Great tutorial. The minute I learned how to backwards skate, the rink closed down and reopened as a library, go figure. Watching this helped me relearn.
That's a perfect example of how to transition front to back and set it up to skate backwards.I was shown how to spin around but couldn't see how doing a 180 can go into skating backwards.
Thanks so much for the help! I've only been skating for a few weeks now and I was able to learn how to transition and skate backwards a little with your help! I hope you continue making more tutorials!
Whenever I (attempt to) transition, I sometimes end up continuing to skate forward, anyone know why that is? I also tend to only really use one foot (usually my left) and it feels like I’m doing a weird spin 🥲
Hi! So when you’re skating you don’t want your feet right next to each other, you actually want them slightly staggered. So my right foot is pretty much always leading and slightly in front of the left!
I tried it for the first day as a beginner and it it quite hard if you can't handle enough balancing your weight at the foot. Also your foot must be in straight not twisted in or out side so you won't fall off.
Can u do videos like this for all your skills, like build it up so we can learn the skills one step at a time? That would be awesome! Q: did u have a teacher? How did u learn?
Thank you! I'm gonna practice this today, I need to gain confidence skating. Im so afraid that im gonna fall lol. I hold onto everything I can

Practice your backwards skating more. Weight on your toes to go backwards, weight on your heels to go forwards
@@Layer03cyberia thank you!!

Does it work with speeds/inlines

You need to be flexible for this in other words
Yeah, but your arms are a huge part of it
Instructions unclear: ended up in a garbage can and now in the truck…help
Do you think this would work the same on blades? Or just quads?
i can transition, but this definitely helped me to make it more smooth. thank uuu ❤
Thanks Kate, I've been so nervous about this transition. This is my sign to start soon.
all its in the left ankle rotation and then the right foot follows the motion
