hear you speaking in Norwegian. Thank you❤️
I live in Iowa, USA. We too have experienced an early blooming season. We had very warm temps with lots of rain showers. Please do not take out that pine, it will provide a place for the birds and provide a beautiful view when the winter snow fall.
That is very similar to our weather in Norway.
Such beauty! I would never want to leave home if I lived where you did. The lake, gardens, pathways, and seating areas. And the greenhouse!! thank you for letting us 'visit'.
Thank you for visiting!
I like how you have seating in all different areas of the gardens.
Yes, it gives us an opportunity to enjoy it at different spots.
Haven't seen Freya in so long!!! Also loved the non English parts even if I didn't understand . Beautiful language!
Thank you for sharing. Your garden is beautiful. I can not imagine weeding all that brick pavement- good luck! We here in Michigan are almost 4 weeks ahead as well. A mild winter and a moderately warm spring has brought everything out early.
So beautiful and you have accomplished so much even with travel and all else you do! Thank you for sharing and enjoy summer in your lovely garden on the lake 💐
My that’s a lot of ground to take care of, but I can see how much you love being outdoors. Love the greenhouse! And maybe you can repurpose that fir tree (that will be cut down near the lake) for an early Christmas indoors. 😉
