Nurse Eric here yet again, I gotta say I really enjoy watching your content and especially what you’re doing for Ed. As someone that works mainly with the elderly there’s nothing better than seeing a big old sincere smile from a person that has been there and done everything. One of the reasons I got into nursing and you guys are able to pull it off in a different way with this bike. Can’t wait to see the end product, going to look great. God bless and have a great week until the next video drop!🇺🇸👍🏼
Too bad there wasn't a bit more time...given Ed's stories, a rear brake on this would probably be a very welcome addition. It's great to see the various Ed projects hitting the reassembly stages, and on the down slope of the project mountain. Great work guys, I hope you do head to Robby Layton's to do a collaboration reassembly video, and of course, you HAVE to be there, in person, when Ed "strikes it rich" with all his gold treasures are given back to him!
It's amazing that TH-camr's connect. I found this due to watching Matt's Offroad, then found Robby Layton the same way. Rebuild Rescue is my fav also and the list goes on and on.
I love that you guys are all in on this project for Ed! 💙⭐It's gonna look sweet on that trailer Tom Tom designed & Lizzy welded ... The Nugget Ensemble ‼️💥
Ed looked so thrown off when he saw the bike in pieces, good job guys, lets hope it gets some use for a bit before ed cant hold it up on his own. With the golden nugget, what a master piece
@@BikesandBeards What a diffrence spacers make on lining up the sprockets for the chain, would they not have had some kind of chain guard for the exposed frame?
@@BikesandBeards did you guys install a fancy new kickstand for Ed, maybe one on a switch that can be flipped? As I thought if cool things that would help an older gentleman an automatic kickstand was all that came up🤷♂️
Well you guys been doing a nice job on Ed's bike. Very unusual drive system in that you blueprinted nicely. Someone put a lot of thought and Engineering into the makeup of that bike. To Robbie's it shall soon go.
I'm surprised that they haven't called on Rokon support for assistance on this build. They are a great resource and I'm sure they would be an asset in getting this build done (maybe even add some of the more up to date features, like rear brakes). They even have the owners manuals for all the bikes online. It would be great to see them add to the collaboration.
I was one of these guys that called you about the scam. Thanks agian for taking your time to take my call. Glad I didn't fall for the scammers. But I did mess with them for about 12 hours. Just tried to waste there time.
Lol! I emailed about that BS, got a reply with the quickness. But didn't think about messing with them. I do with those folks trying to lower my interest rate, Amazon stuff, solar stuff, my vehicles extended warranty, etc..🤣
Home gamer tip here, oven cleaner works really well to clean up grease and stuff like that. Works great for me when I paint tractors Love the vids, keep up the good work, and thank you for the encouragement as a brother in Christ
I hope that frame gets painted to match the Nugget. It'll look great on the trailer behind the Nugget. In the mid 80s I had a metal flake brown XJ....and a 1980 1000 XLCH painted in the same color. Jeep used the same paint as HD. When the bike was on a trailer behind that XJ Pioneer it looked like a Tonka Toy collector set. It was grand!
Love this project! Watching Craig’s brain figure some of this stuff out is inspiring! Thanks for a great channel and for what your doing for Ed! God bless
I can actually see why Ed's bike was special because as a prospector even though i don't have experience in it you need something quick small and reliable to get you in and out of spaces quickly and judging by the tires itself those look similar to hill-climber tires which is really good for traction. Plus i'm pretty sure that bike is like his Harley😀
Love this channel plus Bikes & Beards!... Just dropping a quick note all the way from Thailand, i noticed and appreciate you addressing the fake spamming issue... Was looking for the same from another channel (rebuild rescue) as it happened to me directly, then trolled the comments and found several other potential victims... The Rokon is coming together really nice!!!!! You guy’s have done a fantastic job cleaning it up and reassembling it. It’s really nice your helping Ed out.
I bought a Rokon last year with a broken shear pin at the override spring. It was a pain to repair that, then it took about 2 hours to get the ujoint aligned back on the driveshaft!
