- It is the 45th anniversary of "Truth," the debut album by the Jeff Beck Group, but don't expect a Beck/Rod Steward reunion anytime soon. "He never calls," groused the guitar legend. In this interview excerpt, Beck elaborates on the challenges facing any future duets.

Bingeing on Beck, i do wish they did more, so great together. 🤩
Glad that he and Rod did play a gig together after this interview (in LA in 2018 or 19 I think).
I will really miss him. That was a shock.
Jeff always took everything in stride.
He will be missed.

"Hey spotify! Get it" Jeff always can make you laugh...
Long live Jeff Beck!
A Master! 😎🎸🎶👏👏
Jeff started Rod on his career! Jeff King of the Strat!🇨🇦🎸🎼
I always knew that Jeff Beck and rod Stewart was like brothers. In which a song tod Stewart put out you're in my heart you're in my soul a friend of mine always insisted on the recording of that song that Jeff Beck provided all the guitar tracks to that song during that recording session
Beautiful stuff a true musician 😎
JB never clung to past glory. He was always forging ahead and searching for something new. That's why he kept on progressing while his contemporaries never changed.
Come on Get it together lads
Well it looks like they're going to give it a shot @ The Hollywood Bowl! It could very well be a magical evening!
Rod never calls me either!
I met with a British music manager and promoter who worked with legends. He said Rod Stewart was the only artist who made his road crew pay for their own beer.
Rod's notoriously tight
My friend plays in a band which plays at Rod Stewart concerts, I mentioned Rod being notoriously tight and he said he’s been good to us, he gave my friend a pair of signed Glasgow Celtic football boots.
@@alexbowman7582 They would have been a gift to Rod from someone on the team. Cost him nothing.
@@vestibulate it doesn’t matter how much money you have, it’ll disappear if your not careful
@@alexbowman7582 Thanks for that useful and informative insight.
I saw Beck with Stewart back in 84/85 when they toured together. ... Beck was great but I wasn't surprised Beck quit a week later.
A true statement though. They are both front men
When Rod heard this interview, he vowed to get even.
What is and will not to be.. Jeff's right. These guys never got along and a reunion of them smacks of my getting together again with my ex-wife. I saw them 3 times in 68-69. Yes, they were fantastic on a good night. That being said, it is a shame that Jeff could not get it together with Steve Marriott. What a band that would have been.
Kind of like Koss joining the Stones instead of Ronnie Wood huh?
I also saw the Jeff Beck Group several times in 1969. I’ll never forget it.
This interview was recorded in the corridor, how disrespectable is that!
Anyone close to the situation knew Rod's manager was the reason.
Buona giornata ❤ tesoro felice fortuna
He was an amazing and unique guitarist with incredible improvisational intuition. How he played a trem to approach his notes was masterful and precise but risky and daring. Loose and with his ear and the voice of his instrument. If you’re a guitar geek and he’s not a god at the pantheon, try switching to keyboards. Lol
It was hearing about Tal that reignited my interests and some incredible performances.
Too late now Jeff, Rod was the stumbling block with any Faces Reunion after Ronnie Lane passed , with a line up of Stewart Wood McClagan & Jones Stewart just wasn't interested about the past they ended up with Mick Hucknall.
I like Jeff Beck :)
Even though wsj stinks, this is not from the stink era I guess :P
Read between the lines..."Rod is a selfish, vain egotistical difficult person"
That's what rod says about jeff
Talking about 'Yourself' AGAIN? XO
jeff beck kicks glennbecks ass
Jeff beck is one of best all around guitarist
When I read Jeff Beck died? I walked into our bedroom (that my husband had went to for sleep about ten mins before) and told him- Jeff Neck died!
He said: Oh,Wow!
The next day, I mentioned it again (I know and have know for years exactly who Jeff Beck is), he admitted he was shocked bc he thought Glen Beck died.
True story. Lol! So besides you, yeah someone else thought that. 😀
@@macnchessplz The world will be overtaken by choas!
@@vestibulate And you think it isn’t taken over by chaos NOW? Lol
@@macnchessplz That was a little joke about Jeff Neck having died.
I love Jeff Beck, but 50+ years of bickering with Rod Stewart was such a waste.
They did some shows from 2010 to 2020 i think
Instead he got the bloated wanna-be no good Depp 😢
