- This is a review of LEGO Dreamzzz set 71454 Mateo and Z-Blob the robot! This set officially releases in August 2023 as a part of the very first LEGO Dreamzzz Wave, and contains 2 minifigures: Mateo and Jayden!

Let kids aged 7+ lose themselves in the dream world with this LEGO® DREAMZzz™ Mateo and Z-Blob the Robot (71454) building toy set. Based on the action that takes place on the DREAMZzz TV show, this set lets kids transform Z-Blob into a sleek robot to help Mateo rescue Jayden, who’s been kidnapped by a nightmare monster.
1 set, 2 ways to build
The large Z-Blob robot has a fully articulated torso, arms and legs. Kids can use the included accessories to give Z-Blob hand and shoulder blasters or a jetpack and helmet, giving kids the opportunity to unleash their imaginations and double the fun play.
Minifigures bring the action to life
The set includes detailed minifigures of Mateo and Jayden. Their accessories include a belt, pencil staff and hourglass, which are important to their characters in the TV show.
Bring Z-Blob to life - Kids can enjoy imaginative play with the LEGO® DREAMZzz™ Mateo and Z-Blob the Robot (71454) building toy set, based on a storyline from the TV show

Choose the adventure - Kids can choose between giving Z-Blob a hand blaster, a shoulder-mounted blaster and target for shooting practice or a jetpack and helmet
2 minifigures - This toy set comes with detailed minifigures of Mateo and Jayden and includes important accessories such as a pencil staff and hourglass
Detailed elements - Features include a nightmare monster and the bed from which Jayden is kidnapped

The crocodile car would be my preference for the next video, since you haven’t yet done one with three versions (car, crocodile, monster truck)

I wonder why in the show the armory is SILVER and in the lego set it is WHITE 🤖🤖🤔🤔
Normally Z-Blob reminds me of Goop from Ben10 - another green gooey being, in this form the armor makes him look just like a different alien, Atomix. Even the Dream Chasers' logo is in this case reminiscent of the Omnitrix, since both of them use the hourglass motif.
I love the new joint piece and how it finally allows for mid-limb rotation, since that's something that a lot of mechs, creature and character builds, especially the bigger ones, lack in terms of articulation (properly arranged ball joints can sometimes provide that) when compared to non-lego action figures
Definitely a must-have set for me!
This is what i was thinking too! Wanted to get some of these for the ben 10 parts
This is the one set I am absolutely getting. Love the idea of a robot/mech suit with goopy portions of the limbs for flexability. Almost enough to want to get two of the set just for more green pieces to make the limbs extra stretchy looking. And that articulation puts a lot of the smaller Ninjago mechs to shame! Especially for such a good price!
The Z-Blob set is pretty neat!
Definitely a great set for people whole love mechs and unique figures.

I don't know how many Dreamzzz sets I'll get, but this is one of 3 I'm already locked in on getting (the other 2 being Bunchu the Bunny and the Pegasus Flying Horse). Through those, I will get the main leads, multiple side characters, and the main villain

Looks really cool. I would have maybe liked some elbow and knee hinges, but would need quite a different build I suppose.
Part of me is tempted to buy two and try to build a sort of super version

I already picked this one up and took apart the tiny builds and made some sort of turrent with the pieces but for the alternate build i will probably take off the robot face

No interest in Dreamzzz as a series, but I’ll definitely get this set, and (hopefully) combine aspects of the two builds (goo gun in one hand, stud shooters on the other).