I've got to say I'm quite surprised you guys don't have a pressure washer bay or at least an area where you could do such thing. I saw the video on the FLH repairs. I hope that fix holds. Otherwise you know you'll be looking for an aftermarket replacement. I think I voted for blue but seeing red and black version just looks awesome. I started seeing those posts after a couple guitar related videos I watched. I direct messaged the owners of the page to check that out with them. Neither were doing any giveaways. One of them I know almost never does a giveaway unless it's a sponsored one. And then those channels always do the giveaways either live or they give you a link in the channel info. They never message with any number. Heck when you guys were doing a live event awhile back I had just ordered a tshirt and you called my name. By the way thanks again for the Airbuds . They work great even wit the android phone I have.
Hey guys new to your channel!!! I’ve been following the gold nugget post from Matt’s recovery, to Fab Rats, to Robby!! It’s great to see you guys have joined in on this part of Ed’s surprise!! Least I can do is give you the old thumbs up 👍 Tc from Nevada
That Rokon is such a simple design and just works so well. No it is NOT fast but dang can it go. Thank you all for your time and skill and love for a cool older gut with a heart of gold. God bless you all.
Very nice guys .... I'm trying to keep up to date on all things "ED" that involve the Golden Nugget and the Rokon, that is happening across the country. What a story ... can't wait to see it all come together🏍🏍 Take care from central PA.
Refresh my memory. Isn't this the bike that was on the back page of every magazine I ever read in the 70's and 80's. It sold for a couple hundred bucks. You put it together yourself. It was essentially a shopping cart with 3 1/2 horse power and achieved a top speed of 8 mph down hill. It was guaranteed to handle and stop exactly like shopping cart filled with bowling balls that had 2 bad wheels going down a flight of stairs.
I just love watching you guys I am a dirt bike rider I have been my entire life I'm 41 years old I just started riding street bikes this is my second year on the road I absolutely love it and you guys are awesome I love everything you do I'm not very far from you guys I think maybe only about three hours hopefully this summer I can come up to the shop and check things out
Great Job Guys Know Ed will be stoked Maybe A good name for the bike is Bleistine (not cause is golden yellow) it was President Teddy Roosevelt part of the Rough Riders it was his horses name. Ed was a real pioneer at his mines like a Rough Rider back in the day
Awesome job guys on Ed's Rokon , since he used it to go back and forth to the mine it should be called the (trail nugget ). Then he will have the golden nugget towing the trail nugget for all his off-road adventures . keep up the good work and can't wait to see what they both look like together thanks again
Great project. I was surfing TH-cam and found Fire Mountain Outdoors. They had a tip about a "Triangle Thingy" that you might want to fabricate for the Rokon rear chain guard. It seemed like a good idea.
Maybe you guys can name it OROKON . The spanish word for gold is ORO-KON . Iam from the Phillipines. You guys , fabrats , matts and robby are doing a great thing for Ed at his darn age . God bless you guys.
The chain on my 93 will rub the tire if I air down too much. The cool tire is the Maxis Bighorn, but I have the smaller spoked rims (my next purchase). I don't think they have it in the old school hollow rim size. It is made for the front on a side by side.
The WLA should definitely be some combination of blue and white 🏴😜 - but a close second is that first yellow setup you showed (that was also pretty killer).
Ed's going to love this bike! I couldn't find your link for the pole, however red and black Harley would be awesome... the yellow there would be my second choice... Yellow is something different, it grows on you and it really looks good, as you see my 75 Z1 is yellow... I would never pick blue I don't like blue at all! God bless and take care everyone!
I previously chose grey but after you showed the Redtop/Blackbottom bike.... wow..... that's the one.... the blue makes me sick folks.... I grew up in a baby blue bedroom ya'll so........
On your Harley, I would go with the yellow color. You’re working on the yellow Rokon I take it as a sign, good luck with it and I’ll catch you on the next one.
Craig's the kind of guy that shines with obscure projects, hell he built a cherry picker motorcycle. Good job with the details and tedious work man. I'd wrench with that guy anyday.
The chain may be rubbing on the tire because the axle is not aligned properly. Make sure the axle is perpendicular to the main axis of the bike. Also, make sure the tire inflation is correct.
I went to the WLA to vote on the color, but you didn't have the black and red one you pictured in this video. I think that one is the best looking of all that I have seen on your channel.
Looking better all the time and great trouble shooting too. I hope Ed don't go crazy with this thing once it is done like he did on your bike. 85 and still a wild man.
